Why I Voted Republican in the Midterm Election

I just got back from voting for the first time of my life. Now I can go on her and say: I approve of Donald Trump and the Democratic party has lost almost all my respect and blah blah blah who gives a fuck. Even though I do think that, I'm not going to talk about that. I'm not personally Republican or Democrat, I tend to call myself a Libertarian, there's issues I may have a more liberal perspective on, there's issues I may have a more conservative perspective on, and there's issues I may have a mix of both.

Why I Voted Republican in the Midterm Election

Ok ok, The REAL reason I voted Republican isn't because of any personal biases, its because of my political view all around. I don't believe in sabotaging a president during his/her term. Overall, I don't think there should be a midterm election, I think there should only be a main election every 4 years. I mean the President won the election fair and square and therefor has earned his/her 4 years, so if we voted someone to be president for 4 year, then let them be President for 4 years. I still believe the House and the Senate are very important, but trying to switch the ruling party just because you don't like the current President is... I don't want to say wrong, but it's kinda lame. As much as I very much disliked President Obama, I tend to think he was done unfairly by the Republican party when they won the House in 2010 and when they won the House and the Senate in 2014.

Why I Voted Republican in the Midterm Election

Before you fact check me, mind that I'm very young and only been interested in politics for almost 2 years now. Early on in the election season, I thought about just voting for my state's Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, US Senator, and Board of Education, I didn't think I knew enough about politics to vote for House, Senate, and Congress, but for the last month of nonstop political ads, commercials, and people coming to my doorstep with flyers saying things like "We all need to vote Democrat in the midterm election so we can stop Donald Trump's plans and finally impeach him", it was getting very annoying and I disagreed with it. So with a lot of thinking, when I got to the voting booth something in me just said:

Why I Voted Republican in the Midterm Election

So I voted Republican. Not just because I support President Trump (I actually do), but because I want him to have a fair chance of being President, and I would have done the same thing if we had a Democratic President by voting Democrat in the midterms. I don't care if the people I voted for lost (I voted 3rd party of my state's Governor) because I believe that my vote and my personal political opinion carried at least an ounce of weight.
