I can understand why some embrace that, and think they are doing GREAT for the planet, but some like what they like, and some of us get tired of sooooooo many vegans, (not you, necessarily) being JUDGMENTAL, and CONDEMNING and telling us what we "SHOULD DO"!
Agriculture (as a whole) is literally the smallest contributing sector to climate change. You will save the earth from climate change 4.5 times "more" by not driving a car than you would by going vegan.
And since I don't drive a car, I'm already doing more for the environment than 4.5 vegans who do! Checkmate, vegans.

Bullshit, look at India where most of this belief was founded. It's not working for them and isn't going to be world changing as these fools suggest. Animal products vastly improve health and offer complete proteins. I practily live off eggs, dairy, and fish. I loved my lentils, but need my meats. Also, we've eliminated more bovids than there are currently farmed. There were more buffalo in the past in the US than Cows currently. We the killing off elephants and rhinos, they produce huge amounts and we lost some other important producers. If all these animals were world ending, why didn't the world end faster when there were more of them? We could make an effort to collect this methane as it has commercial value, but it is clear it isn't as detrimental as people are paid to report.
Yes, we all should in theory but is it really possible? I tried being a vegetarian for 6 months then i became a pescatarian for a year and a half. Now im a regular meat eater. Sure, being vegan and even vegetarian does wonders to animal cruelty and our habitat but its not really healthy for everyone's bodies. You have to put so much effort in your diet wherever you go and its not sustainable for majority of people
I disagree. I fully support anyone who is vegan but we are animals too and that is how the circle of life works. Even if we all go vegan, animals aren’t vegan. They kill other animals for food as well. I think the reason us humans have this idea is because of the way we get out food but in reality, without the knowledge we have now, we would still be going in the forest looking for an animal to eat for dinner.
I agree. There is no doubt that being vegan is healthier and that it would be good for the environment. However, I don't believe that veganism/vegetarianism would end hunger. There's already enough food for everyone in this planet, the problem is that food doesn't get to all people. Plus, you have to pay to have food and millions of people don't have money to buy food everyday or every week/month.
If that was possible given free choice and all, yes.
In the mean time. Lets dial down the preaching about becoming 100% black and white vegan and tell people to cut down instead. 1 steak a week would do a lot of good compared to 7. Be nice about it, even if you by heart is burning passionately to change the world. It doesn't work if you can't sell the idea.
I do agree that the prospect of suddenly becoming vegan can be daunting and it may be more effective to convince people to cut down on their consumption. But you as a person will seem to still be condoning animal cruelty in a way and I think many vegan struggle with that.
I understand that if the moral aspect is what makes you vegan then it becomes directly offensive to eat meat or consume products that feed that industry. But the concept of accepting 'the lesser evil' is somerhing I think is crucial when you're aiming for cultural change. It doesn't happen instantly unless under threat to ones life.
Idealism for a good cause is great but you need tolerance and patience. Human habits and our reluctance toward change is deeply ingrained into our nature. We can't be rushed or convinced by being shamed, that only closes the door.
And some people admittingly will not bend or change unless people around them (their tribe so to say) change first. And the likelyhood of flipping people over 100% is not all that high but small changes does influence people more because it reduces peoples resistance towards ideas in that alignment. In the long run reducing cunsumption of meat will make the industry change toward more plantbased because thats where the profits are, there's a market for it. You can't erradicate meat cunsumption over night and if you don't change tactic on that front chances are plantbased culture will be nothing more than a pop-trend.
I myself is less affected by the morals of animal-cruelty (although I am affected by it, just less). My incentives are more about saving the environment and providing a future for the human race and all other life on this planet. As a woke spiecies that's our responsability. And going plantbased goes hand-in-hand with that goal. But I must remain realistic.
Disagree for sure. We'll have to grow only vegetables and grains meaning farmers would be pressured and dairy farmers would lose their job. Domestic animals won't survive in the wild. It'll be too chaotic. Plus the food chain would get messed up. Humans were born omnivore, so they can adapt in any situation. I hate vegans who force others. I mean if you wanna be vegan be one but no one has the right to decide what I eat and i don't.
I don’t think everyone should go vegan, but just eat less meat. And for people out there, especially Americans, don’t throw out food. I mean buy the food you know you would eat and finish your meal.
It's a valid issue, but there could be alternative solutions. In this video, food waste is discussed. It has been suggested that giving food away rather than throwing it out is viable for both world hunger and environmental concerns, to an extent.
Climate change point is more valid I think than some would/might think.
The hungry people problem is more logistics than production of food, (I think, again) we make multiple times the amount we would need to feed humans on a global scale, maybe magnitudes more...
And what do you plan to do with the massive unemployment that would result from all those people who have jobs in the meat and dairy industries, whose lives depend on these industries?
It's not as black and white as vegans would have you believe.
There are some extreme benefits to veggies, very good for hormone balance, less cancer and that. But meat is needed for muscle build, I couldn't live without it, I know there are plant substitutes but nothing beats a good steak after a burning session.
Totally. Raising farm animals for slaughter is worst thing happening. They are not only causing great pain but also cause of global warming and multitude of other problems.
I think we should just like not private us from something as eating too much meat is bad for our environment, eating only not animals things will 100% make an other problem too we should just like eat meat 1 time every 2 weeks or something like that just have an equilibrated and ecological alimentation
Eat how you please I don't care. As strict as my diet is I personally am not. I don't eat pork at all (No I'm not Muslim and it's not for any religious reasons. Its just a personal choice) but some people lost their sh*t with that and started saying I'm vegan just cause of that. Eat what you what. Vegan or not power to ya
Power to animal abuse and widespread animal cruelty, you mean? This is what veganism strives to prevent, hence why it's preached. Would you call me out if I tell people not to be racist or not to murder?
Disagree and Climate change is inevitable, stop seeking to avoid things which are unavoidable. "according to harvard if everyone went vegan there would still be plenty of food available to feed everyone, more than adequately)" Could you kindly send me a link to that as I would enjoy reading what explanation they gave for that.
I like meat and fish, and dont plan on giving it up (dont eat massive when on my own, and making veg soup is cheaper than cooking meat)... however it would be better if people are more veggies and less processed crap...

Not by ban maybe but maybe by choice... just to clarify... maybe...

Only young girls seem to be so naive to believe all this bullshit. It’s not all roses and rainbows.
@D4nielv right because it’s that easy...

It's a matter of changing a cultural norm
Totally.

Followed you , never thought of you like that.
why not?
Bcz you're a weird person.

Yeah i think so. At least we should eat meat rarely.
Hopefully you didn't tell me : I hate it bye 😂😂🙄

So far, non of the arguments are convincing.
No. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/vegan-diet-everyone-us-follow-health-impact-meat-nutrients-deficit-supply-scientists-study-a8064981.html
Thanks for this!
The thing is animal food is unhealthy for humans. Even in small amounts have negative impact to their health.
So there's no need to exploit animals, so it's safe to assume animals should have THE RIGHT not to be under human exploitation in any shape or form.
