If a new strain of COVID hits the U. S, how should we cope?

I think we should intern the anti-maskers, give them the virus and experiment on them to gain an understanding of how the new strain spreads and should be treated. And once they've recovered we can harvest convalescent plasma from them until the wave is over.

This was just to see how people reacted, for them to learn what worked and what didn’t work and how they can make it work even better next time. Amazing how the flu season just completely disappeared. You think a cloth mask is going to protect you from one of the most “deadliest” viruses ever when people who work w spray paint, firefighters, welders, etc., wear mask ten times better than what the CDC is telling us to wear. If you can still smell someone’s fart through your mask it’s not working. Trust me I know I work in the medical field as a CNA cleaning people up all day. It doesn’t work.

Existing vaccines are most likely to also work against new strains, for example, the Pfize and the AZ vaccines does work against the newer strains in India.
