For me, being "average" is literally the worst thing a person can accept being. I attribute it to valuelessness and being objectively replaceable, disposable, and without worth whatsoever. It's more of a mindset to me than someone being a "celebrity" or CEO; I don't judge it based on your monetary worth or anything, but rather, how much one contributes to their society. Subjectively, some people are extraordinary and amazing to the ones who know them best. I'm not talking about them, either. I mean people who are happy/content to be average/worthless/replaceable.
In other words, it's similar to selfishness, where someone can just leech off of society and contribute nothing back to the greater whole. That's what "average" means to me in society. I'll never understand how anyone could fine thinking of themselves as an "average" human being; as if saying their life literally has no value because of how replaceable they are and how they contribute nothing to society (hence, are "average").
Only a few people really contribute to the greater development of mankind; the soldiers, the doctors, the lawyers, the world leaders, the farmers, etc. While "average" people have their uses collectively, they have no value as individuals, in my opinion. This is why I don't understand why people can call themselves such (unless deluded about how many people 7.5 billion is, on the planet).
If you're willfully "average," you are but a slave to the system and barely a functional cog in the machine. You cannot complain, as you give up your right to matter. You are another worker ant in the colony. You do not matter individually. You are nothing. This is why I'll never understand the people who don't aspire to be anything more than "average," or "worthless worker drones."
You don't always have to be exceptional or great at what you do. Not everyone needs to go out and try to save the world. But you should always be striving to better yourself and not be complacent being worthless. A complacent society is a society that stops growing, and eventually, stops functioning. I'll never understand the people who just stop trying and skate by on "meh, good enough."

While big or shoor are negative words, avarage is about the most posetiv word in our entire vocabulary, them who think otherwise are energy of mankind. The modest guy is our time hero, and will be treated so too. Perhaps some shallow immature women think otherwise, but why build our faith in the lowest common denominator shallow women
Interestingly, in the Netherlands, being “not average” is sort of frowned upon and there is a certain notion that you should generally just act average and nothing else.
I personally do not consider average as optimal.
Which is ironic as they're generally taller, more attractive, and longer lived than just about everyone else in the world. They should all be hypocrites then, since they are genetically above average compared to all other populations of humans on the planet. and yet don't mind this "negative" about themselves
Yeah no obviously this perspective on being average is inherently related to within the country instead of between-countries.
