"Bitch" is NOT a swear word!

Don't even get me started with Regular Show's infrequent usage of the terms "pissed off" and "dumbass". It is still nowhere on the same level as The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers, let alone Family Guy and South Park, in terms of crudeness. Regular Show even used the word "bitch" in one episode on Cartoon Network.

Now obviously context matters. You don't want to be caught dead calling your mother a bitch. This might come to a surprise to most folks, but there is actually one thing worse than that. Telling your parents they suck is worse than calling them a bitch (or a bastard) because sucking implies actual sexual tension, whereas the word "bitch" almost never implies anything sexual.

On paper it may seem like the word "bitch" is comparable to "shit" (and sometimes even the f-word or the c-word) in terms of offensiveness. But the vulgarity places shit above bitch due to its sole meaning being extremely rude to discuss in public. Swear words exist for a reason, but slang words are almost a completely different story.

Bitch, along with damn/hell, bastard, crap, ass, and sucks are context-dependent and can be used either rudely, idiomatically, or in their literal context. Sure you won't hear them in a Kidz Bop version of a song, or on Sesame Street, but remember that this doesn't make them "swear words".

I am sick and tired of prudes calling every single little thing a "swear (or cuss/curse) word". It is BULLSHIT. If you can say a word freely on TV (including daytime commercials) or on the radio, it likely isn't a swear word. Hell, even the word "shit" is used on certain AM-FM radio channels these days.

"Ass" and "piss" are more in the grey area, since it is technically the most offensive word for a person's rear end and urination (respectively), but other meanings imply neither one is a swear word, especially with "badass", "dumbass/smartass", and "pissed off". Both terms have been used on shows on Cartoon Network, Disney XD, and Nicktoons. Especially Regular Show.

So long as there's Bad-Ass Breakfast Burritos, the Dodge Hellcat, and Bitchin' Sauce, there's hardly any actual "swear words" left.
