In my own opinion dear it depends on the way they are being raised.
It all starts at home, and how the parents are behaving.
The way parents teach their children also has an effect.
If both partners behave in a decent way, the children will most probably do the same, and follow their behavior.
Thank you for the MHO dear :-D
generally they are because they haven't been through situations that their elders have been through.
No, this is just one of the many ways the old vs young play each other out

Actually, with every generation, that has been the case as young people are generally selfish as hell, but become less so with age. Researchers led by psychology professor Ulrich Mayr, examined 80 male and female subjects between the ages of 18 and 67 years old. Using a functional MRI (fMRI), Mayr and his team examined the brain waves of 80 test subjects as they made decisions about charitable financial giving. Using the data of their study, they came to the conclusion that altruism develops with age.
I don't know about selfish but they are definitely more goal oriented and dream bigger.
Young people are always a bit more selfish because life hasn’t battered them about and made them glad for what they have
Unless their (grand) parents neither matured nor mellowed at all.
Most of us can't look outside ourselves until later in life.
Yes they are there parents and grandparents worked harder than we work today but we are more generous and accepting
At the end, we're all selfish, so... let them be 🤷🏻
Today’s young people are selfish, entitled, fat, lazy and miserable.
They are until they get older and learn better hopefully.
depends on 1s personality
