Would you more upset/angered to see a woman hitting a man, or a man hitting a woman?

Question

You're out and about, and you see a couple having a heated argument. In a fit of anger, one person slaps the other hard across the face.

What is your first, knee-jerk reaction if the hitter is the woman?
If the hitter is the man?

Please answer honestly; not how you think or believe you should answer, but according to your genuine initial feeling.

Depending of course on the situation at hand, I don't think I'd make a move after just one hit, regardless of who it was that hit the other, unless it was such a heavy hit that the one receiving it would get knocked down or even knocked out. I would certainly keep an eye on the couple and if it looked like a full-blown brawl or one repeatedly hitting the other was about to happen then I'd move to intercept, regardless of who hit who the assailant was. As for personal feelings on the matter, I doubt I'd be angry either way, disappointed perhaps, but not angry.

Personally, I would feel more upset seeing a woman get hit. That’s how I would feel in my mind which contradicts how I would react in reality and how I would approach the situation. If the guy got hit and he responded with force, I would be applauding him for doing so. But I can’t lie and say that I wouldn’t be more upset seeing a woman get hit, probably biological.

My first thought at seeing a man get hit might be that the woman is unstable and disrespectful, while a woman getting hit makes me view the man as dangerous. So I may intervene if a woman gets hits but not if a man does, unless he seems to be in danger. A woman getting hit is more upsetting to me by default, but my reaction may depend on if I know the people. It's generally upsetting to see a good person, regardless of gender, get hurt. I may be understanding of a woman hitting a man if I knew the situation but not vice versa

No one should lay their hands on anyone. If I see someone beating on another, despite their gender, I'm intervening. If I can't stop the situation or I'd be at risk also, you can bet your ass I'm calling the cops. Call me a snitch, idc at all.

I think both are equally terrible, but I was brought up believing and being taught that men should never hit women, so my initial reaction was that a man hitting a woman is worse

Violence is never justified, and you can never rate levels of 'wrong'. Though I am very good at being violent due to the upbringing I had, I abhor it.

Onto your poser, a man hitting a woman is the worst type of wrong. One that never has any justification on any level. First and foremost. Why would any man choose to hit a woman?

After he makes the choice to use violence against her, it never ends well for many reasons. Even in the family dynamic where kids see everything and are moulded by it

I would be upset to see man hitting a woman... There is only one thought that comes to mind... Man if not able to use his anger to achieve what he wants to achieve by trying hard instead using on where he knows she won't counter attack...

I personally would be upset by either because violence is never okay unless it’s in bed (well, sort of).

People would argue that “men are physically stronger than women so they can take a punch blah blah blah” which is true scientifically but it doesn’t make it right.

I don’t agree on any violence as a mean to solve anything unless it’s self defense. Male or female, if I can’t reason with you to stop then I attack back with pure intentions to get you to stop.

My knee jerk reaction (Assuming i don't have constant) would be; Man hitting woman? Asshole and anger issues. Woman hitting man? He probably deserved it.

I've just grown up where the above is the general mentality, and its influenced me. Honestly, don't think there's ever a good reason to hit someone.

I'd be more upset to see a man hit a woman because he has more potential of doing damage because they're more likely to be stronger. Statically women are more likely to sustain serious injuries than men in cases of domestic abuse.

I would feel more upset seeing a woman getting hit than a guy.  A hit will affect the woman more emotionally and physically than it would affect the guy. (Generally speaking ).
