Thoughts on the statement 'men are trash'?

'Men are trash'. An incredibly commonly used term especially by the modern women, mainly said as a response to events of men committing rape, infidelity, pedophilia, or something less of an offense like sharing unpopular opinions especially if they can get interpreted as sexist, or even for no good reason at times.

Not gonna lie, while I definitely know there are many good men out there and all men are definitely not trash at all, I personally get why it is a thing.

So guys think:
1) that I believe most men are trash due to my past experiences with men in relationships. The fact is, I don't even have a lot of history with guys to begin with, and the ones that exist are very insignificant to what I think of men in general.
2) That I think women are flawless beings who can do no harm. I don't believe that either, instead I bring up quite a lot of times on how women also propagate misogyny and commit shit like honor killings and sex trafficking.

I worked at a health club years ago and found both men and ladies capable of being pure trash. There was one guy who after playing tennis would sit at the bar and screw around with other women while his wife was at home. One time his wife showed up because it was his birthday and foolishly bought him a stripper. When the stripper came in was when he kicked her out of the club because he wanted to have a little fun and did not want his wife watching. His wife did not fully leave but ended up seeing him enjoying licking whipped cream off the ladies breast and she left crying. He later called her from the health club asking how much she paid and why she did not pay for her to take it all off as the stripper only took off her top and not her bottom. I hope she divorced his sorry ass but I have seen ladies cheat on their husbands at home.

What I found funny is how women often defend the woman cheating claiming her husband must be lousy as an excuse for why she cheated but if the man cheats then it is "OMG! What an asshole!"
I've seen a guy punch his wife in the stomach but I have said a lady shove the sharp end of a pencil up her husbands nose putting him in such horrific agony as he gushed blood for telling her to be quiet in front of his friends.
I have seen ladies take advantage of their husbands money as one guy ended up putting his wife through college in her later years. She found a decent job and divorced his ass and sought to soak him for as much as she could get when he was the nicest freaking guy you would have ever met.
Guys may be doing the raping but there are girls who seek revenge by saying the guy raped her as her sick way to just to punish his ass for breaking up with her or cheating with another woman that makes her worse than amphibian shit.
Everyone here can give an example of a shitty man and how he treats women but they also can give examples of how shitty a woman can be to a man as well. If men ever started a Me Also movement then there are several ladies I could have in prison too for inappropriate sexual misconduct to me.
I find it odd too that If a guy grabs a females cunt without her consent it is the end of the world but if a guy complains a female grabbed his cock and was bothered she did that to him then many women would give two shits about it. Both sexes can be purely evil. If we focus on the man saying he cheats and does awful things will only confirm to other females when they hear domestic disputes or a man cheating on his wife that men are trash and what they heard before about them must be true. It becomes easy to not see the other side of it. It's like this racist guy I worked with that said, "Ever notice that Mexicans out here will carpool 5 to 6 guys and they always have a taillight out?" The weird thing was that I never noticed the white/black guys piled in a car with a taillight out but only Mexicans after hearing that BS. This is how hate is built. When Trump said Mexicans are rapists and murderers then what do you think went through certain people's heads when they hear of illegal immigrants who raped or killed a US citizen? They seem to forget of all the wonderful Mexicans we have that never do such things and also seem to forget how all other races commit such crimes.
I rather say, "That man did something awful" and "That lady did something awful" than saying "Men as a whole are trash" and "Females as whole are trash." Stereotyping just plain sucks. That's my take on this.

Well its a thing because women are pampered. See women are just as likely to commit rape as men, the difference is no one cares when it happens to a man or worse its turned into a joke (or he was "gay for not wanting it"). Women are as likely to be pedohiles as men are (if not more so. Look up "teacher has sex with student" and you will see almost all cases are female teachers with male students, they have also found that sexual abuse of minors in custody (juvenile detention centers) was almost entirely done by women (over 90% of rapes where commited by women against the boys in custody (the women would frequently claim that if they didn't cooperate they would accuse the boy of raping them which as we all know is far more likely to be believed). Women are also not acknowledged for being the aggressor in domestic violence despite statistical data showing that they are actually MORE likely to commit domestic abuse then men are (same goes with child abuse). They then turn around and demand that men take responsibility for everything and women for nothing, they demand men be traditional then claim sexism when a man wants a woman to be even moderately traditional i. e. have some form of reciprocation in the relationship. So that's why you get its a thing, because women are given such a free pass for every horrific thing they do (statistically they even get a third less of a sentence then men for commiting the same crime and that's if they are sentenced at all which most are not (one woman stabbed her boyfriend in the leg and threw a laptop at his head while high, she wasn't charged with a crime. Another bashed a mans face in with a beer mug because he hit on her, he had to get fifteen stitches in his face, she wasn't charged. Three women accused a taxi driver of rape, he had a camera showing it never happened, they where not charged with anything. Etc. etc. etc.) If anything I would say that modern women are trash and provably so, not all of course but the majority and the worse part is they are so pampered and protected by society that none of them will own up to their rampant privilege and poor conduct.

It’s offensive. I don’t get why it’s a thing, because even if you could find a trash worthy guy somewhere on the most wanted list, it’s an uncompromising general statement. I have a father, a plethora of uncles, male cousins, grandfathers, etc... they are all good men. Horribly flawed, just like the next person, sure, but ultimately really good guys. I love them. I've personally experienced and witnessed both good men and 'trash' men... Unfortunately I had to come to the conclusion that there are more trash men than good men out there.

And in case you're wondering, no it's not my past relationships and my exes or anything like that, I have way too few exes to call all men trash because of one or two bad experiences with guys doesn't represent all. It's identifying wrong behavior among men in my own family, school/class/peers, social media, my sister's male dominant workplace, and more. I think people lost their standard on how a good man should be, which is why most believe that most men aren't trash.

It's a terribly harsh, all-encompassing statement, and I don't think it should ever be said. Only rapists, murderers, violent individual criminals deserve this title, and to be thrown away like the garbage they are. All others, it is not fair to lump them in with this small minority. Even excluding abortions, the global rate of infant (children under the age of 4) homicide stands at over 7 per 100,000, and has been on the rise since the early 1990s. In comparison, the global homicide rate (which explicitly excludes infanticide for some reason- wonder why?) stands at 6.2 per 100,000, and has been in decline for several decades. As it stands, right now, you're more likely to be murdered in your first 4 years of life, by your parent (most commonly, your own mother) than by literally everyone else you'll ever encounter in the rest of your life combined. Yet infanticide is trivialized and excused by society to such an extent, swept under the rug, in spite of the fact that infants are the most vulnerable, dependent, and need to be protected the most.

Across most of the world, especially in the Anglosphere, infanticide has a maximum sentence of only five years, and most often, those who commit infant homicide are exempted from custodial sentences entirely. Why is this the case? Could it be because an estimated 80% of those who commit infanticide are women, and because if infant homicides were considered to constitute actual acts of homicide as well (seeing as how they are and all), the statistics would show that women, not men, are in fact the primary perpetrators of homicide? And because the majority of infant homicide victims, contrary to the media's focus solely on the selective infanticide of girls in some cultures, are actually boys (roughly 60-40)?

I totally get why it's a thing. Because when you have the societal attitude that 'men are trash', it's far, FAR easier to justify slaughtering them in their droves, like pests to be exterminated, or merely like inconveniences to be dispensed with, simply for the crime of BEING BORN WITH A PENIS. A lot of women kill their babies for facing factors that could have easily been prevented though. I do get these news of women killing their newborn, but they were because:
1) Rape child
2) Rape child part 2 but by war. For example, after the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh, millions of women were raped during the war and many of them bored children of the rival Pakistani Military. These women were heavily persecuted by their families and community even when the first president of Bangladesh tried to promote honoring the female survivors of this torture. These women killed themselves or killed their babies after birth. None of them would have to do that is they weren't persecuted in the first place
3) Postpartum depression. Needs more awareness.
And so on. While not all child murders by mothers are caused because the mother has been the victim of something, many child murders happen for this reason... And it is rooted down to lack of regard for women.

From the clinical perspective, understanding is good, and researchers could have a field day putting out a new thesis of "what drives women to kill their young". If new preventive measures emerge from that, then I'm all for it.

From the socialisation perspective, understanding can easily be taken as an excuse to downplay the crimes. It becomes a false narrative of "she was driven to it BECAUSE society misunderstood her." To put in context, imagine a male paedophile saying in court "I only raped children coz society didn't understand me". Wouldn't fly with any jury, yet women who kill their own kids (often in unbelievably brutal/ sadistic ways) are portrayed as victims of a patriarchal society that dismisses them and thus "drove them to it".

I can understand the desire to attribute accurate causes to past events, so as to prevent them happening again. But once someone rapes or murders a child, in my opinion they lose any claim to being a victim

They aren't attracted to babies they just look for the most vulnerable target and they know it's easier to get away with sexually abusing a child. When I was sexually abused by my cousin as a toddler I was too young to even understand what was going on, and I never told anyone. Most people who harass children know them, they are most possibly the child's relative or neighbor. Parents are also less likely to take a child's words seriously and if the complaints involve a family member, parents even push the kid to talk to them more so that the kids doesn't hate them anymore. The key to prevent this is to watch out for any adult that your child spends time with, including your own close family members and friends.

Sayings like those were all too common when my parents were going through their divorce. My mother always said stuff like that in the heat of the moment. In my opinion, it's just taking the easy way out. A vague generalization that further solidifies a victim mentality. If she was hurt by a woman, she'd likely say something similar about women.

But I do understand why people say it. They say it because "people" are trash! Either that or like you said, "sharing unpopular opinions." Both genders have their strong suits and weak points. So when someone insults a specific gender, they could be focusing on that reoccurring weak point.

If I'm in a scenario where I see negative reoccurrences in any gender, I always try not to generalize. It's as easy as just adding "some" or "so many" before you state the gender. It's even better if statistics are shown that way people don't think it's an emotional lash out with no logic to back it up. This seems like a symptom of a larger problem where male-female relations are so messed-up here in the States, that (if ever I do) I'll probably only seek a mate back in Asia, instead.

It would be great relations could be fixed, but that does not seem likely today. Even if we tried to press 'rewind' to undo the damage, there are undeniable problems with the traditional male-female relational attitudes, behaviors, and expectations, hence the movements against them. If elements of erring components could be replaced with counterpart elements from other cultures, we might be able to fix this, but that does not seem likely, either.

Sometimes, I wish for a more rational, fact-based system taking from China's marriage-resumés, Japan's marriage-interviews, some sort of inter-family negotiations, Indian arrangement of marriages, and Jewish marriage-contracts. Whenever a woman is talking about dating and she says "All men are trash," that screams so many red flags about her. First off, that shows that she can't more than likely keep a man around. I remember that when I was around your age too. To add some experiance, i attracted girls by just being a nice and helpful. Even though, this was never intentional, I was just known as Mr. Nice Guy. Chicks digged that.

At the time it was a mask for a rather broken person, that which I was. But I genuinely did like to help people. Girls especially, I was... overprotective after the shit life I had been through at that point.

However, at the time, changing an alternator and belts in the school parking lot was remembered far more then the Charger someone's daddy bought him. Especially when all I charged for was to cover the alternator, which I got at a major discount because I knew people at NAPA. *shrug*

Different strokes for different folks. But that was my culture too, in a way, growing up. However, even though I attracted some girls with my helpfulness, I never did it with the intention of getting laid.

I was very vanilla in that way, I liked cuddling back then. So if I could just hold a girl it was a win.
