I call it the wuhan virus, since originally came from the wuhan market area.
But why it was okay to call the other disease Spanish flu?

How is it racist when it's where it came from?
Context is everything.. if a virus was named by a group of scientists sitting in a lab is different than if a virus was named to steer up hate and political agenda. And not everything is about partisan for God sake!

If you saying “Chinese” in a scientific sounding way then I think there’s no problem but most people use Chinese just to incite hatred against Chinese people. Can you give me an example where “Chinese virus” is scientific sounding and not used to incriminate Chinese people?

Just the other day I was walking to a grocery store and a homeless man called me a Chink and told me to fuck off. I've been living in the US my entire life and yet I am targeted because of my ethnicity. Hate crimes against Asians are on the rise worldwide this is very much a concern to me.
Also I'm trying to say that there is a distinction between something coming from a country and something coming from a culture. Creating coronaviruses is not something intrinsic to Chinese culture or any culture... Also the source of this pandemic is more likely from Pangolins not bats directly. Bats are more commonly eaten in Indonesia. There is no official consensus yet on what animal exactly brought the coronavirus...

Spanish flu didn't originate in Spain. It got it's name as it affected Spain quite badly and unlike large parts of Europe who were aurpressing news during th war, it's news outlets were telling the world about their epidemic. That was a strain of influenza, would have had a scientific name. Its not denigrating to all Spanish people just because it's names after their country.
Not all diseases are named after where they started. SmallPox started in Egypt but we don’t call it Egyptian virus. If we did now Egyptian people might call it offensive just saying..
Many diseases including the Hong Kong Flu are named after their origins. The original name given by CHINESE doctors was the Wuhan Flu. I get called racial slurs too and plenty of other black people around the world, and even in China right now (I’m black btw); no one deserves it. That name is just not racist to me.
