1. Music

If you listen to pop or rap music, you are most likely a conformist. Try something like Marilyn Manson, Bauhaus, or Nine Inch Nails. Any love songs are definitely conformist.

What clothes are conformist?

If you're a girl or dress in a feminine way: pink, colors, short shorts, anything with flowers, hearts, or inspirational quotes on it, anything slutty, overly frilly dresses, sequins

If you're a boy or dress in a masculine way: anything Nike or Adidas, blue jeans, those ugly mesh athletic shorts

If you're a guy and never wear makeup, that's conformist. If you're a girl and wear sparkly eyeshadow, pink blush, pink lipstick, only a small amount of eyeliner in a color like brown, etc., that's conformist.

But what if I just don't want to wear makeup? Not because I'm told I shouldn't but I just don't want to. Is that different than conforming because I'm technically just conforming to what I wanna do-- or is it still being conformist?

Also I am not conformist by the first two. But I don't think it's in the way you are suggesting lol. I listen to classical or older music and wear slacks or dress pants most of the time not jeans or shorts.

You want to be non-conformist, DISCOVER music on your own. Any band with a fan base has developed conformity. MM is merely a schtick, an inversion of "normal". "Being the opposite of conforming" is merely another way to conform. The dress you show is a CONFORMIST dress. IT CONFORMS TO A SPECIFIC STYLE! Here is how to not be a conformist:
STOP GIVING A FUCK.
1. Music; Listen to whatever gives you a good vibe, WHATEVER THE FUCK IT IS. If it's old Lawrence Welk polkas, then ROCK OUT ON THE POLKA! It's YOUR fucking music and FUCK everybody who wants you t conform to THEIR taste with a white hot poker until its sizzling end comes poking out the tops of their skulls. If some pathetic little conformist tries to tell you to listen to NiN or MM because if you don't you're a "conformist", fart on them.

2. Clothing: Wear the fuck whatever you fucking want. If lumberjack is YOUR thing, be a FUCKING LUMBERJACK. Your style should be YOUR FUCKING STYLE and NOBODY gets to tell you what fucking dress to fucking wear while fucking going out or fucking fucking, for that matter. Only a miserable little CONFORMIST will put up a picture of a dress and tell the WHOLE FUCKING WORLD that this is how people ought to dress. If you are into penny loafers, khakis and polo shirts because YOU like them and fuck the world, then ROCK OUT ON IT!

3. Makeup: The idea that ANYBODY gets to tell me whether or not I ought to wear makeup is CONFORMIST BULLSHIT. ANY rules about how you ought to look are CONFORMISM.

Do you have a phone or do you have an electronic fashion accessory. Android for life motha fuckas ^^ Oh, and not to be a metal snob, but ya know, more popular bands like Nine Inch Nails is considered quiiiite conformist by much heavier metal-heads. Just a warning you may run into trouble over that. I'm a bit more open minded of a metalhead, so I won't be the one to give trouble. I'd say the super non conformist music lover would listen to Deicide, Dying Fetus, Equilibrium, Dethklok (maybe not, but hey, I fuckin love them OK!), Hostile, Carath Angren, Powerwolf, Body Count, Alestorm, Sabaton, and Wisdom (to a degree), and that sort of shit. Rarely would those play on the radio PERIOD. But then again, I might prefer something like NIN than anything of the mainstream BS, so I get your point. I'm pretty sure I top it of on non conformity by putting the above mentioned bands right near songs like the full house, Friends, and MLP themes as well as various anime themes. Even some stuff from Red vs Blue (suck it RWBY!) Just because fuck it why not? lolz.

I suppose I'm a conformist. I listen to all types of music. I just like whatever sounds good. Same for clothing, I can either dress like the picture or a billion other things. I like all styles, just depends on my mood. Makeup, I'm more stable.

I like natural and light colors most times because dark make up doesn't always match my face. I'll look like a fish. But there are days I break out my black and dark colors. Just not often.

I never really think too deep into it, I just do what I like and let people do what they like. I never saw the appeal in limiting myself in regards to daily life choices like music, clothes, styles, and interests. I guess her point is knowing whether or not you're more like everyone else and not the scene she's into.

Well that's a weird take. A lot of things you considered 'non-conformist' is actually conformist of some-kind. The only people that are somewhat consistently non-conformist are usually pioneers, inventors or the clinically insane. Anything that prescribes to a form of orthodoxy will be generally considered some kind of conformity.

I have a Nirvana profile pic cuz I like Nirvana and I like their icon, it's pretty neat. I also like Rag N Bone man, Avicii, Ed Sheeran who I will find a way to have my babies, Metallica, Iron Maiden, some Ozzy I guess, George Ezra, Fallout Boy and Daft Punk and probably some others.
