Where I live, everyone gives a seat to pregnant women, people with babies, 60y+ people and people with limited mobility, it is common sense.
When in this types of dilemma
best solution is ignore.

Nobody believes women deserve a seat more then men.
I actually do, but society will not accept it so I avoid women if possible
I deserve it.
Here's why:
If woman with a baby can't afford a car still having kids so it's not my fault! She must have ensured her finance before having kids.
Clearly, you don't live in a high density place with good public transport. Millions of people in London don't have a car, especially in central London; they're almost completely useless for short trips.
I'd give to whoever was nearest.
