I mean, sure, I guess.
But I think anyone who would suggest this, probably has no brothers, doesn't know they're father (or if they do they've always had they're own restroom at home), and they've clearly never mistakenly walked into a men's public restroom.
If they had, they would know that guys are gross. Like really gross in their own restroom at home (especially, if their mother cleans it for them), and then you give them a place where there's no accountability for the condition of a room when they leave.
You have no idea, it's unacceptable in almost every example.
Why would anyone want to sit in a strangers pee? Because that's what you're asking for if you want same sex bathrooms.
Not to mention, is the one public place where is OK to take your dick out? Trusty me you don't want to put women in there, especially since they're going to be expossing their vaginas while they're in there.
It's just to much, and guys aren't good with self control, and even worse if their dick is in their hand.
In my experience (I've come across them in Denmark), they make pretty much everybody feel uncomfortable. I'm not in favour of them.
I’ve seen them a lot in France too
There is probably more of that where I am, in California, than anywhere else, save maybe New York.
Mostly, it is just a single stall bathroom that either gender can use but you just lock it behind you and no one else can come in until you go out.
Target Stores started letting men go into the women's room, but swiftly got complaints when old men would show up standing in front of horrified mothers who had their little girls in tow.
There is a live theater in Berkeley that has gender neutral restrooms but took out the urinals in the men's so everyone has to go into a private stall, so at least there is that level of privacy in them and since it is a theater with live performances that are anywhere from PG-13 to X rated, it is not a problem with the type of audience they attract. It is still an experience to be in a large public restroom washing your hands next to a man in the bathroom, with others waiting their turn behind you.
Anyway, hope that helps Ms Cindy :)
Can you add a fourth option of "this shouldn't be an issue to anyone and it is just a petty topic that is pushed to the forefront to avoid people discussing actually important topics in the public discourse in America like poverty, homelessness, wars, proper healthcare system, etc."? I think that option would be a good polling option and I would choose that one because I have seen them here in my home country and no one cares that they exist, they are toilets for christ's sake!
No offense to the asker here, I totally get that you hear these topics come up all the time and I heard them when I lived in the USA, Australia and Britain and it is such an over exaggerated topic in those countries

I'm neutral... I'm sure that most are one per person. But women and men using the bathroom at the same time.. That's soically very interesting! Only with stalls of course but it's kind of a fun concept. As long as men behave but something tells me that sounds more whimsical then true. Just one bathroom conversation with a girl or sharing a stall next to a girl would be fun. Of course I believe that to not reality but just to have an extra level of feeling included... In thoughts it feels nice but in practice and safety for women it's just not possible
In the last 15 years, I have seen more women coming into a men's restroom alone, with nothing sexual happening to the woman, or her being harassed or embarrassed.
Now, with signs, like above, starting to appear because of "Social Compliance" being mandated, Uni-sex restrooms are not only going to be avoidable... there going to be shoved down everyone's throats
i want to say that i'd be okay with it but honestly, i'd feel uncomfortable with it. we had a female, male and unisex toilet at my high school and it wasn't that bad since it was all young students but it was awkward to change pads in there while guys were using it.
I don't know if it's because society has always taught us about the separate restrooms but i would rather keep them separate. i know that there's the whole thing with other genders which aren't female and male and father's needing to change their kid's diaper but in actual fact, i still wouldn't want to use a unisex one over females
There may be safety concerns in unisex toilets...
Plus, I don't feel it would be comfortable...
Not all men are nice and respectful towards women...
I saw few of the comments from boys, they're telling it to be good, one guy told such public place to be a better place for sex! Disgusting...
A man was arguing with a woman how she didn't like unisex toilets... It's her preference...
So even these comments again suggest separate toilets for men and women are better...
It's my view...
They're fine as long as only one person will be in it at a time. (Or only one adult, with children) But I wouldn't be okay with a unisex bathroom that both genders would be going in and out of at the same time, such as the typical type of public bathroom with stalls. Those should be for one adult gender only.
Typically they are ok, cleaner, as they don't get as much use. They can lead to perverts Looking for trouble, so I wouldn't want kids around, but if I need to pee and it is the only option then as long as the stall has a door and a lock on it, unless you are Superman and can see through walls, I have no major concern.
Additionally, it isn't as if unisex toilets will have urinals on the wall, so guys can't expose themselves to any woman that enters to do her business.
The whole freak-out about bathrooms was and will always be ridiculous. If anything, people spend on average 10 minutes there if even. Logically, it's much more cost efficient than separate areas and I feel the best solutions to keep people shut up about feelings oof insecurity is to only put stalls in it while putting natural, public urinals around where possible. as this can help prevent public urination and larger bathroom crowds. I can swear I've also heard of possibilities to convert waste into energy so combining all this together would be an amazing cost saving solution.
In the end, a toilet is a toilet.
What's special about ladies rooms? Probably that there's a closed bin to throw away personal sanitary garbage.
Apart from that it's identical to a make room.
And when people visit your house, they just use the room... nobody speaks about men or girls's rooms.
In many buildings it would save a lot of space as well.
I lived in a coed dorm for two years in college and there was a large coed bathroom on each hall. There were around ten showers and ten toilets and sinks in the bathroom. Every morning it would be really crowded with males and females getting ready for class. Some were naked, some girls wearing bras and panties (or just panties). I showered every morning with a lot of other people also showering and it wasn't a big deal. After living like that for two years I learned that coed restrooms are ok.
Like the ones that are just for one user at a time? No different than what my experience has been in my own private house since I was old enough to use a toilet. I don’t see the issue here.
But I’ve also used men’s washrooms when the lineup to the women’s was far too long for me to wait in. Never had a problem and if there were guys in it, they didn’t care.
I try to spend as little time in a public restroom as possible. Get in, poop, get out.
I do like the separation of men & women. It is really awkward when I have to pee at the bar, and there are girls doing their thing in the toilet stalls in the men's room. (Unless its an emergency, like they're throwing up, I can have sympathy for that)
Bad. You don't want people to think it's ok. But if they were to and no one notices that you are a female/male might be ok. But if someone were to get caught and cause a huge problem? That's when you should probably step in and it's not ok. Because you don't want to have to waste your time and resources on them. And it's just better and easier this way.
guys toilets are disgusting awful hellpits. no one should ever have to use one. I feel completely uncomfortable in guys restrooms... so, i dunno whatever. i usually use the private (family) restrooms if possible. sometimes i go in the girls restroom if it seems like no one is there (or no one cares, like if it's just my friends and no one else is around)
I'll never support them. I've seen into the hearts of too many men to know that sending your 12 year old daughter into a bathroom with a bunch of men is a good idea. I don't believe in fairy tales nor do I believe as a species or a society that we have evolved to a point where that is a good idea. Stupid in my opinion.
I believe they should make a unisex bathroom in every school or big stores and shopping places but more like a single stall where you lock the door, but not a big unisex bathroom because I believe that would lead to Perverts and sexual assault. It would be cool to have one like the ones at the mall for moms and their kids to go to because non-binary and trans people would feel better and shy pee-ers but not an actual full bathroom
In my personal experience they are fine.
I've been in a small art school and there were floor 0 and floor - 1. The women's toilet is up and the men's down. They both became unisex naturally because it was too uncomfortable to walk to the other point of the school. Haven't had any problem or felt uncomfortable. I don't know.
Also I'm fine when at some small pubs and bars there's only one bathroom and it's for everyone. Never had problem there either.
If you want to have a quickie with a girl, you don't have to sneak in. You both just go in and lock yourselves and do your business. After you are done one person checks to make sure no one is about and you both come out and wash your hands without worrying about any one coming in because it's unisex.
if your talking single stall 1 toilet, 1 sink, etc. then not much of an issue really. other then just making sure people don't mess up the place.
however once you do multiple stalls. that gets to be a bit more tricky. depending on where you live.
I’ve never seen one before that wasn’t just a single lockable room (one toilet). I didn’t even know the existed but they seem a bit odd and dangerous perhaps. Where is it in the world that they have these?
Everywhere should just use individual washrooms and all be labelled for everyone. Not these group washrooms that separate men and women. Small full washrooms that only one person can use, and is available for everyone.
