Abortions should be legal and here’s why.

I’ll start of my saying I don’t agree with abortions as a form of birth control. But there are too many circumstances in which they are needed to make them illegal. I know a lot of people are going to be upset about this, but just hear me out.

1. We don’t know when life starts, during conception or the third trimester or birth. It’s all speculation. There’s no scientific definition of when a fetus is considered an alive human being. So it comes down to personal beliefs, which a lot of times is based in religion. Religious beliefs should be kept out of politics.

2. Banning abortions won’t stop abortions, just the safe ones. When people are desperate they will put their life at risk.

3. they’ll start investigating miscarriages. Not only would this put added stress onto a mother who lost her child, but she could go to jail for something she had no control over. Are you all ready to take that risk for a personal opinion?

4. Many people who are anti abortion aren’t willing to provide support to the women who are forced to become mothers. An unwanted baby is going to go in to the foster system, which often times is not a good circumstance to live in. If you are planning on making the woman keep the baby, you have to be willing to give her money for support.

5. So many women and girls will suffer, and the children they are forced to carry. What about the 14 year old who accidentally got pregnant? Are you going to make a child birth a baby? “Oh well then she shouldn’t have had sex” You know the one who got her pregnant was also involved in the process right? Women don’t get pregnant on their own.

6. It’s contradictory. It’s mostly republicans standing up for abortion bans. Aren’t you guys supposed to be against government involvement in personal affairs? And many of you don’t support raising taxes, so how do you expect the forced mothers to care for their children without money? They go hand in hand. You can’t make people have kids without letting them be able to be cared for.

7. Your argument of “well if she didn’t want to get pregnant she shouldn’t have had sex” is invalid. Saying that implies that the only reason to ever have sex is to have children. You know it takes two to make a baby right? Men participate. Maybe he shouldn’t have had sex if he didn’t want to stay with this woman and raise their baby. Are you going to force the fathers to take care of the children? Probably not, so why would you make the women do it. Also, women are shamed for having kids too young, too old, with a bad guy, or even outside of marriage. So are you men prepared to never have sex unless you are married and actively trying to make a baby?

8. Have you heard of Roe v. Wade? If not I suggest you look it up. The decision on that case is something I believe should be the basis for abortion laws.

Anyway, that’s all the major reasons I don’t support abortion bans. I will say I do agree with many of the situations where women should not be having abortions, but these outweighs that. I think instead of banning abortions, we should be trying to keep the number of unwanted pregnancies down. We need to educate people more on birth control, provide accessible health care for these sorts of things, and give people access to birth control even when they’re young. Stopping the problem at the source instead of dealing with the symptoms would be a much more effective way to prevent abortions. And I think that is a middle ground both sides can agree on.

To each their own. Even if I did get pregnant, at 16, I would not abort my baby. Actions have consequences. Yes, it does take two to tango, but it was my responsibility to have taken the Plan B pill/ be on birth control, which I forgot to. I was careless, but I'd gladly take the responsibility and raise the child on my own. Most of you may ask: "Oh, you've got a whole life ahead of you, if abortion is a choice, why don't you abort the baby? You would have a good life then" Sorry, I do not want to take the risk. Abortion has many side effects, and I could potentially even become infertile. Sepsis, uterus infection and all those are some of the common side effects.

I agree with the foster care system one. Some children are abused. The mother should also be in a good mental state to carry the baby up to term. But, you're saying that the man participated in sex too, but whose responsibility was it to take the Plan B pill or be on birth control? Why didn't they use condom? That's what condoms are for right? It is a contraceptive method to prevent pregnancy. I don't think 14 year olds should ever be having sex. Why do they go to school? To get pregnant? It is the responsibility of the school and parents to teach their kids how to have safe sex. I understand that most teenagers, when they are like 13 or 14 are sexually curious and would want to 'explore' or 'experiment' things with the opposite sex, but parents should teach their kids safe sex. They should not shy away from explaining it. In my school, sometimes 13 and 14 year olds hookup, I'm sorry, but I don't think that is what children should be doing at that age. They're too young, and I'm assuming they do not know anything about contraception.

As I said, I am on a fence with this one, but I do not agree with the part where you said about 14 year old girls having babies. You cannot justify that. 14 year olds should not be having sex. Period.

Typically speaking, your average pro-choice member of the public will say, and probably believe, that the baby being removed is just a clump of cells or just a clump of fetal tissues. What does it actually look like?


As early as an abortion can be performed, the baby has to be reconstructed to be certain that it is all there. Now, think about that. Six weeks, they have to be sure that the little head is there, and that the little limbs are there. Yes, they may be paraffin-like, but they’re there, translucent, but they’re there–and you have to check. And as they get older and larger of course, muscle structure is much stronger, but at every level you have to be certain that every baby’s body part has been removed. And when they’re twelve weeks old, you reconstruct them. You reconstruct a baby and leave it on an under-pad right there to be certain that you got it all.


What was it like to actually see a baby after an abortion?


They’re always destroyed, the baby’s body parts are always destroyed. Unless they’re a second or third trimester abortion, then they’re so strong they won’t come apart.

Ok look. Some abortions acceptable sure. But the original plan was safe, legal, rare… today young women and girls cheer about getting abortions. They celebrate it on social media. They use it far too often as a way to avoid the consequences of their choices. And it’s not completely their fault, in many cases these dumb kids are raised improperly by dumb parents.


I know we don’t like consequences but that’s all the more there needs to be consequences. Accountability is far too sparse in today’s world. If we legalize it we have dumb kids joking about it and getting 3 4 5 abortions… meanwhile if we make it unlawful we see “consequences” that sometimes cost decades is suffering… but it is not our responsibility to manage someone else’s suffering. Got this real I am pro life.

If a man shoots a pregnant woman and she loses the baby but she survives he’ll be charged with the murder of the baby. It’s a baby because she wanted to keep it.

1. we don't know what life is or what makes a human a human, we still have murder laws. All we need to know when an abortion is murder here is taking heed of jurisprudence.

7. Shitty argument, the baby isn't the mother, in all countries the biological father is liable for his biological children, sometimes the husband responsibility precedes the biological father. And in most of the west, the woman has as much responsibility over a child with an unnamed father as she wants, being free to give it away.

8. Yes, and it's a stupid decision. Also the woman ("roe") recanted her story. So it's based on a lie. Just because of that it means it should be overturned, even if abortion is to remain legal. Note that the DNC has plenty of opportunities to make abortion legal in the federal level through the proper channels and refused to do so.

I’ll start by saying that I’m personally against abortion. I’ve always felt that it was morally wrong and it’s a choice I would never make for myself. However, I have reservations about making it illegal. We already know from the pre-Roe days that women will still seek abortions and there will be people willing to perform them who may not be qualified to do so, regardless of what the law says. So let qualified medical professionals perform them safely if they’re going to be done. I’m also not eager to lock up young women who made a choice out of desperation. How does that change hearts and minds? We also know the foster system in this country is completely inadequate and the monetary cost of adoption makes that an unrealistic option for the average family. So what kind of existence would we be forcing on many of these children? It’s not a black and white issue at all. I would ban the late term abortions but keep it legal in the first trimester for the reasons above.

Get over yourself, you don't have the right to kill another human being, Artificial Wombs will bring viability to conception, at which point women will be obligated - like men - to care for their children or face jail. Roe v. Wade and Casey were always ticking down to expiration because science is bringing viability closer and closer to the start of life.

It's human the moment it is conceived, the research is done, it has a full set of human DNA.

The "Government" doesn't decide this, science already did, and science will eventually - irrefutable and without any doubt - eventually make conception the point of viability.
