What Is a Racist?

Everyone’s definition of the word ‘racist’ is different, making the term mostly meaningless. I’m not a racist by MY definition, which, in the end, is all that matters to me, anyway. Maybe you have asked yourself, “What even is a racist anyway?” The answer, or, at least, my answer, really is simple. For various reasons everyone makes it far more complicated than it needs to be. So, I consulted our robot overlords and AI first to get a summary of thinking on it.

According to GROK, a racist is “a person who believes in or promotes the superiority of one race over others, often exhibiting behavior or attitudes that reflect racial discrimination or prejudice.” That's close, but maybe a little weak and general.

Chat GPT says, “A racist is someone who believes that people of different races are inherently superior or inferior to one another, or who discriminates against, mistreats, or shows prejudice toward others based on their race, ethnicity, or skin color.” That's better.

Google AI defines a racist as “a person who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.” Like GROK, its good hinting, but not enough red meat.

What is “superiority” anyway? With exceptions, blacks are generally superior to whites in certain arts and music and in sports that require a specific kind of athleticism. Is it racist to notice this? Whites, as a group tend to be better at some things too. Even in Trump’s America, we are probably not supposed to think or say that or what those things are.

Lefties famously defines a racist as anyone who disagrees with them. Racist has become an all-encompassing smear. They, and even some on the right, have weaponized the term, broadening it to absurdity and thus rendering it meaningless. Real racists should thank them, if most people even knew what a real racist is.

I'll take a shot. I think my definition is the best: "A racist is someone who hates people of other races and wishes or even delivers to them ill-will simply on the basis of that ingrained characteristic." That is a narrow, but accurate, definition. There are real racists out there, of all races, and they are wrong to believe that way.

No matter what generalities exist among people groups on earth, there are always exceptions and the only proper way to treat other people is as individuals, not as members of a racial group. Nobody deserves to be mistreated based on how God made them.

Now what is NOT racist as I see it? Several things currently declared racist by most of society are not, in fact, actually racist based on my own definition. Here are a few of them.

• Is it racist to want to end race-based preferences imposed by governments?
• Is it racist to oppose Third World immigration?
  Is it racist to avoid certain, uh, dangerous parts of town that happen to be inhabited by persons of another race?
• Is it racist to prefer your children marry someone of your own race so your descendants look like your ancestors?
• Is it racist to notice and even call out patterns of behavior, like crime, that seem far too predominant in certain racial groups without being unnecessarily disparaging?
• Is it racist to observe and understand average racial differences, understanding that there are always exceptions?
• Is it racist to prefer to live in a country or area with a majority (but not necessarily exclusive) population of your own race?
• Is it racist to desire your own race to survive and even thrive?

I believe the answer is ‘no’ to all of those questions and plenty of others like them. It is possible to generally agree with all those concepts without having true animosity towards other races or desiring to harm them in any way.

Do people who DO hate other races also believe those things? Perhaps, but believing those things does make someone a racist. After all, real racists probably would answer a hearty “yes” to those questions and not be the least bit ashamed.

It’s time to stop allowing lefties and the befuddled right to define terms like this for us and then weaponize them against us. A racist is a very specific thing. If you don’t believe you are one, you probably aren’t. So stand for what you believe, unashamedly, and don’t let them convince you differently.

It is favoring one race over another.

When one group is given preference over another one it is racism. When people of a certain group are included in a group over a different group it is racism.

When one group is excluded from a group , that is also racism.

I'd like my definition better. A lot of that stuff really moves into the area of discrimination and bigotry. I kind of like to keep racism where it belongs. For example, slavery was racism. Simple as that. But deciding that I do not support affirmative action is not racism

If we go back to its basic meaning, it's discriminating against or showing hostility toward a group of people or a nation because of what they are, rather than what they do, then the treatment of Israel in international politics fits that description.

When more than half the UN members apply one set of standards to every country on earth and another to Israel alone, that is discrimination by nationality. Under the UN Charter, all states are supposed to enjoy sovereign equality, yet Israel has been condemned in hundreds of resolutions for actions that bring no reaction at all when done by others. That is not debate about policy, that is racist prejudice.

You don’t have to read motives to see it. The pattern is measurable:
repeated denunciations, refusal to recognize Israel’s legal sovereignty even where not one but three independent doctrines of international law support it, and open support for organizations whose stated goal is to erase the Jewish state.
When people justify that double standard only because the nation is Jewish, it crosses the line from political bias into racism in the literal sense, discrimination against a people or state because of its identity.

So yes, words like racist and discrimination are often misused. But when a state is singled out for condemnation, denied rights that others enjoy, and attacked legally and rhetorically because of who its people are, that is exactly what those words were meant to describe.

It's complicated. When Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd, the left wing media said that was very racist, because the cop was white and Floyd was black. When Capitol police Lieutenant Michael Bryd shot and killed an un-armed Asli Babbitt, that was not racist because the cop was black and the victim was white.

Racism: The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.

Thus to be a racist, you must believe the reason a person has specific character or ability is because of their race AND that a race is superior to another race.

So if you're the type of person that has thoughts like, well the reason he's a criminal is because he's Black, he doesn't know no better... We should make special rules to keep Blacks out of jail, because you can't punish them the same way you punish Whites for crimes. Clearly Blacks will commit all sorts of crimes, because they're Black after all so we should try to keep them out of jail unless they do something really serious. But Whites are so much more superior and thus they aren't criminals by racial inclination, therefore you should punish Whites normally under the law because they know better.

That would be racist. So basically what they do in every single Democrat city is racist.

I was taking the bus once and some 5yo black girl with her mom started saying something like, “white people aren’t as fast as us, they aren’t as strong as us” all the white peoples on the bus looked so awkward after that because her mom was teaching her racism. Like you said about sports and music, to say this is genetic not taught behavior makes you seem racist tbh. Because you’re not understanding the true picture. Everyone in pro sports probably started real young, everyone in music probably had exposure early on. I work in tech and a lot of CEOs were taught by their fathers, same goes for trades. You have to remember that in our country natives and Mexicans were forcibly evicted from their ancestral lands, blacks were brought here as slaves, and whites have the run of the mill, everything from slave owners to pirates and indentured servants. I personally believe in 5 races: white, olive, tan, red/brown, and black. I believe East Asians and Mediterraneans are subsets of the same Eurasian race, while the true white race is northerners with light hair and blue eyes. In my view Ethiopians, Indians and native Americans (full) are all the same race. Anyone who is Arab skin tone is the same race too. Because race to me is skin color. Being a member of the Tan Race, I know it takes time to change😉

In my own words: Racism is the misuse of human pattern recognition. When the first exposure to a certain race it makes one prone to view other people of that race the same way, sometimes to the point where they declare that race as inferior.

The only cure is the realization that everyone is an individual with their own thoughts, goals, interests and views and that it is unfair and unethical to treat other people who are of that race as if they were responsible for the actions of other people.
