As someone who has Southern Mexican parents, I believe so. Me and my family can't state and hate most Northern Mexicans because of how snobby and pretentious a lot of them are. They talk shit about Southern Mexicans on how we are more "Indian" and lesser class than them, how "all" illegal Mexican immigrants in the US are from Southern Mexico and think they're the most superior Mexicans because of how more European they are, yet ironically, Northern Mexico has as much shitty problems as Southern Mexico does (only different) so either way, a sane Native-European would probably not want to migrate there anyway, lol. Northern Mexico has to deal with Narco/Drug Cartel violence more than Southern Mexicans do.

I'm afraid not, it's not that easy and if anything would only escalate tensions between each group you only have to look at Germany and Korea as you suggested to see what kind of strife dividing a nation can cause.

On that note, though no it's not the same as Germany or Korea both countries were forcefully divided by outside powers it wasn't their choice and both now regret it.

Countries are a bit like family, we might hate each other but that doesn't mean we will really split up or that even when we do it won't be tragic and worse for everyone.

Which brings me to why splitting up Mexico would not only put more differences between south and north by dividing them in another way it would weaken the country overall. You only see how you are competing and arguing with each other but not how going your own ways would put you at a disadvantage versus other countries, weakening trade and Mexico's ability to defend itself.

Would America be in the position on the world stage it's in today if it had remained divided between north and south?

You see the differences between you strongly but the rest of the world is mostly just confused as to which is even which and why you are so mad.

In the world's eye's you are the same and that is the biggest reason Mexico should overcome it's differences and band together in order to have a better future.

I don't know enough about it to have an opinion, nor should my opinion really count (not being a Mexican).

I think separation is only really the best option if the two parts are really pretty fundamentally different, and reconciliation is unlikely.
