Is "frick" a swear word?

My 8 year old brother was told to shut off the XBOX at 8pm and reset it in a little bit. While his parents were around and he was talking to a cousin of his, he said "What the frick was that?" and our mom and his dad told him not to "talk like that."

I'm kind of bugged that people still consider frick a bad word.

Not to mention his dad and even our mom uses actual cuss words around and sometimes to him.

I think it's pretty hypocritical considering they let him play E10 and even T rated games like Fortnite, Piggy, Minecraft..

Nah it's not. But it's the same mentality and means the same thing when said. So really if the kid is gonna say that he might as well say the word.
It's like saying fork all the time. You know your saying fuck and you know when your older you gonna say fuck like that in the same way. So really it's up to the parents to punish that mentally if they want.
Personally i would teach my kid when it's okay to swear and when not cause there gonna do it anyway so teaching them not to swear at people and where.
For example he can swear at a game if he is just annoyed by it because who cares, but he cannot swear at his teacher for been mad at him/her.
