So recently a lot is going on my country and most of the world wasn't even aware of it. I'm gonna summarize the current events. Do share your views. Hopefully the world can sympathize with us.
CAA and NRC

The NRC (National Register of Citizens) is a registry maintained by the Government of India containing names & other information for identification of Indian citizens of the state of Assam. This is maintained to prevent illegal immigration from Bangladesh into India. There has been Political unrest in the whole country since the Home Minister Amit Shah declared during a parliamentary session that the register would be extended to the entire country.
This wasn't that big of a deal....until CAB 2019 happened.

CAB 2019 - Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 was a bill which was recently passed and became an Act. The Citizenship Amendment Act amends the Citizenship Act, 1955, and seeks to make foreign illegal migrants of certain religious communities coming from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan eligible for Indian citizenship. Now the religions explicitly mentioned were - Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians. The Home Minister defends the Act saying that it gives protection to the persecuted minorities of those three Islam dominated countries. Critics have termed it unconstitutional as the Act (Bill) violates Article 14 of the Indian Constitution which assures equality before the law without any discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth (thus it is also applicable to foreigners). This is because it particularly mentions some religions while ignoring others - Muslims (the majority among the minorities in India), Jews, Atheists!

What is happening?
When CAA is combined with NRC:
Why such disagreement? It's because of the combination of CAA & NRC. If somehow due to NRC you are to prove your nationality and you fail to do so due to failure of producing relevant document, you're in danger of being labelled an illegal immigrant and could face deportation to detention camps. That's where CAA comes into play - if you are a Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian you can claim citizenship....Muslims? Being 14% of the Indian population - they are rendered stateless. That's one reason for the violent protests. Also Assamese people fear that these illegal immigrant who will be granted citizenship will be more in number and will make them a minority in their own state. Also this act will promote more illegal immigration.
Prime minister Narendra Modi ironically shuts down Internet in Assam and tweets to them reassuring to preserve their identity

What does the Home Minister have to say about Muslims?
Home Minister Amit Shah makes it very clear that there are Muslim majority countries out there, Muslims can go and take refuge there. He denies that religious persecution to Muslims is possible in those three Islam dominated countries. But facts state the opposite. Ahmedi Muslims and other Shia Muslims have constantly faced persecution in Pakistan. Apart from that India clearly denied any relief to the Rohingya immigrants. Instead they were welcomed with open arms in Bangladesh. Similarly it ignores the Hui Muslims from China.
The UN gets involved
United Nations call CAB 'fundamentally discriminatory in nature and urges India to scrap it. Speaking on the National Human Rights Commission's (NHRC) Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Global parameters should not be only parameters. It's the time to redefine rights violations with the Indian perspective and should include poverty and violence in our society." (In short f**k your human rights)

Distraction from the Real Issues
These conflicts and communal division are a major distraction from the real issues.
Amidst these controversies the government proposes another controversial bill - Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 - it seeks to protect “the privacy of individuals relating to their personal data”. But does not deliver on the promise. It requires handlers of data to abide by globally-accepted rules — about getting an individual’s consent first — but gives wide powers to the Government to dilute any of these provisions for its agencies. What about privacy?
Indian GDP is as low as 4.5%. A record low of 4.3% in the past six years was a disgraceful milestone to achieve. (Source: https://www.indiatoday.in/business/story/gross-domestic-product-growth-falls-4-5-per-cent-q2-2019-20-1623733-2019-11-29)

The Unemployment Rate which averaged to 5.16 for about 4 decades reached an all time high of 8.5 this October. (Source: https://tradingeconomics.com/india/unemployment-rate?poll=2019-12-31 )

India ranks 102 out of 117 counties on the Global Hunger Index. Economic Times complains that this cumulative data is not comparable, but the fact that India slipped from 95th position to 102nd position in one year is concerning. The world's largest democracy can't feed it's masses properly and welcomes immigrants with easy citizenship.
Scams and Scandals:
1. Nirav Modi :- worth US$1.77 billion
2. Vijay Mallya :- worth US$1.3 billion
Those two were probably the greatest of the decade. the financial situation was so fragile that the Government had to borrow 1.76 lakh crore (US$24 billion) from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
How are the funds utilized in India?
We build the world's tallest statue - The Statue of Unity (cost: US$ 430 million)
(This statue was built before the Government borrowed from the RBI. So hope you don't misinterpret me that the borrowed money was wasted on a statue)
India's top 1% bag 73% of the country's wealth, says Oxfam. (Source: https://www.businesstoday.in/current/economy-politics/oxfam-india-wealth-report-income-inequality-richests-poor/story/268541.html )
Data Scam by the Government itself. The Government failed to provide data on farmer suicides, unemployment and other matters. ( 3 year delayed data on farmer suicides given by the government : https://thewire.in/rights/farmer-suicides-data )
India ranks 141st on the Global Peace Index of 2019 (137th in 2018) out of 163 countries with an average of one religious lynching a week since the past five years. (Source: https://www.dw.com/en/india-struggles-with-religious-lynchings/a-49950223

India fares awfully on the list of most polluted cities in the world. 22 of the top 33 most polluted cities in the world are Indian. 7 out of the top 10. (Source: https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2019/03/7-of-the-world-s-10-most-polluted-cities-are-in-india/ )

Apart from these there are various other issues like the elected politicians failing to prove their educational credibility. Criminal charges against ministers being closed without further investigations.
Conclusion

India is going through a dark age. Anyone who dare oppose the Government is being labelled an Anti-National. Shove Freedom of Speech up your a**. The Government frequently shuts down the Internet so that the people can't reach out to others. An the use of army is probably more engaged in suppressing any civil activists than being concerned about our safety at the borders. We can kiss Secularism goodbye.
Personal Opinion: The Democracy be becoming Majoritarian. The Muslims are becoming like a second class citizen much like it was for the Jews under Hitler.
Even today while I write this myTake there are rallies going on in numerous parts of the countries. Even in my city. Some of my friends on G@G are also from these cities - @alinakhanx0x @YourFutureEx @nbbn5
I pray for their safety. I hope the world is with us.
With this I conclude - Goodbye 2019, Goodbye Democracy, Goodbye Privacy & Goodbye Secularism
