  • Why make jokes on others with jokes you would not make about yourself. People do not need to be insulted at all for what they are in no way. But making jokes about jesus means you say people are like a crazy dumb jesus what people are not. perhaps jesus but I can not decide that but that does not mean people are.

  • See... funny is subjective. Overall, I'd say no... but if it's offensive, then it might not be funny to me... so... maybe a little, at times... depends on the funny. Like for me, I take care of kids, so I'm not a fan of child molestation or child pornography jokes. I know a LOT of women who have been raped... I don't find rape jokes funny. If course, that's not always a prerequisite for not liking certain things, or not finding them funny... Making fun of Hitler, peachy. Making fun of the Holocaust? No way.

But really, I usually just roll my eyes, try to ignore it, and move on. I'll remove myself if it's getting ridiculous or it's gonna cause some huge fight. That's usually more that I'm bored, though, more than offended, and I'm no longer interested in the subject and have no interest in getting involved.

Like the whole bit from Jim Gaffigan about being bored in a Catholic Mass is funny. His bit on Christmas is funny. His bit about trying to get Jesus a birthday present is funny... "Socks with sandals (What am I, German?)" Is not so much making fun of Christ... I don't think that's all that bad.

But putting Jesus in a graphic sex scene with Buddha or the devil, I don't find that kind of thing funny, personally.

    • Of course child molestation is something to never joke about or actual rape is pretty messed up but when it comes to adult rape jokes, I guess it just really depends on how the joke is executed.

  • I dont believe in God but I find it very disrespectful when people laugh at others believes. Being atheist or belonging to another religion does not give me the right to laugh at others.

  • I don't understand how Jesus can hurt children's heart this way. Really. It is not funny. But yeah. It did happen. Children at least know you can not trust anybody and that blue is not the color of being trusted. Colors mean nothing from now on anymore. Jesus is dancing while others go to hell and never have a swim in the sea and see no vacation and nothing. They live once for completely nothing. This world is just for the rich. That is clear and the church lied to us. We trust never ever anybody again no more. Never. That is for sure. We not even had a walk through the trees. They take revenge over and over again on the same people who are innocent. Well since when can that make happy while you want justice and take it away from others and say they hallucinate. Well I am going to hallucinate. Because there is nothing else to do on this planet. I imagine you are all gone.

  • Don't worry all. Laugh in this short period as much as you can because the next time you will wish to never do this but it will be too late.

  • You know the intent of your heart behind the nature of each joke. You know whether it's actual harmless fun, or malicious. And your own conscience will indict you accordingly.

I don't believe in Buddha. But I don't go around thinking of ways to offend Buddhists by making pornographic mockeries of him. I don't believe in Confucius. I don't devote time in my day to thinking of all the different ways I can trash him.

I usually leave Muslims alone too... unless one does something really stupid and instigates hostilities. I may have a low view of Muhammad; but I don't waste time making stupid memes of him. Not because I fear a fatwah, but because it's a waste of brain cells.

The images above betray the disingenuous nature of the wording to the question. Something you don't take that seriously, you also don't devote that much time to desecrating thoughts and images of. That indicates that the real intent is seething hatred. And then you need to ask yourself: what is it that you actually hate, and how do you convince yourself that hate is justified?

Expect your Old Adam's mouth to drip venom as he lashes out from inside you, trying to claw to the surface and seek vengeance on any who make a similar call to self-examination. He's not rational, but always brewing there beneath.

    • I don't hate Jesus, God, Christianity, or anyone. In fact, I have several family members who are Catholic. I'm just a guy who just happens to be politically incorrect and has no limits on his jokes, whether on racism, sexism, sexual orientation, and religion (and regardless of what any of them are). I think people need to lighten up and stop taking everything so serious and personal.

  • Looks like Jesus likes to play jokes on his worshippers too.

    • sorry but believing in statues is dumb. break a statue and see if something bad happens to you.
      Believing a stone is absurd

    • Hmm yes... they are not real worshipers

    • That's what every Christian says about every other Christian.

  • It is disrespectful, I know some people don't believe and that is not the issue. I would take offense if something I love was mocked or made fun of. Making fun of God is worse and again really disrespectful to the big community that believes he exists. Any person who respects others would not do this.

    • Yeah people say you have to respect this and that but when it comes to religion they say other things. Hypocrites
