There’s nothing you can do to save the planet!

You won’t save the planet by recycling or selling your car or turning the water off while brushing your teeth.

But that’s because you’re not destroying the planet. None of us are harming the planet.

Corporations and government are to blame. The greenhouse gasses your economy car puts out is an insignificant fraction. The factories and deforestation, the desertification and methane caused by livestock, and a global lack of regulation are the problem.

There’s no money in saving the planet. In fact it’s an economic burden. Money is all anybody cares about, so the planet fucked. Even if your country passes regulations that doesn’t mean every country will.

There’s nothing you can do to save the planet!

Just be thankful that you’ll be dead before it gets too bad.

There’s nothing you can do to save the planet!

  • How much CO2 do humans produce out of all the CO2 in the world? 3%. What is the grand total of CO2 in the atmosphere, that is how much CO2 is needed in the atmosphere before it becomes toxic and dangerous? About 10%. of the atmosphere. How much CO2 has their been in the past when it was at its highest (with complex life on this planet)? .3% of the atmosphere. What is the percentage of our atmosphere that is CO2 now? About.04%. Is carbon dioxide an issue? Well taking all of this data into account, absolutely not as we have had substantially higher concentrations in the past and for a large part of our planets history (that includes the parts where complex life existed (like dinosaurs and the first mamamals as well as multiple other times even more recently (like in the middle ages and late antiquity).

So what about methane? Well we know that their are a little over 9 million cows in the US. We also know that one termite colony produces about 3x the methane of a herd of cattle (which is about 120 cows). How many termite colonies do we have? Well the lowest estimate is that their are 28 million colonies. . . in Arizona alone. This is before we get into the fact that every single bit of decaying matter produces methane, that it wells up from the ocean, from swamps, bogs, compost etc. So is methane an actual issue, especially where humans and in this specific case cattle are concerned? Absolutely not.

As for desertification, we are actually seeing a greener earth then we have in centuries. The Sahara desert is actually shrinking for the first time since probably the middle ages, we have record crop yields (due to 90% of a plants mass coming specifically from carbon from CO2 thanks to photosynthesis and thus 90% of our food and plant based resources are specifically because of CO2(making it arguably the most important element on our planet as its responsible for a large portion of the oxygen and the overwhelming majority of our food as well as resources and shelter not just for humans but the overwhelming majority of life on our planet). So that is also not occurring.

As for claiming that its businesses fault, even if it was happening, that would also not be true. You are paying for their service ergo you are endorsing their methodology, you are stating that you agree with how they do things by paying them to continue doing things in that particular way. When BP had their oil spill due to laziness and being to cheap to bother fixing their oil rigs and following proper guidelines resulting in the destruction of much of the life that was dependent on the gulf (whether that be the fish and birds or the towns who relied on the gulf for fishing and tourism), the people who did not agree with them stopped buying their product. So if you continue to buy from them you are telling them that the goods/services are worth the price both the monetary one and the moral one. You do not get to divest yourself of responsibility simply because you don't want to have to alter your life style, if you truly believe what you are saying you should endorse businesses that adhere to those beliefs. I don't buy from businesses that destroy the environment out of negligence if I can help it. I don't endorse businesses that treat people poorly (like for instance the starward franchise, they blamed their failures on "evil white males", it was the fans fault that they failed not them, so I refuse to buy their products and pay for their movies any more, its that simple). To do anything else is hypocritical and manipulative (to claim that you care knowing full and well that you don't actually have to alter your life in any real way to back up that claim because you push the responsibility of fixing the problem onto every one but you).

As for their being "no money" well actually their is. Why do you think every one is endorsing the government taxing people into oblivion over this? They will make a lot of money.

Whatever happened to "GLOBAL WARMING?, Oh Ya, it was debunked & repackaged "CLIMATE CHANGE"
The top 8 most poluted RIVERS emptying into our oceans are NOT IN NORTH or SOUTH AMERICA!!! LOOK THE ICE MELTING isn't GUNNA FLOOD EARTH. CASE IN POINT: WHEN U LEAVE A GLASS OF ICE WATER ON THE COUNTER & COME BACK IS IT OVERFLOWING EVERYWHERE ONTO YOUR TABLE AFTER THE ICE MELTS? NO!! CUZ ICE DISPLACES THE AMOUNT OF WATER IT TAKES UP. & IF I PLACE AN ICE CUBE IN YOUR HAND ITLL MELT & UR ONLY 98.6°... NOW THINK OF THE MASSIVE BALL OF FIRE THAT CAN FIT 1MILLION EARTHS INTO IT... PROLLY GUNNA MELT ICE!!
EARTH/LAND IS LOWERING VIA PLATE TECTONICS & THATS WHY FLOODING HAPPENS. WELL & IDIOTS WHO BUILT CITIES BELOW SEA LEVEL TO BEGIN WITH. LOOK IN THE SOUTH POLE THERE ARE SHEETS OF ICE 3 MILES THICK!! EARTH GOES THROUGH THESE CYCLES FOR ITS ENTIRE LIFE & ALWAYS WILL LONG AFTER HUMANS ARE GONE...
    THE END

The caps lock key is on the left of your keyboard.

Poluted rivers are a problem, but they're generally a local problem. The ice on Greenland and Antartica is what will cause sea levels to rise; it's not floating. Humans, let alone civilisations weren't around for most of the life of the Earth. The Earth will survive us, we may not survive screwing up the planet.

    • I'm aware where the caps lock is located & NOW ITS ON AGAIN! DOES CAPS ON BUG U? UR PROLLY A SPELLING NAZI ALSO HUH? & UR PROLLY THE TYPE WHO WOULD MAKE SIGNS SAYING "SAVE THE TREES" WHILE HOLDING A SIGN MADE FROM A TREE... LOL

OOPS CAPS WAS LEFT ON AGAIN IN CASE U can't TELL

It always struck me as odd that countries like the US and Canada will punish their own citizens for polluting the entire earth, yet immediately do massive business with OPEC, China, and India which are the worlds worst polluters.
But what do I know, every time I point that out I'm either "racist" or a "conspiracy theorist".

We actually could stop this. But even failing that all the combined efforts of millions of non-greedy people will slow it down and give years of extra life to the innocent victims of the liars and thieves at the top.

And life won’t end. It will be replaced. Probably includes us

  • JackSmy

Ever hear of the Gaia Hypothesis? James Lovelock. The Earth is a LIVING BEING! She heals herself, and we, as humans are very much like a virus, or 'cancer' infecting Her!
She is a dynamic, changeable LIVING being, that alters things and changes to account for our abuses!!

    • goaded

It's a point of view, but healing herself (surviving us) means killing us. I don't think we want that.

  • mattdzz

So, how is that a question? There are significant advancements in carbon sequestration technology, along with lowering emissions from the developed countries. The country will not be destroyed, but there will be a period of fluctuation where the planets natural systems will correct the GhG anomaly (e. g. via hurricanes, etc. )

  • goaded

Don't talk like that! The leaders at the $40m G7 meeting decided to spend $22m on combatting the fires in Brazil!

We may be screwed, but while we push for real change, it doesn't hurt to eat less meat and dairy, not have a pet, and drive less.

  • till people demand it nothing changes look how long it took to break parts of the wall down people bought peaces of that to so nothing is impossible it will get bad to a point cities will find they will have to change these problems or else every 1 moves yo the most coldest climate

The future is meant for the adaptable, the world is changing and that isn't entirely a bad thing, we will learn and come back stronger even if something bad happens

    • goaded

You mean the future is meant for the people who can afford to move countries? The other few billion can go to hell? Nice.

    • @goaded That's not at all what I'm saying, don't put words in my mouth.

Have you ever thought , the flood got rid of bad people, Why not use fire this time , Revalation talks about a world stored up for fire. The earth is warming up you never know,...

Gotta disagree there girl. Those industries would not exist without customers. Consumers' decisions matter.

Decisions that come partly from publicity aka manipulation, paid by them.
