I understand there are ideas with who has it worse but
let me say what I think about, when it comes to my gender

1. you must be the protector and provider.

It is not that I don't want to be, but I don't have a choice.
It is said that I have to be. Given one of the things with being a guy
is strength, which is for the most part true. I get that things are changing
and women now have black belts where men won't pick up and a gun and guys are stay at home moms while
women go to work for the family but its still there and a number of men posting this will confirm this fact

2. men are rapists, predators, and bigots

While that's that completely true, having girls speak that over you before they meet you, men are no good
and it for sure feels that way. I would much rather be a girl rather than get strange stares while walking down the street

Its nice how they really want more men in teaching in school but honestly is that really what he public wants...
I think for kids they want a safe woman to teach not a man that could be risky or dangerous...

I think its fair that say that with men it is a danger but being a guy, it does not feel good to have that on your back.

3. women and children first

this could play into 1. but its the idea that women are valued over men, we need to protect the women and the guys are required to do that.
But let me make this clear, it is right thing to do for a woman but to be a guy on the receiving end of that... it may feel good
but i'm the one playing with wolves while the woman sits in front the figurative crackling fireplace.
Maybe I could be bold to say that there are woman survivors and at the end of scary movies the girl makes it so... can't she be fighting with me...?

4. Many positions once given to only men are now given to women.

This is amazing! I could not be more happier, but there is an idea that things once unqine to men are now neutral,
things that are unqine to men are becoming more and more acceptable to do as women too. Which is great in one sense,
but in another it makes you wonder about what's important and unique to you as a guy, as your gender. The question is, even posed to a girl, why is it good to be a guy specifically?
to answer that, I think helps to answer this whole idea. There are a number of things still unique to women and some by just by biology aka being pregnant is something special and unqine to women but both and have sex in a simlar way, while it can be aruged that guys dont have to carry the child, there is nothing special that happens for a guy, woman get parties and all the attention and the woman tries to bring the man in although, he really is not that signicfant that point
I would be glad to hear that in a positive way, that guys have something uniqne to them in this day and age.

5. Girls have control over selecting guys.

While its true that guys can dump girls, guys don't get anywhere in a relationship without a girl saying so and from what I have observed, girls won't accept a guy as fast a guy will accept a girl

These are just a few and I honestly want some push back and/or conversation about it. I would like to know what you guys think about this. Is part of what I am saying true or am I making too many assumptions :)
please let me know what you think about this... I have a feeling that I will get a lot posts against this :) but I did want to stir up conversation and see where this goes. I did not make a very detailed or complete list but just enough to see what people will say

1. It's true that guys are supposed to be better at physical aggression. That's not only a function of biology (men are larger and more muscular), but they are also raised that way. They rough house and play rough physical sports. They are always competing physically. They take more chances. Their traditional role models were soft spoken men of few words who would sock a bad guy in the jaw. They could handle deadly weapons like guns and knives. Men are imposing when they stand tall and coil their muscles in readiness.

Women are capable of learning defensive skills. But it's hard for them to come off as intimidating, given their physical appearance. The whole female super hero thing is kind of silly. Women are just smaller than men. Therefore, it is natural for them to fall back on a man for protection. It's like, who wouldn't feel safer if their henchman was a foot taller and weighed twice as much.

In reality, though, guys don't have to be built like super heroes to make women feel safe around them. I, for one, have never encountered a situation in which I had to physically defend a woman. I doubt if that's a common occurrence. A man can make a woman feel safe by merely putting his arm around her shoulder as they walk together, or give her his jacket when it gets chilly outside.

So I think it is merely a characteristic of the two genders for a woman to feel safe with her man and for the man to be ready, if need be, to stand between his woman and harm.

2. is related to #1. Guys are bigger and stronger. Women have to be wary because there ARE a few guys out there who would cause them harm if given the chance. The fact that women are attracted to masculinity, despite the risks, is amazing. The greatest miracle in the world is the fact that women are not only bad ass enough to take the risk of being intimate with a guy who could break them in two, but find it thrillingly erotic to be thoroughly used by such a beast. They put themselves at his mercy and trust that he won't harm them. It must be similar to the thrill of sky diving and trusting that your parachute will open.

3. is also related to #1. Biologically, women are the nurturers and men are the protectors. Men are programmed to put their women and children first in order to insure the survival of their offspring.

4. I think it's great that equal opportunity is now available to women.
When it comes to pregnancy, it's true that men don't have to carry and deliver the fetus. But it's also true that men can't have babies. I had never really thought about that until a professor pointed it out years ago. The unfair fact that women have to do all the work is balanced by the unfair fact that men can't. If a woman wants to have a baby, she can (unless she has a physical problem). If a man wants a baby, he needs a woman to provide one for him. A woman can decide to be a single mother. But a man who wants a baby is saddled with both the mother and the child.
I'm not pointing this stuff out to make it sound bad. I'm really saying that there is a balance. Both men and women are subjects of unfairness and advantage.

When it comes to expectant mothers getting special attention, I think that's fair. I would think that someone going through the pain, discomfort, stress and risk of pregnancy should be totally pampered and get tons of support. They sacrifice their bodies to bring new life into the world.

5. is related to #2. Women have to be wary. Beyond that, men and woman are equally subject to rejection. If it's easier for a woman to get laid, it doesn't mean that she can't be tossed aside like a piece of garbage afterward.
It's true that men get rejected more because it is usually up to them to make the first move. But women are subject to awful judgement no matter what they do. Some guys think all sexually active women are sluts. Those kind of guys are shit bags who don't deserve the blessings that are women. And on the other hand, women who are very choosy are called teases, mean bitches or frigid. Women are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
So I'm not going to cry too hard about how rough guys have it. Both men and women can and do suffer from rejection and bad treatment.

#2 it's the only real problem I have. I don't mind protecting. I've protected random strangers, so it's just part of my character. I think we should ALL protect each other. Providing is also not an issue, unless you're being taken advantage of. If you're getting something out of the deal, then it's perfectly fine. I'd also sacrifice my life not only for women and children, but other men. That's just part of my faith.

But being seen as a violent predator when I've never been violent in my life... that's the worst.

1. It's true that the ideal man is indeed the provider and the protector. However, it doesn't mean you're bound to be that way. Yes there is some social pressure and some people might even call you a loser, but you live for yourself and if something that other than being there provider and protector makes you happy, you can go for it.
2. We all know not all men are that way. We just remain cautious because you never know who is the bad one. Remember, we could trust a friend and be comfortable around them, but God Forbid if anything happens to her, people will blame HER for trusting him in the first place.
3. Go to any traditional household. Men get the food served first. I often had to give up the better pieces of meat in the curry because they are reserved for my brother. Our former maid comes from a very poverty-ridden village. Women in those households don't even eat and let the men eat if there's shortage of food. It's nothing unusual for a man living there to get married several times because their previous wife died from health complications that comes with such neglect. Women invest a lot of their energy in being a mother. Thanks to medical science improving now we don't have as much mothers dying from childbirth, but that rate was way higher long ago. Women have their own set of sacrifices too.

With all that being said, I think if a woman has any capability to step in to the role of saving someone, which might come in form of exceptional physical strength, professional training etc then they should be helping in saving people too.
4. Nothing much to do here if people consider something like mathematics as only a male thing. If masculinity depends on something that both genders are equally capable of then we can't do much about that being stripped away when more women take part in those activities and show that they are also just as much capable. Nonetheless men are still physically stronger, tend to do the more risky or physically demanding tasks, and I can think of a bunch of activities that are unique to men because I don't see a woman ever doing.

I'll address point by point:

1. We don't necessarily have to be protector and provider, but unfortunately, society pushes for it and honestly, I just don't see enough women truly denying that assumption as you'd think they would if they really wanted 100% equality.

2. It does feel that way at times. Guys just gotta be straight forward and careful nowadays to avoid trouble. I disagree on the teacher thing. male teachers are desperately needed, hell, teachers in general are in extremely high demand, it's just that the pay is so awful, and can be even worse off for guys bc of point #1.

3. If I understood this right, it seems there's an underlying sorta intimidation of woman as the savior/provider etc. role? Personally, yes, it can feel awkward. I would know as I am the one in college with a goal to be in advertising while my younger sister joined the army. My personal solution is being comedic. Sarcastic and kinda snarky. From what I know, the royal fool existed back in the day as more than just a sorta clown figure, but also as a subtle critique on the ruling class. Believe me when I say the internet has more than is fair share of people trying to make you feel weak and shit, with women most definitely being part of it. Hell, just the other week some woman tried that shit on me for no good reason. I was able to make her go from something like "awww want a tissue you lonely incel?" to "ok... wtf did I just read xD" For me, it as no less than tie, maybe a victory. No offence, but the art of comedy seems to really be a strong point of many men and in this era, we just gotta do it juuuust right in order to make it work to our advantage.

4. Eh, everyone has the potential to be something amazing. The problem is society not being patient enough to see this through. Guys that could of cured cancer or invented a phone that is actually innovative, like a holographic one, easily give up on that sorta stuff because there is zero care or sympathy for them, especially when they need it most. It's assumed they got it handled, but they don't. This causes them to give up, eventually dying and taking their rare hidden talents with them.

6. Big issue. But very true, and perhaps, a bubble that may one day pop. It's unfortunate the way society sees women simply because they have certain parts. Women and men are guilty of this too. I'm not going to pretend I know all women, as, I do not. But from what I've seen, women these days are in this sorta paradox where on one hand, they want somebody kind, gentle, and very understanding, even good with kids, but yet, refuse to date people who don't make as much money, even though they have the above traits and may make as much as them or more, but just need time. So then they wonder why these guys making a lot treat them like yesterdays trash and cheat easily. Not all the wealthier guys do that, but plenty they happen to specifically cherry pick do. I don't know what the appeal to sadistic guys are, but I have zero sympathy for those of the like to fall for some rich Joker (batman) like character. It's like pitying somebody who voluntarily jumped into a lava pit. So yah, of course you have perfectly good men staring over the lava pits, scratching their heads wondering why that got picked over them.

I'm happy to be a girl. Both genders have different unique hardships. I can't imagine the struggle of being a man and having the pressure of being 'provider' and 'protector'. I can't lie to you, that is what a lot of females appreciate in a man. Even though it's expected, if you feel like that's not who you are, then you don't have to do it. The gender wage gap does exist. That’s why MORE companies ARE hiring more women. Some still discriminate just on the basis that they’re sexist (which is also a reason it sucks to be a girl by the way, and guys have it easier). It is actually awesome being both the provider and protector. You feel the pressure on your shoulders but when your lady smiles at you it all goes away. Besides the women of today work and provide for the family (or at least pay for most of the important things they need). As an example, I would never ever date a woman who wants to be a housewife. The problem is feminism by extreme has pushed for preference, not equality. They aren't bothered about equal rights , in fact equal rights would hinder their agenda.
