Okay so lets be honest here. Everyone has blown this shit up what nore than it needs to be. The government is trying to quarantine everyone to preveng it from spreading, but buying a bunch of toilet paper and hand sanitizer isn't gonna do anything for you. These are a few reasons why i think everyone is being overdramatic.

#1 The Flu kills more people annually than corona has

#2 If we use all of iur resources now (SUCH AS TOILET PAPER!!) No one is gonna have any when all of this is over with

#3 It only really affects older people. Now, Im not saying that I wabt older people to get it, but im saying that if you wash your damn habds, dont touch on yourself or others, you will be fine and most likely prevebt from spreading it to them.

#5 As of right now, it isn't air born. As long as you dont touch others, or dirty things you should be fine. This is where your parents and kindergarten teachers shouldve taught you to keep your hands to yourself

Thats just a couple of reasons.

Now a lot of people will probably be like "But its killing people, its not good!" But it isn't killing as many people as the flu did, and people are over buying things and freaking out like its the apocolypse. Even the schools closing. The coronavirus will affect us under i think they said 50? But it will seriously affect older people. That's why they shut down the schools is so we dont pass it to older teachers. In the mean time we should let the government firgure out how to handle it, find the cure or just wait till it dies down.

One thing that sucks abiut our society is that almost everybody believes everything they reas ob the internet. Hell, the internet says men can get pregnant. I have gotten notifications from google saying "How to prevent Covid-19 from spreading" and when i clicked it, all it said was to wash your hands and dont touch others. Never did it say buy a bunch of shit and be selfish so actual intellegent people can't live their lives. This is why you should have good hygiene, wash yiur hands, brush your teeth, simple things.

the media is running with this for political reasons and also because they lost a lot of their audience by being full of shit and politically biased in their "reporting". They're using this to get viewership back because they got everyone so scared, that they feel forced to listen to the news to keep updated. Nope I disagree and here is why the world needs to be concerned with the Corona Virus:

1. Sure the Influenza virus has killed hundreds of thousands of people, but it has also evolved over hundreds of years—the corona virus is fairly new and is killing people has a much faster, dangerous pace. As of 04/02/20, there has been about a million people tested positive worldwide. This is a hard statistic to take in considering that COVID-19 has been around for about a few years (2018). Corona viruses have been discover to have evolved since the 1960s, but this strain is killing people at a much faster rate.

2. Toilet paper isn’t going to run out anytime soon, trust me I work at a grocery store. If toilet paper runs out, we will need to reconsider our options. We can always use and reuse old rags.

3. What you said in 3 is outdated. COVID-19 doesn’t only effect older people, it can and will effect anyone that gets it. With new information gathered from the previous few months, there has been hundreds of cases where middle-aged and young adults have been infected by the virus, and have died. You are not safe and this thought us screwing us all in the process. The thought that only old people will get infected, therefore they will die. Nope, do your research.

4. This disease is airborne—to an extent. Ok I’ll give you an example. If you lock 20 people up in a room together with 1 infected person, micro water molecules will circulate the environment/every square inch of that room at a rapid rate if there is no airflow. Every sneeze, breath, cough, word that infected person says in the room will eventually reach others. Social distancing is a precaution and is absolutely necessary for this virus. Anybody who does not agree with this is obviously not educated enough to accept these social changes that everybody should be making.

Stop comparing COVID-19 to the flu because it is not the flu. We are way beyond that point. I don’t believe that everyone is a bit dramatic. Listen, it’s unfair. I’m a senior in high school the last place I want to be is stuck at home unable to go to prom, the beach, the mall, or possibly walk across the stage at graduation. You could be in a much worse situation. You should be grateful that you are healthy, because you don’t want this virus.

You should check with the American Director of Infectious Diseases, he says they expect 480,000 Americans to die from COVID-19, which is way more the the annual deaths from influenza. He says this Corona Virus is just in it's infancy and will grow at an exponentially high rate of growth.

They are just buying more so they don't have to go out and buy it every week, which is wise because it limits contact with other people and thereby limits spread of the virus.

#3 It only really affects older people. - first of all, this is a really selfish comment. Secondly, this sort of attitude just results in more spread of the disease, which results in more people dying. And finally, you're wrong if you think it only affects old people; there are plenty of cases of younger people getting very sick and some of them dying.

What irks me is people downplaying this. Little gets me as mad as this stuff. I get my news from alternative sources, not the mainstream. But the mainstream stuff I have seen is not being dramatic at all. Simple facts about mortality, infection rates, areas affected, etc, except with less detail.

When they have a headline that says “Italy sees 500 deaths in one day” that admittedly is an attention grabbing headline, but in no way is it a lie – and what they don’t tell you is the more obscure but in my opinion more important information that Italy’s closed case mortality was at 47%. That shit is panic numbers, and that’s probably why they don’t put it on the news. Honestly, the mainstream news I’ve seen seems to be trying to keep everyone informed and calm more than anything. Then there’s some outlets politicizing it and blaming Trump and shit like that. But I don’t count that as the fearmongering hysteria we’re talking about.
