Climate Change is Happening and Caused by Humans, New IPCC Report Says

A 42 page report was just released by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) this week. This is a panel of the world's smartest client scientists from 190 countries on Earth, examining every spec of climate data available and have come to an agreement in this report.

It is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, ocean and land.
Widespread and rapid changes in the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere and biosphere
have occurred.

  • Climate change is real and it is caused by human activity
  • The atmosphere, water, and land surface are hotter then they were
  • The current climate is NOT due to natural phenomena such as volcanic activity, solar cycles, etc.
  • Climate change is already affecting every inhabited region across the globe
  • Increased and more extreme climate conditions are happing more frequently and will continue to increase
  • Increase in droughts happening across half the planet
  • Much of the damage is already done and some of it is irreversible
  • Increase flooding happening across many parts of the Earth
  • A 50-year climate catastrophe is now 40 percent more likely then they were 50 years ago
  • Every tonne of CO2 emission adds to global warming (there is a direct, linear correlation between CO2 and temperature)
  • The best case scenario is the Earth temperature will increase by 1.2 degrees C in 20 years.
  • Worst case scenario is the Earth temperature increases by 5.7 degrees C in 80 years.
  • Worst case scenario is no ice will remain in the arctic in the not-too-distant future.'
  • Cascading effects trigger severe climate events from other severe climate events
  • 2.5-trillion tons of carbon since 1850 have been released and caused a 1-degree C global temperature increase.

How we know it is human caused

Climate Change is Happening and Caused by Humans, New IPCC Report Says

Global surface temperature will continue to increase until at least the mid-century
under all emissions scenarios considered. Global warming of 1.5°C and 2°C will be
exceeded during the 21st century unless deep reductions in CO2 and other greenhouse
gas emissions occur in the coming decades.

All natural climate changers accounted for show how our climate would have changed (in blue).

Many changes in the climate system become larger in direct relation to increasing global
warming. They include increases in the frequency and intensity of hot extremes, marine
heatwaves, and heavy precipitation, agricultural and ecological droughts in some
regions, and proportion of intense tropical cyclones, as well as reductions in Arctic sea
ice, snow cover and permafrost
