Were/are you a naive teenager?

Question

Personally, I think I am fairly naive, but definitely not the most naive out there, especially compared to some of my friends.
What about you?
Were/are you a naive teenager or a naive person in general?

I wasn't naive about sex at all (I had been actively interested since I was 10 or 11, and read everything I could get my hands on back in pre-Internet times).

I was quite naive about how women thought and what they wanted. Like most guys, I tried to understand women's actions and words by using a male perspective (without realizing it, because I didn't understand the female perspective then), and of course, that meant that I made tons of bad assumptions that led to many failures and mistakes with girls.

I was lucky to have gotten enough experience with girls (much of it by simply talking to them) that I eventually made some breakthroughs and came to the realization that most of the assumptions I had made were completely wrong. I still hadn't figured out women's actual perspective in a complete way, but I had enough data to know that my previous perspective was dead wrong. Over the next few years, I actively fleshed out women's thinking by asking more targeted questions and focusing my reading, and eventually, by my late 20s, I had it figured out.

What I would give to have been able to teach my 15-year-old self what I know now...

For you teens, you have NO IDEA what an advantage you have with the Internet, and being able to access knowledge that simply wasn't talked about when I was a kid - at least not publicly. The real question is: will you listen and learn - and be willing to abandon what you THINK you know when reality shows it to be false, and to learn from the wisdom of people who have learned it the hard way? Sadly, I think a lot of you will be as stubborn as I was back then - and you'll make a ton of mistakes and bring a lot of pain and frustration on yourselves as a result.

I think that as a kid and even a teenager I was not only naive but also heavily absent-minded. Like, I'd not catch on to things other people would catch on fairly quickly - kind of makes me think whether I was retarded or not lol. But somehow I have seemingly grown out of it.

Somewhat but I had moments where I was too strict and didn't give a 2nd second if someone tried messing with me during my HS years.

The reason is because at the time, the 7th grade social bullying events was still fresh (I was still pissed off at the time) and I was sick of tired of getting laughed at so for a while, I became an ''If you have nothing nice to say, let lost''.

Needless to say, I was still somewhat naive and graduated from HS still being a virgin. I lost it 3 months shy of my 20th b-day.

No I wasn't. I was also told I was 'wise beyond my years', and I had grew up from that very quickly since kindergarden. Before I started school for the first time, I always wanted to make friends with everybody. But you know what the reality is. The only thing I regretted was not stepping up for myself more.

If you mean intelligence wise, I think I'm not naive. But otherwise, I think I am a little naive- but who isn't/wasn't?
by the way I just became a teenager, so I probably haven't been exposed to too many situations that bring out my naivety*

... see, theoretically if I'm naive I'm not supposed to be able to tell. Seeing as naiveté is being very sure and confident about something, it would be impossible to remain naive while believing you are naive, because that's a lack of confidence if u think you're naive.

But I definitely WAS naive growing up. I could still be and not know it too.

I was in high school!! But since then I have had a few personal experiences that have helped "open my eyes". I'm much more open minded and accepting of things and I am aware that you need to work in order to achieve things.
I feel like these are things school can't teach you.

So I have rule now not to get close to anyone online, no photos, and no personal information, cuz I trust people too easy and always make bad decisions. :/

I was more naive than some until about 16 then I got less and less naive each year. I'm still naive about a lot of business/politics/policies etc, but the eye opening "oh my gawdddd" moments happen less haha.

I do think if I knew what I knew now a lot of things I wouldn't have done and even the bad decisions some I wouldn't have made, but thats life and the more you live the more you learn and i'm okay with that.

I'm sure I'm naive about a lot of things, but I don't feel that naive since I've been working for a couple of years now and I got my own place. And I think I have a decent amount of life experience compared to some people my age.

Yes. I still am at some things in life.

But it's good you're not full of yourself and are willing to look at your deficiencies. That's how you grow. Someone who thinks they are awesome at everything never gets better at anything.

Yes, pretty naive. I didn't know about two-faced people, and manipulative PC type of people... though when I was a teenager, there weren't QUITE so many of them as we have today!
