You won’t save the planet by recycling or selling your car or turning the water off while brushing your teeth.

But that’s because you’re not destroying the planet. None of us are harming the planet.

Corporations and government are to blame. The greenhouse gasses your economy car puts out is an insignificant fraction. The factories and deforestation, the desertification and methane caused by livestock, and a global lack of regulation are the problem.

There’s no money in saving the planet. In fact it’s an economic burden. Money is all anybody cares about, so the planet fucked. Even if your country passes regulations that doesn’t mean every country will.

Just be thankful that you’ll be dead before it gets too bad.

How much CO2 do humans produce out of all the CO2 in the world? 3%. What is the grand total of CO2 in the atmosphere, that is how much CO2 is needed in the atmosphere before it becomes toxic and dangerous? About 10%. of the atmosphere. How much CO2 has their been in the past when it was at its highest (with complex life on this planet)? .3% of the atmosphere. What is the percentage of our atmosphere that is CO2 now? About.04%. Is carbon dioxide an issue? Well taking all of this data into account, absolutely not as we have had substantially higher concentrations in the past and for a large part of our planets history (that includes the parts where complex life existed (like dinosaurs and the first mamamals as well as multiple other times even more recently (like in the middle ages and late antiquity).

So what about methane? Well we know that their are a little over 9 million cows in the US. We also know that one termite colony produces about 3x the methane of a herd of cattle (which is about 120 cows). How many termite colonies do we have? Well the lowest estimate is that their are 28 million colonies. . . in Arizona alone. This is before we get into the fact that every single bit of decaying matter produces methane, that it wells up from the ocean, from swamps, bogs, compost etc. So is methane an actual issue, especially where humans and in this specific case cattle are concerned? Absolutely not.

As for desertification, we are actually seeing a greener earth then we have in centuries. The Sahara desert is actually shrinking for the first time since probably the middle ages, we have record crop yields (due to 90% of a plants mass coming specifically from carbon from CO2 thanks to photosynthesis and thus 90% of our food and plant based resources are specifically because of CO2(making it arguably the most important element on our planet as its responsible for a large portion of the oxygen and the overwhelming majority of our food as well as resources and shelter not just for humans but the overwhelming majority of life on our planet). So that is also not occurring.

As for claiming that its businesses fault, even if it was happening, that would also not be true. You are paying for their service ergo you are endorsing their methodology, you are stating that you agree with how they do things by paying them to continue doing things in that particular way. When BP had their oil spill due to laziness and being to cheap to bother fixing their oil rigs and following proper guidelines resulting in the destruction of much of the life that was dependent on the gulf (whether that be the fish and birds or the towns who relied on the gulf for fishing and tourism), the people who did not agree with them stopped buying their product. So if you continue to buy from them you are telling them that the goods/services are worth the price both the monetary one and the moral one. You do not get to divest yourself of responsibility simply because you don't want to have to alter your life style, if you truly believe what you are saying you should endorse businesses that adhere to those beliefs. I don't buy from businesses that destroy the environment out of negligence if I can help it. I don't endorse businesses that treat people poorly (like for instance the starward franchise, they blamed their failures on "evil white males", it was the fans fault that they failed not them, so I refuse to buy their products and pay for their movies any more, its that simple). To do anything else is hypocritical and manipulative (to claim that you care knowing full and well that you don't actually have to alter your life in any real way to back up that claim because you push the responsibility of fixing the problem onto every one but you).

As for their being "no money" well actually their is. Why do you think every one is endorsing the government taxing people into oblivion over this? They will make a lot of money.

Poluted rivers are a problem, but they're generally a local problem. The ice on Greenland and Antartica is what will cause sea levels to rise; it's not floating. So, how is that a question? There are significant advancements in carbon sequestration technology, along with lowering emissions from the developed countries.
