Everyone getting a bail out sounds great right a nice cool $1,000 in your mailbox for your troubles of forced quarantine. Annnnnd it’s gone a few weeks later. Now what? We blew through $1 trillion in that short period of time. How long is this virus going to last? Is the government going to cut us checks like this for the next year? They act like its going to pass in a month!! They are printing this money (inflation!) (shortages!) we have a big problem here folks especially since no one saved for a rainy day and we are all lining up at the printing press with our hands out (companies included) this is unprecedented and very bleak God help us all

It's not a problem it's only 1 trillion they still have about 20 trillion left after all 30 trillion went missing from the treasurer and some of it was used to pro up was Street why the long run until this virus killed it so what's a trillion given back to the people it's our money rather see it given to the people of this country than a foreign one or for some weapons is mass destruction that could get out of hand causing up to have to remain indoors for weeks that's wasteful spending, Billibil on ways to kill a lot of people I don't know and never did anything to me politicians start conflicts not the people and it's our money!

Alaska has been doing this for decades. Do you want this money being decided by the government or in your own hands? That was the basic argument from a Republican governor that created the PFD. It comes from all the oil industry.

The money has to come from somewhere like not bombing a third world civilians. So it sounds like a double positive for me. So $146.4 billion is going to be printed this year regardless of anything. Most years it goes into the military industrial complex or go anywhere else the government spends money. That part of the government can get some trimming off to help everyone right now.

The stimulus checks are coming from money that we (the people who qualify) have put into the system. IE: Social Security, Unemployment, IRA, & Workers Comp deductions depending on what State you're in. They're not "printing money" to cover this, they are pulling it from the reserves we add to every payday. It's not a debt, it's more like an advance, or loan on our own money. It's not anywhere near as "frightening " as you explained it. Worse case scenario? We get shorted the last two or three Social Security checks we had coming but since there is no limit to how many SSI checks we can receive, we'll be dead before we have to worry about it.

The entire world is in the same boat and all are going to try to print themselves out of it… Thus it shouldn’t screw exchange rate too much at the end of the day. It will dilute wealth and debt… If wages rise it could actually be a good thing for the lower and middle class.

I would only say we are screwed if this continues after the virus blows over. It doesn’t even apply to everyone last I checked. People who make under a certain amount will get this.

Under any other circumstance, I would abhor this decision but since the US has reached an unemployment rate of 20% and climbing because of this stupid virus then I am not sure if we have any other choice.
