+1 yHaha. You ask a question and then explicitly tell people not to give the correct answer. That makes me think you don't really want an answer to your question but are just trying to spread propaganda.
The virus primarily spreads by human to human contact so it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to understand that limiting human to human contact as much as possible would greatly limit the spread.
I think the ironic thing about this sad situation we're in is that if Trump had been a real leader and listened to the experts that best understand viruses and early on came out with a statement about the virus being a threat to our country and that it was patriotic to quarantine and wear masks, the majority of his followers would have done it and the virus would have spread a lot less, many fewer people would have died or gotten seriously ill, and the economy (after a serious but probably short hit which was inevitable in the case of a pandemic), would likely be rebounding better by now. If that had happened, Trump would have gotten credit for being a good leader and doing the right thing and might even have an approval rating above 50% for the first time and would likely be on his way to a relatively easy re-election.
Instead, thinking only about himself as he always does, Trump took the approach of "the virus will be bad for the economy and the economy is the centerpiece of my re-election strategy so I'm going to ignore the advice I get and pretend it's nothing to worry about to try to keep the economy going even if it costs a bunch of people their lives." Since he's not a deep thinker or a long term thinker and doesn't believe in science, he didn't realize that in the long run that ostrich approach of sticking his head in the sand (and telling all of his followers to do the same) and hoping that the virus would just magically disappear would do a lot more damage to his reputation and his re-election chances than doing what was best for the country and its citizens.
I don't know if he realizes that even now, but even if he does, he would never admit to being wrong about anything, so he just keeps doubling down on the ostrich approach and trying to pin the blame for the disaster he's made worse than it needed to be on someone else (the Chinese, the liberals, the media, the deep state, or even the few people in his own administration that have tried to do the right thing).
His strategy now seems to be trying to hide the truth about the pandemic and convince people that the facts about it are lies designed to defeat him to cover his tracks for all the things he's done wrong regarding this serious issue. Now, trailing in the polls (which he might not be if he'd done the right thing from the beginning), he's ramping up the lies and misinformation hoping that his true believers that just blindly believe him without doing any critical thinking or fact checking will carry him to victory in November. Time will tell whether that works. For the good of all of us, including Trump's followers, I certainly hope it doesn't.104 Reply- +1 y
That’s not the right answer. Even if everyone wore masks you would still get the virus. The virus even found its way to the amazon or something. We can’t live this way. Something has to give.

Well, the US has far more cases than any other country, including countries with larger populations. About 25% of all cases in the world have been in the US even though the US only has about 4% of the world population. So it's very clear that the Trump/Republican/anit-masker approach of pretending it's not a problem is failing miserably.
China, where the virus was first reported, did a major lock down and people really did it and they got things under control relatively quickly and seem to be back a lot closer to normal than the US is.
New Zealand was very strict also for a period of time. I think they didn't even let their own citizens back into the country for a while and they got their cases down to near 0. It was possible.
But in the US there's a large number of people, encouraged by Trump and other Republicans, who think it's too much of a sacrifice to go a month or two without parties and other gatherings and occasionally wearing a mask in order to save the country from a pandemic. Quite interestingly I think, those people call themselves patriots and call the people that are willing to make sacrifices for the good of the country snowflakes. - +1 y
Ya I’m... we’re one of the highest I argue because of New York and a few other places... New York let the death toll go insane. Apparently 40% of nys death toll was in homes... put them back in the homes he said... also per million were lower than many other places... also important question... what about the riots and protests? These fuckers arnt wearing masks half the time or you think they can’t be the cause? We got 300 dead in Chicago this month alone... what about deaths being caused by democrats in other ways as they egg these people on... also China got it first so they responded first and they hid information from everyone else... China said it was originally not transferable between people... what happens when they reopen and some idiot brings a new case into New Zealand? Also you think every parties republicans?

If you think for a second that China has fewer cases and that millions didn't die , you are a fool

For comparison, contrast the current pandemic to the Spanish influenza epidemic of 1918-1919. The Spanish virus infected 500 million people worldwide and killed an estimated 20 million to 50 million victims. This out of a world population at that time of just over 1.6 billion.
By any measure, the world has experienced far worse, with far fewer of the economic resources and scientific and technological innovations that it has today. That there is reason to be concerned and prudent is undoubted.
By contrast, shutting the economy down in the ephemeral search for a solution is disproportionate. A sensible and sober people realize that not every problem has a solution. Rather, some are just difficulties to be managed. Indeed, it being arguable that the pursuit of a solution may likely cause as many, if not more, problems than it solves.
Then there is the analogy to the nation at war. It is amusing, to say no more, to imagine FDR after Pearl Harbor declaring the nation at war and then telling everyone to sit in their living rooms. The boys who stormed Normandy or Guadalcanal no doubt would have pined for such a war.
The nation, it would seem, cannot pat itself on the back quite enough. Told to stay home, the media obligingly conducts Skype interviews of people quarantined as if being held hostage. If indeed such a thing can be called a quarantine that allows trips to the grocery store and the pharmacy and the dollar store and the post office with abandon.
The inconveniences are real, but hardly unbearable and might be deemed, in a nation of adults, just doing one's civic duty. It being well to recall, as has been well said, that no one deserves a garland for doing their duty.
The problem is serious but, as history has repeatedly shown, manageable. The reaction to it has careened between hysterical fits, overreaction and an insufferable sense of self-congratulation and self-pity. The policy to manage the issue overreaching and apt to produce unintended outcomes at least a calamitous as the immediate problem.
Time for the country to grow-up, get some perspective and put on its' proverbial "big boy pants." Serious it is, but that does not mean it has also not been over-hyped and overplayed. They are not, much as one might wish they were, mutually incompatible.20 Reply

It's as plain and simple as this. I work in healthcare and what I see is this, a simple instruction : "we are operating a one way system, at the end of your appointment I will escort you out the building through the back, you will need to sanitise your hands and walk out and turn left and left again to get back to the main road"
Im calm and speak a little slower so they don't miss anything (not patronising slow, clear slow as I speak relatively fast)
Some patients are so anxious they don't hear and make mistakes then get jumpy and apologetic.
Others can be rather ignorant and arrogant and refuse to listen because they think it's nonsense to be told what to do.
Then there are the more reasonable people that say, whether I believe there is a virus or not I will do what I can to prevent the spread. These people are calm and appreciate my clear instructions and even thank me for what I'm doing to help keep them safe.
There are other variations to these behaviours but I outlined the main points within them.
Generally speaking before this pandemic we were already facing a pandemic to many people and so few resources.
There are many people that suffer that don't care about spreading the virus, because they feel oppressed/neglected by society.
Others that are making huge strides in life that begrudge those incapable of providing/contributing something to society the way they do. Human beings are the disease because so many of us are so hateful, unkind, competitive and believe in hierarchy.
Trumps speeches already highlight that and right now he's speaking to a society of people that feel afflicted. Due to a hierarchical mindset regardless of their society wealth.75 Reply- +1 y

Yes.
From the history of humankind until today we have overcome many nightmares and been able to live together. This pandemic is total bullshit.
This self isolation is the biggest test, we humans were made to live together and it’s already hard to be single and have a successful career and this pandemic took that away jobs, lives and the simple act of socializing.
If you don’t know, there’s something bigger happening behind this. The number of deaths is probably normal because many people die everyday, those numbers are just not exposed to us, but with the fake pandemic they are adding c-19 to death certificates, people who never had covid.
They want you to believe in this they are poisoning your head with anxiety, fear, death, disaster and solitude by obligation.
Man made shit.
Literally I’ve got a friend who had it, nothing more than regular cold but a bit stronger. Nobody died from that.

+1 ySocial distancing should be social absence. Standing 6, 8, or 10 feet will not stop the spread. If you are standing 10 feet behind some one in line that is infected. They infected that air space. Once you walk through it you are infected mask or not. It is in your hair, clothes and skin. It can live on surfaces any where between a couple of hours to 48 hours. So your mask might help you not get sick but you are spreading it to all the morons that aren't wearing a mask or they have their nose exposed. Wearing a mask but leaving the nose exposed is like using a condom with the tip cut off. Bottom line social distancing is worthless. Masks help more than they hurt. One person can infect a hundred people. Then each one of those hundred people can infect another hundred people. The worst thing is a person that is asymptomatic can catch it and spread it like wildfire because they don't get sick. The strand that came out of China has mutated like 10 times. The vaccine they were working on is for that strand. People need to stop being stupid and wise up so life can get back to some sort of normalcy.
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. How would you feel is someone close to you did get the virus and ended up dying from it? Would it have a negative effect on you and others you are close to in your life? After thinking about those questions ask yourself this, Do you want to chance that happening?
One of the biggest issues is people tend to not think something is serious tell it hits close to home. This way of thinking can create major issues for themselves and others around them. I could sit here and type up a massive list of issues and the consequences of them that are caused by people having a mind set that boils down to its not an issue tell it effects me. The funny thing is that many issues in those peoples life are created by others with the same mindset.
Also leave the political bs out of it and remove politics from the equation so think for yourself. Politics breeds people that won't or can't think for themselves. It is also a breeding ground for group think. There are countless examples through out human history of how destructive people not thinking for themselves can be. There are also countless examples of people in positions of power using group think to blind people to what they are doing. The only sure way to stop both and ensure neither happen is having the majority of people in a given country think for themselves and question everything.00 Reply12.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. That's about as fvcking stupid as saying "If seat belts and driving tests work so well, then why are road deaths and accidents still happening?"
Trump IS the government, and has less intelligence than a goldfish. Which is why he and his hicks made such a mess of the pandemic, the economy and the protests.
The reason people continue to get sick is that the virus is spreading and mutating. Hence making a vaccine more difficult. The main problem is not just the deaths caused by the virus, but the fact it can make thousands sick at a time, and cause long term medical problems, even in those that had a mild illness.
The virus is novel in that it attacks nearly all cells it comes across. Where ones like influenza attack only respiratory cells, or Ebola the autoimmune cells. Corona will cleave a path through the system. In young kids it probably won't express much as most of the cells are growing and replicating anyway. But in adults and elderly most of the growth is slow and thus an attack is going to be more widely expressed across the organ.
Whatever the life cycle may eventually be. Science and medicine work by ensuring there is more facts and figures on the ground, than opinions and Facebook posts. Taking precautions will help reduce excess issues to an extent that the problem can be studied as objectively as possible.
People dicking around and secretly doing things contrary to precautions is going to mess a lot of data and procedure up.01 Reply- +1 y

@007kingifrit I thought so: "from covid alone" is not the same thing as "from the virus itself", so that's the lie.
And the propaganda is pretending that it makes the slightest difference to the number of people who died of the disease.
Every other country counts their death toll in pretty much the same way, and most of them are doing much better than the US. The EU is doing 10x better, despite also having people lie about the facts.
Good news, by the way, the USA is now in 11th-worst place for deaths per million (Brazil's overtaken you). - +1 y

@007kingifrit No it's not. For example, you can die with acute respiratory distress syndrome, or heart disease, brought on by COVID-19. +1 yThe measures exist to slow down the spread. The virus spreads due to human contact even if there are masks and other things (masks just slow it down). Also, viruses spread in households because families typically take less distance.
The point of quarantine measures is to prevent infected people from infecting other people in completely different places who could then infect more people.
If you infect people in your household and that household is quarantined, not much happens.
If you infect a bunch of people at the supermarket, they then infect their own households who could then infect more people. Remember, most people tend to be asymptomatic so even if infected they won’t notice. Hence, people tested positively need to quarantine.41 Reply- +1 y
And yes, people get sick because it’s a new virus. Also, immune systems are not equally good for all.
It took a while for people to realise it could be transmitted by aerosol, essentially a mask prevents big droplets from landing on surfaces and other people most masks will block around 70% but the remaining 30% goes around the sides of the mask. This is why there are guidelines for how many people can be inside to prevent aerosol transmission.
Oh and most people needed to be aware of wearing glasses as it can be contracted through eyes as well.
There was some interesting research done by Dr Donald Milton, with his gesundheit machine.

It's not all that hard to manage it, but the right wing worldwide wants people scared, because scared people vote for authoritarians.

@Jenson_Dior Heavy smoking is more of a danger of killing them then the Chinese Virus

@Jenson_Dior that's acceptable. life is worth risking other people's lives for

@888theGreat Smoking is not part of the topic. Read the question. And then stop heavy smoking too. Easy as that.

@007kingifrit Same I heard from a colleague in Italy until his wife died of COVIS, then he cried like a baby.
But go for it champ. - +1 y
@Jenson_Dior only 3 out of every 1000 people die, so that's pretty unlikely especially since the average age of death is 80
you're just a pussy - +1 y
@007kingifrit
Instead of you I'm intelligent.
Why do you think in major EU countries the death rate is much lower than US/Brasil and India.
Because we do what is needed to reduce the infection rate.
The reason why the numbers are so high in US and Brasil is due to the fact that the dumb people (def. including you) think they are smart and have not to carry mask and follow specific rules.
If everyone act like you infection rate would go parabolic.
Congrats, peaople die because of your stupidity.
Furthermore it is not yet identified the longterm health issues to your organs if you once had it.
This proofs you are just not educated and have no sense how to act in society.
If you are so tough go and catch the virus and hug your parents and elder friends.
Would have been better your father wanked against the train in the 10 min he was bored. Would have saved us some trouble...
- +1 y
@888thegreat exactly my point. Living isn’t selfish. The people with compromised immune systems want to live through covid. This whole “survival of the fittest” statement IS selfish.
- +1 y
@Lizzzzz288283 The people with compromised immune systems can self-isolate/quarantine if they want, keep themselves safe. In that case, their "adaptation" of of staying away from other people to keep themselves safe would make them more fit for survival. However, those of us who are not concerned about other health problems should be allowed to make our own choices and live our lives normally. We can all be respectful to each other, but no need to control everyone. Just like if someone is allergic to peanuts: they will avoid peanuts, to keep themselves safe; they wouldn't walk into a peanut factory. Those of us who are not allergic to peanuts can continue to eat them. If we know we are going to be around these people who are allergic, we can avoid eating peanuts for a day so we don't expose them.
- +1 y
@Lizzzzz288283 CDC have their fingers up their butts. They didn't know anything from the start. Wear a mask , don't wear a mask, wear a mask. Stay 2 feet away, stay 6 feet , maybe 10 feet , just stay home.
- +1 y
@Jenson_Dior the death rate is actually higher in many european countries. and the mortality rate certainly is. america has the lowest mortality rate which is what really matters
plus Europe isn't the travel hub of the world and doesn't get pandemics as hard as america does
6.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. In other words you can't handle the truth and would prefer some bullshit. We know how Covid-19 spreads. Many cases have been traced to events where people gathered without wearing masks. The University called students back to campus, they partied like it was 2019, and now 1000 are infected.
01 Reply- +1 y
And ur point is. Infection is inevitable. We need to live life🤷🏽♂️
+1 yThe masks are making it worse. And causing other problems. When cities fill fine you for singing hymns in your own car all by yourself at a drive-in church service, or will jail you for wailing outside a synagogue even with a mask on, but Muslims can ignore all the rules and do as they please, along with BLM, Antifa, ISIS, MS13, etc., then you know it has nothing to do with health. It's a coup.

+1 yIf mask work so well then why are people still getting sick?
That's like saying if seat belts work so well why do you need air bags.
Nothing is full proof. A mask is meant to slow down transmission but it doesn't eradicate the virus. Also, look at the number of people who get sick in states where mask compliance is low (Florida and Texas) compared to states where mask compliance is high30 ReplyThe measures in the US were to little too late. People STILL don’t follow the guidelines. Hand washing, masks, distance, mixing households, large gatherings. People having covid parties!
I do my bit, and wear a mask to protect you lot. Be nice if everyone else thought the same.00 Reply- 3.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
u +1 yYes. As I've said many times before, we have massively... MASSIVELY overreacted to this. At this point, unless I see irrefutable evidence to prove otherwise, it's pretty obvious that the Democrats have been playing politics with this whole stupid thing.

And yes this is a political virus... even if he’s lying Trump says we’re close to a cure... he’s either bringing Hope or he’s bringing a cure.00 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Agreed. Most of these rules aren't preventing people from getting sick. People who are scared of covid need to stay home and let everyone else who is willing to go out be allowed to without having to follow stupid rules.
50 Reply5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Some of them made sense early on when very little was known, but within a month the CDC was already debunking most of the measures including as ineffective. For various (political) reasons however, a lot of the most ridiculous requirements passed by state and local governments came even later, which is probably why several governors are now facing legal action by their state legislatures.

80 Reply2.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It is fair to assume that most if not everyone will get this virus eventually. The precautions are there to slow its advance down so the medical services can cope with the worst cases, and to give science a chance to catch up.

+1 yyes they absolutely are. just google up the PCR test they use to claim that people have corona. it's not even ratified for diagnostic purposes. it can not indicate an ongoing infection.
there's just so many layers of bullshit in this entire corona reaction. and the scariest thing is that it's most western nations... not just one.10 Reply Because not everyone is doing it right. People touch their face all the time, so masks don't work if you are in the prescence of the virus. If you'd want everyone to be completely safe from the virus; people should be walking around in hazmat suits or some shit like that.

+1 yNot at all. I’ve actually had to go to Montana and North Dakota, and the restrictions in those states are very very lenient. People didn’t have to wear a mask and weren’t 6 feet apart, let alone staying at home.
So it’s not only not everyone is following the rules, but that also some states are very lenient with their restrictions. And when people can easily travel across state lines easily, America is only as good as it’s worst state.00 Reply2.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. To answer the question... Yes. The agenda is about govt CONTROL over the people, not about safety and health. Very few people are getting seriously sick, and almost nobody is dying. Masks should only be worn by SICK people, not healthy ones. People are using the terms "sham-demic" and "scam-demic" for good reasons.

+1 yCountries that locked things down and took shit seriously have few cases (like less than 15 a day)... Countries that don't do that /didn't do it soon enough / have politics that try to hijack the medical facts are the ones going crazy.

you have everything provided for you , but if some people don't work , they starve
- +1 y
Not sure what that has to do with it? That's the same for everyone tho our governed paths $1200 a fortnight to people out of work during covid and they created "JobKeeper" incentive to keep businesses employing people who aren't needed at work... Perks of having a country that looks after its people!
- +1 y
That is why 30 million or more have no job now. People that never have run a business say this
- +1 y
Still not sure what your point is... Of course I don't own a business I'm 16. Both my parents run businesses... They are being held up by the government, so are their employees, while we wait for covid to improve here (tho most businesses are returning to normal now).

@connythebaker Forming a voluntary contract to work and earn money is a human right. During this time it's irresponsible to continue to do so if it's a high-risk job. However, it's not the place of the government to force everyone to be responsible. That's an individual choice that people need to make.
- +1 y
Okay, I can respect that. I used to like ayn rand back in the day. I will support your case for dropping those restrictions if you support mine for my human right to accept money from strangers for sex in the US (it is a voluntary contract) and for any drugs to be available without prescription (recreational or not - my choice whether I act responsible or not). I also want the 1986 gun-ban lifted, the 2nd ammendment does not contain a single word about fully automatics to be banned.

The majority of the people dying are people that were already in the process of dying, people with cancer, diseases, heart conditions and so on... only about 0.06% of healthy people have been affected, the media makes it seem like it’s a dangerous virus that’s going to kill everybody, but the truth is it’s not, it only kills those that are extremely unhealthy. Even DOCTORS are saying this... including DOCTORS from CHINA...

Covid sure seems to exist only when there’s a trump rally or trump protest, but not when the far left and cuckhold liberal left destroy cities and “peacefully” protest.
The people that are dying from covid are those that were already in the process of dying, how come the weekly and monthly and yearly rates of other medical related deaths have dropped? And covid-19 deaths have risen? How does that even happen?
Fred dies of a motorcycle accident but he had covid so they write it off as a covid death so the hospital can cash a bonus $600.00 from the Covid-19 patient relief fund. - +1 y

Opinion Owner+1 y@TienShenhan He is the head of government. He can dismiss any other member of government at any time. How can his own crew work against him? Why would they even want to?
- +1 y
You really haven't the slightest clue what is going on. The establishment hates Trump, they have worked against him since day 1, and the purpose of these shutdowns is to make him look bad so they can install an establishment president again to undo what he is done. They wanted Hillary to be president so they can have their war with Russia, hence the Russia-gate conspiracy that has no basis in reality. Why would they work against him you ask? Because he will not be controlled by the Deepstate, which is why the smear campaign they started against him in 2016 is still in affect DAILY
Opinion Owner+1 y@TienShenhan The establishment is not the government, but nvm. I think I see what you mean by "deep state". Looks like Trump can only count on his most loyal supporters then, if he is ever to be treated in a just way. Better buy another AR-15 and some 30 clips, just in case... After all a situation like that was what the 2nd ammendment was written for, wasn't it?

No there’s gonna be a new norm... covid will be around killing elderly people for ever. Maybe we can reduce it to flu like symptoms and get rid of the death toll but life will change for elderly people. Even with a cure. I’ve heard it’s mutated many times and if so we prob can’t cure it we’ll just have to live safe...

@VanillaSalt yea but not with all of these bull shit things that are put in place

The shutdowns will change. They will lock up old people and limit access. Families will be split. To prevent spread buildings will hold less people so they will charge more for product... jobs will cost more to employ people so fewer jobs probably paying less.
