We do. Blatant bullying (not subtle intimidation) can be considered Simple Assault, a misdemeanor. One definition of simple assault is: "Committing an act which places another in reasonable apprehension of immediately receiving a violent injury."
As far as I know adults don't commit suicide from being bullied like kids have done and probably will continue to do.
That doesn't mean adults should bully. And where do you think some of these kid bullies got their behavior from? The point is how can we tell kids it's wrong, but it's ok for adults to behave that way. All people need to be respectful, not just kids.
Suicide? Maybe not. Mass shootings - most certainly.
@soleil2666 very good point!!
@soleil2666 There are as many kids that are shooters as there are adults. You just don't see all of them on National News because of their ages.
@Daniela1982 Not sure I get your point - it is bullying that causes it for kids and adults. Adults might fixate on a grudge or transfer the blame onto a group not originally causing it - with children I suspect it accurately gets directed at original bullies.
Because if you’re being bullied as an adult, you need to deal with it yourself.
Omg I'm not being bullied as an adult. This is about ther message you send kids that bullying is okay if adults do it. Did you even read the whole take? How do we tell kids it's wrong and then shi it ourselves?
I didn’t claim you were being bullied? I mean you as in everybody.
Adult bullying is far less common than bullying among kids, and I think you should be able to handle that situation yourself. You’re a goddamn adult, you have no reason to be insecure and not speak up.
Still missing the point why should adults engage in behavior we tell kids is wrong? Lead by example!!
Where do you think kids learn that behavior from?
Which is BS. It's taking justice into your own hands and not asking the politics machine to resolve it at a societal level.
You can scare a bully away if within your power - you can't exactly beat them up in a dark alley without getting into trouble with the law.
The question is 'how acceptable is it to be bullied' - and 'what are the means you are allowed to use to defend yourself'.
@soleil2666 I can’t imagine you’re ever in a situation where simply saying “knock it off” with a stern look isn’t enough, at max a shove.
I’m also not saying bullying is okay. I’m saying you should be able to fuckin handle it as an adult though.
And im saying adults should behave the way they expect kids to behave
Yeah, adults should do a lot of shit. We don’t live in fairytale land however.
@bente2 Lol. You have no idea how much worse it can get
@soleil2666 you’re a fucking adult. If you’re being bullied nip it in the butt straight away. If that doesn’t work then just leave. You can do that you know.
Because society does not give a possible second outcome
Nobody's stopping you from addressing any adult.
Go ahead, go address them. See how it goes for you.
Because adults know it's wrong yet still engage in it just like any sort of criminal
Sheep mentality we follow where we are led by society and society tells us not to
When you're an adult, you should already be prepared to handle malicious idiots.
I don't get how people don't get that adults who bully send a message to kids that that's okay acceptable behavior. Isn't it a contradiction/ double standard to tell kids not to, but excuse adults who do?
The job of teaching children and settings examples falls squarely on parents and teachers. Nobody else should consider that in the slightest.
Nothing I ever do is ever in consideration of children, ever. They don't factor into my life in the slightest.
Still missing the point. But ok
I can only see two points that you are trying to make here.
1. Stop adults from bullying somehow because that contradicts teaching kids not to bully.
2. Stop teaching children not to bully because adults are not held to the same standard.
Personally, I think children should be taught lots of things that adults don't do in the hopes that they are the few children that actually listen to reason.
How exactly do you handle a violent criminal, the extreme version of the bully? Say, a drugs dealer? By shooting him?
It is nonsense to expect that to be that easy.
Because... I don't GET bullied by adults? LOL
Name calling is a form of bullying, but glad if that don't happen to you
Lay the hater out
Too many people are afraid of letting natural instincts out when NEEDED too
Oh I’ve addressed adult bullies before 👊🏽
Good for you! People expect kids to know better than to bully. But then do it themselves and justify it cuz they adults. All the more reason you should know better. Kids learn more from what they see, then what you tell them. So ain't gonna stop bullying till it stops across the board for everyone!!
Because most adults bully other adults and they figure at that pointvrhe ins being bullied can take it.
Because the adults who bully are the PC type the same ones who run the anti-bullying campaigns so stupid people are not going to call these idiots out.
Until it is done, it is a silent admission America was the bully in Iraq.
I never noticed the hypocrisy of it before
Because people excuse it more in adults while shaming kids. But kids are still learning and adults should already know better. And how much of bullying done by kids learned from or picked up from adults behavior?
Good point
Thanks❣
I agree, most adults should already know better, but not all adults. And as for how much, I think it varies.
I address adults who bully 😎
As we should, so I personally thank you❣
Happy to help 😉
Bullying teaches a person to stand up for themselves. When your properly an adult no one can bully you
because they carry diseases. get pregnant and become a drain on society...
Cause the world ran by bullies.
Or so we think when being defeatist. It's only run by bullies if we accept that.
My mom addressed an adult teacher who bullied me.
