Many countries followed tribal systems and this did not help them progress to our modern definitions of success. Of course, 200 years of slave trade, forced occupation, exploitation and battle for survival has hampered many nations (referring to the African continent and others too)
Being a successful nation is not about the color of skin, it is about moving from survival to standard of living to quality of life (this is our definition of success).
Remember, we are only as good as the least of us. So if we see that some are left behind, let us extend a helping hand as we have in the past!
