Question has been asked before but not for a while but again it DOES depend on the individual but if you had to pick on who you think is in general smarter judging from your experiences or what you know, who would you say is on average more intelligent?

Who do you think in general is more intelligent, Men or Women?
This is oft-used IQ chart showing the difference between men and women when it comes to IQ distribution among men and women. Note: This is for IQ - whether IQ is a good assessment of "intelligence" is a discussion for another day.
As you can see, both men and women have normal distribution in terms of IQ distribution, but men's distribution is flatter than women's. What this means is that there is no difference in IQ between men and women for a vast majority of the population, but men have greater variance (see, tail ends of both sides of the distribution compared to women's). Therefore, the person with the lowest recorded IQ is highly likely to be a man, while the one with the highest recorded IQ is also highly likely to be a man.
From the studies I've seen, men are more likely than wonen to be both idiots and geniuses. So who is the more intelligent? More men are geniuses than women, so by my reading of the original question men are more intelligent.

Then I would have to disagree with you, because from all I read on the research, it does point out that there's no different for the vast majority of men and women, and I read the "in general" in the Asker's question to mean "the vast majority of men and women". Also, I feel that the idiot-kings and geniuses are outliers, and balance each other out - at least according to the research.
However, fair dinkum, we're all entitled to our opinions, and I could be the wrong one here. Considering how I'm not a scientist and researcher on this topic, and assuming you're not as well, then we'll just leave it at that and call it a day.
Men are expected to be strong, women are expected to be pretty, both can be intelligent or unintelligent on top of that, but that said men tend to be natural leaders, and leadership tend to require intelligence, plus I believe that it's be easier for a man to achieve the stoic state, while women tend too emotional, something that can be useful mainly for working with children.
There are no overall differences in intelligence between the sexes. There's more variety of intelligence among men than among women (i. e. there are more male geniuses but also more male imbeciles), but neither are overall more intelligent than the other.

Neither. Intelligence is something that is gained not something that you are given at birth. Asking questions like this doesn't help the situation between men and women these days.
The bell-curve on IQ tends to show a trend of more variation at the tail ends for males and less for women. This means that men are more likely to have both geniuses and those with mental retardation.
Um... women have great ideas men have the skills to execute. Female engineers and such exist, but for the bulk of it is is a guy thing with respect to technological creation. Who leads in interpersonal matters. Women take and bake the cake on that one
nope are brains are better in different ways, women are smarter at dealing with delicate social situations while men are better at more logic oriented things but it still depends on the individual, i hate how this question only has 2 black and white options to choose from
Men tend to be the best and worst in intelligence but I personally feel like intelligence is beyond what we take into account and no gender is more intelligent than the other.
they're both not above the other in terms of academic intelligence it's just that girls tend to be better able to recall the shit they learned and be more quite. on the other hand both genders can say and do some stupid shit from time to time.
The woman's IQ is higher than the average man's. There are more male geniuses, and more men with intellectual disabilities. Some of the highest recorded IQs also belonged to women such as Marilyn vos Savant with an IQ of 228.
There are other types of intelligence. I am more excited when I meet people with high emotional intelligence.
I’ve seen the lecture about this, women are more likely to be moderately intelligent while men are either likely to be very dumb or “freakishly intelligent” as they described it.
Men it’s a fact but by no ways am I saying women can’t be smart I’m just saying men are eather really smart or stupid and women hover around average more
Gender has no affect on intelligence. I would say men often achieve higher levels of intelligence, but only because women feel like they can't make it as far. But honestly the only thing that matters is your level of dedication
not true, of the top 200 most intelligent engineers of the country only ~3% are female and they don't rank very high on the list. impressive none the less, but a clear example of how men-physical / women-mental is not the case. i'm not saying women are dumb, but statistics shows women are not better than men when it comes to the intelligence game
No that's not what I meant. I meant that the average man through history was doing the phisical job more than women (blacksmith, knight, butcher ect) women were doing the more easy but the jobs that need more mental intelligence and no phisical strength like (painter, making clothes, farmer ect)
