@MudRucker , you cannot legislate hate or animus out of people, you cannot legislate their thoughts or ideas, therefore you cannot legislate racism out of existence, only the outward manifestations of racism will be affected, the racism will still be there, seething, boiling hatred.

If you stop teaching racism to kids on tv and in school the vast majority will never consider it, and the tiny minority taught it by their parents will be isolated and alienated, and probably see that it doesn't help or make sense.
It's like a bad meme. The more you share it the more it spreads. All you can do is ignore it till it goes away.
Don't ignore the effects. Make sure discrimination is punished. But you can't stop the spread of an idea by teaching it to kids. 🤦🏼♂️

@Juxtapose you don't have any thoughts? As for "consequences," the consequences have played out through out history. When Free Speech is allowed, racists and bigots inferior ideas will always lose. They can ONLY survive in a society with censorship. But those are real consequences, now the censors want to label censorship as "consequences."
Simply calling censorship "consequences," "curation," or another euphamism will not change what it is.
