A child whether it be a boy or a girl needs a father figure in their lives. It's the same like raising a child wheter it be a boy or girl without a mother in their life. Othewise they will grow up with only one parent and never have experience of being raised by both a father and a mother or vice vesa.

As important as mothers. Children with fathers positively involved in their lives do better in school and have better health than children who don't have a father figure.
Yes very important while it is possible to be raised without a father and turn out well, you are statistically more likely to turn out poorly in a single parent household that's not to say that there aren't hose who don't turn out well regardless but still the risk of issues increases
Good parent's are important. It doesn't matter what gender a parent is or are. All that matters is that the child is raised in a loving supportive environment that fosters growth.
Yes... I think them not being in their kids lives (divorced/separated families) are the reason why society is going to shit... more violence/robberies/dysfunctional relationships.
They can be, a single mom can raise a child well by herself but having a father can really affect the child positively or negatively depending on if he's a good father

It depends on the type of father he is. If he's a good one then he's just as vital as the mom.
Yes, fathers are one of the prime role models. Children need to be able to study both parents. If the father is not there then the sons have an excuse to behave like bastards.
To be fair, I think it is from enduring so much pain that you were able to become so exceedingly kind, loving, and compassionate to the feelings of others. So in a way, your father's shortcomings actually made you a better person in the end.
ummm... who teaches a boy to be a decent man, his mom? who techs a boy to be caring and respectful towards women, his drunken asshole father? it can be done with one. taken as a societal issue, both are needed
@Bretsky How about instead of teaching him to be a decent man, we teach him to be a decent PERSON? The notion that you need a parent of a certain gender to teach a child how to act like that gender, is just down-right ridiculous. A mother can do it just as well as a father can, and a father can do it just as well as a mother can.
@Bretsky I never expected fewer sexist ideals from a man of your era. Where I come from, people have the right to choose what they want to make of themselves. It isn't predetermined by their genitals.
@ShortCircuit, actually it is. Thats why we invinted the word (s) to reference our sex. It has no significance outside of that. Use a different term if it bugs you.

Yes they are. They have to provide affections to their kids. That does a lot for a kid.
Yes very. Crime statistics and teen pregnancy statistics will probably back up how important they are.

amen brother!

When the father is still around, yes. My dad has taught me some very important things in life but he has also been my stronghold in a lot of things

Extremely important.
Most definitely.
Every child needs a father figure which is always there to support them and discipline them. Especially guys.

Both a mother and a father are extremely important.
Of course, very important. To know that generally children only listen to their father and not their mother, if they have no father wouldn't be great.
Absolutely. I should know, my dad screwed me up haha. Sometimes I wonder how different I would be if I had a good, loving father.

@xXJRICHARDS1996Xx Oh my word that is so sweet of you to say. Thank you, I really needed to hear that.
yes. a child needs a No the and a father. Besides you can't make a child without a man being involved. so its common sense.
It only really takes one person to raise a child. However, that person could be a mother or a father - neither are more important than the other.

@ShortCircuit, lol no it's not ridiculous, it never has been.
nope. men and women are different, and different behaviors are expected of them. denying this will change exactly nothing
👆Dis right 'ere.
