Trending & News The word “privileged” has become such a stupid ass politically woke term nowadays I don’t want to answer this question.
I guess you can say I’m much more economically privileged in comparison to other men. But when it comes to power and agency in dealing with females western men are now very underprivileged. Women can scream sexual harassment if we walk up to say hello to them (and they don’t find us attractive.). This is one of the reasons I frequently take trips abroad.
I definitely agree with you when it comes to dating, which is actually quite a big part of life that many men and women want to downplay like it's no big deal. Women do so since they're privileged and don't want to recognize like the usual privileged person and men do so to save face and be too cool for school and then end up lonely as hell
From my experiences visiting Latin American and southeast Asian countries the dynamic is much different. If I were born in one of these countries some aspects of my life would be much harder. But at the same I would have no doubt I would be happily married with kids at this point (same personality, skills and all). Sure I make decent money and live “privileged” financial lifestyle in the USA. I got all the comfort, amenities, etc. But when you are unhappy being single and dealing with spoiled rotten entitled feminist POS when it comes to dating... pick your poison.
It’s one of the reasons I plan to move.
So true. Feminism isn't supposed to be bad but so many modern day feminists have that gross entitlement and simps only make it worse.
I haven't done much travelled to Latin America and southeast Asia. Do you feel it's better to move around one of those areas instead of Europe of Australia?
Which parts of these areas have you had the best experiences and why?
I would recommend Thailand or the Phillipines. Yes most women over there want you for money but it’s different. They see you as a highly valuable asset for survival vs. being a gold digger (who is a lazy sociopathic pos wearing heels).
Women out there (also somewhat in Mexico) look at men to be protectors and providers. It makes lógical sense they are attracted to Americans who likely have much more money. Not because they are lazy but because it their current situation is very tough with much fewer opportunities for women.
The love is still fake in a way but it’s not exploitative. However there is absolutely zero excuse for piece of shit western women to be gold diggers. Women are not only “equal” in our society but very special. They get purposely promoted and shielded more often because of political correctness.
Dang you really hate these western women haha. I don't blame you. Mexico is technically western but I guess it is a completely different lifestyle over there.
I completely agree on your point on political correctness. I definitely feel that some of these women are aware of this but most ignore it or do not want to admit their privilege because that would take away from some of their handouts. People don't usually correlate handouts with privilege, but in this case, it is definitely works in their favor and gives them more power than ever and even more with the simps supporting them. ughh simps make everything worse. They gotta step up their game, stop disrespecting themselves and stop putting up with whatever for pussy. And what's funny is so many of these girls say that simps are just respecting women... oh boy the lack of awareness is unreal.
And it’s ironic the more women get the more miserable they become.
Anyway yes I could tail about this forever. But I don’t think we are too far off from a breaking point in the USA. This bs is ultimately going to harm western women much more then help them.
Well I was abused as a child which would be a down side, I'm poor which is also a downside. However I live in the US which makes me more privileged then 90% of the world, I'm not homeless and while I may have been abused as a child I have no such worries now which is also a privilege. So I would say it is not the best life I could have but its a better life then most will have, so I would say privileged.
Thank you for acknowledging all this. I was also abused as a child and poor but I still consider myself privileged compared to the rest of the world. I know that there are some people here who just want to complain, play the victim and don't want to acknowledge their privilege and it's ridiculous considering they have a device to use for internet access. Of course, I know there are truly underprivileged people, but let's be real, there are definitely a bunch of whiners.
Oh yeah, I think the irony is that people who have had it good their entire life are the most likely to believe they have it bad, because they just don't have the perspective. I think suffering makes you realize how bad things can be so you appreciate what you have when you have it.
I mean what people don't realize is that we are so privileged in this day and age, that we live better then kings did up to even 100 years ago. I mean I have air conditioning, indoor plumbing, I have access to better and more diverse foods and better healthcare then KINGS did for almost all of history. Hell I have better access to these things then most people in the entire world and that is including middle class people in other nations.
I'm not where I want to be in life and part of that is due to how I was raised no doubt, but 99% of it is because of me not because of the world and I think that is the difference. Many people are to afraid to admit their part in how their life is (I have a roomate who hates her entire life, claims every one else gets to be happy but her, how hard things are etc. Yet she is working a better and better paying job then any one she knows, is wealthier then every one else, and works only three days a week (she is a nurse, works I believe 12 hour days three days a week) and then spends the rest of the time sitting around doing nothing. At some point you need to take personal accountability. I think that is the other half of the problem, people don't have perspective on just how bad things can get, the other half is that people don't want to take personal accountability for the way their life is (because they have chosen to live their life that way).
YES I think you're on point with suffering giving us awareness. We are living better than KINGS! and YES for accountability as well! :)
Dangg some Americans are so annoying... Compared to the rest of the world, most of us are privileged. Not enough recognize their privilege or take accountability but I'm really glad we do
The curse of the good life is you never realize you have it until its gone.
Thanks for the MHG!(I think, with auto picks now its hard to tell).
Well thank you then!

The privilege of being a woman:
1) I don't have to go to war and die a horrible death defending my tribe/ kingdom/ country etc.
2) I don't have to stress over making a lot of money because society still expects men to be the main breadwinners
3) I don't have to do difficult and dangerous jobs like carpeting or working in a mine because these jobs tend to be done by men.
4) Women judge men by their height, men judge women by their weight. Weight can change but not height.
5) In emergency situations it's usually "children and women first", women safety is privileged.
Privilege of being a man:
1) they are physically stronger and can physically hurt women more.
2) In cases of war or peace they are less likely to get raped or taken as sex slaves (but they'll be killed, so one would have to choose between rape or death, which is worse).
3) They don't have to give birth and breastfeed.
4) They don't get periods and the pain associated with them
5) they have less pressure when it comes to aging.
Patriarchy might mean that you have more rights but it also means you have more responsibility. I think at the end of the day it balances out.
I don't feel privileged or underprivileged as a woman. The only reason i might be privileged is that I come from a wealthier family than most people in the world and had the chance to grow up in a functional and loving family.
The first part is actually not answering my question because I was asking to compare just between the people of your gender, so you absolutely would be considered at least privileged like you said in your last sentence. I am glad you did a great breakdown for comparing both genders though :)
Oh i thought you aslo asked if I'm more privileged than men
The fact i got bullied for almost 2 decades, don't have more than 1 friend, had to finish 2 kinds of school first wich the 2nd made me go 30.000 euro in debt cause they changed the finincial student support system. Always getting rejected for dates and Jobs.
The 3 that did agree on dates Just played me , cheated on me and dumped with in 3 months or even after 1 date
Not being able to buy a house while the rent market is overcrowded and also too expensive.
Wich makes me need a partner to be able to afford living somewhere else than at my parents.
Having a b12 deficiency disease meaning My body only absorbs it when it is litterally inject in the blood directly.
Always being forgotten about even by family.
Unless People need something of me.
Always get told I am nice guy when getting rejected and that I will find someone.
Or be asked how I am still single by women all the time that also have 0 interest in dating me
Yeah my life is possibly one of the worst kinds
Yes it does, and it is not even all
But offcourse People keep saying I have White straight male privilege
I am in America. Thus, privileged.
As billionaire Warren Buffett explains it with his concept of The Ovarian Lottery.
https://www.sloww.co/ovarian-lottery/
=========
You don’t know whether you’re going to be born black or white. You don’t know whether you’re going to be born male or female. You don’t know whether you’re going to be born bright or retarded. You don’t know whether you’re going to be born infirm or able-bodied. You don’t know whether you’re going to be born in the United States or Afghanistan.
In other words, you’re going to participate... in what I call the ovarian lottery.
It’s the most important event in which you’ll ever participate. It’s going to determine way more than what school you go to, how hard you work, all kinds of things.
...
[Y]ou would also want a system that... treated the people that did not win the ovarian lottery in a way that you would want to be treated if you were in their position. Because a lot of people don’t win the lottery.
When (Charlie Munger and I) were born the odds were over 30-to-1 against being born in the United States. Just winning that portion of the lottery, enormous plus. We wouldn’t be worth a damn in Afghanistan. We’d be giving talks, nobody’d be listening. Terrible. That’s the worst of all worlds. So we won it that way. We won it partially in the era in which we were born by being born male.
When I was growing up, women could be teachers or secretaries or nurses, and that was about it. And 50 percent of the talent in the country was excluded from, in very large part, virtually all occupations.
We won it by being white. You know, no tribute to us, it just happened that way.
*rolls eyes* ... There's always going to be someone underprivileged in the world. People who've lived sheltered lives wouldn't grasp this concept. Just as how they can't grasp a basic understanding that society is complex.
A lot of people say whites are privileged. Go visit some of the small towns in Europe where you don't have a shower you "bath" yourself by spraying yourself from the sink. You sometimes don't even have running water. Then come back to me about privileged white people.
So just making sure, you think you're privileged compared to most of the Earth right? I'm not talking about white privilege at all. I'm talking about how you're not enslaved by a North Korean dictator and not homeless or without shelter and stuff like that or maybe you consider yourself even more privileged than that or do you think you're average?
I see what I said went sailing over your head & wasn't comprehended in the slightest. How embarrassing.
@Birdlegs Thank you. I am pretty sure opinion owner is white and she's been called privileged because she's white and she doesn't like that, which I get especially if she grew up with little but yeah I didn't say anything about white privilege.
@anonymous To have internet access is a privilege and all these things that you're saying Europeans don't have but you obviously have is another reason why you're privileged. No one is saying because you're white. You don't have to worry about not having a shower and you have running water and without visiting, I can already agree with you that they're not privileged but you most definitely are and again, not because you're white.
Underprivileged, but not as bad as people in major third-world crapholes, like North Korea, most of China, much of India, and almost all of Central and South America. So, while I may be from the first world (US/South Korea), I'm one of the more poor ones by first-world standards.
Physically, I am slightly below average in all aspects except weight. I'm like a 4 across the board physically, and a 1 in fitness/body.
Oh, and I also had a horribly abusive childhood and probably a sociopath because of it. If that matters.
Its was between privileged or very privileged , hard to say , but not in the super elite so I counting them as VERY , and accepting a rung down the ladder , the sad thing is if every single person genuinely had access to the question , even to know the questions meaning , so many extremely poor , with no social security around the world , starving or at war.
Privileged, even though it's a privilege that I built for myself.
I have a family of my own, a great job and a decent amount of riches.
Nobody gifted me any of this though, mind you. So you make your own privileges, through hard work and dedication.
THat depends on the level of cultural progress of said part of the world. I have been allowed to get this lucky since I live in a "terrifying capitalistic republic", while those who live in the grasp of communism regimes or are still parts of a tribe can realistically NEVER attain any level of self realization for that is not allowed, or just possible, in those kind of societies.
We all have the chance of being as lucky as I've been because America and Europe configurations in terms of production and politics allow it. They come with their own set of issues, but nobody's barred from personal success, at the very least.
I would say about average. I’m more fortunate then other people of my race to have both parents, a good home, each sibling has their own car, and parents that are financially stable and everything that comes with that however, emotionally and mentally I’m below average. My parents are Caribbean and my dad’s way of “caring” about the family was very toxic and abusive. Everyone’s in therapy including my mom. I appreciate my living conditions but the environment makes me want to leave (and I soon will once I finish college).
I have a roof over my head, food and running water. I have free education and healthcare. I live in a democratic country where I can have a say in politics. I won’t be forced into war or marriage and abortion is legal. Perhaps some would say in terms of the social aspects (e. g. race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality) I’m less privileged but I think I’m pretty privileged personally
Privileged, voted B. I’m white in America, fairly well-off through no effort of my own, and chicks have historically liked me enough so that I don’t worry about being single for life. Only thing I’m missing is fame, influence, and elite athletic ability (but I’m pretty athletic as amateurs go).
I am privileged in comparison to marginalized groups. I am not, however, a part of the HIGHLY privileged groups of society, meaning I came from poverty.
I am privileged. I’m from a first world country was never too broke I’m not from an area where I’d get swept up in gang activity and I was able to go to school I’d say that’s better than like 75% of the world
I'm a white heterosexual female born in Finland. You don't get much more privileged than that. Maybe if my family was rich, but middle class is still pretty okay.
I'm between underprivileged and average, so below average.
I have a good life, but I worked hard to attain it.
I consider myself privileged because I have running water and air conditioners and heaters and internet and food.
Made a phone call and i should get a check more then my last years income from my Inheritance. The stress i had to get here is god awful. It's still a better option to get by then most people my age.
Grew up not worried about having food or water or a place to call home, so compared to the planet as a whole I’d say I’m pretty fortunate
I may not be as wealthy as others but I got pretty spoiled by foster parents so...
We went on the beach quite often. The zoo too. And the aquarium as well.
But wait! There's more!
privileged. i have a bit of irish in me though and they have been marginalized throughout history. otherwise yeah i was born pretty lucky
Out of all of the men in the entire world, I'm privileged.
Out of American men, I'm underprivileged.
I voted privileged. I have a safe place to live, plenty of food to eat, and a steady income. I think I'm pretty fortunate.
Considering how many are barely scraping by, very lucky.
I'm just an average guy. I didn't come from a rich or poor family. I worked hard for everything I have, so did my dad.
Grew up in a nice place, went to good schools, have never starved.
Being born as white boy in middle class family in a rich country, gave me some advantages. Do I feel any shame or guilt for that? ... Nope
I'm in American I am... was very privileged
I don't know. I've been though enough shit I know I'm not privileged at all
i enjoy the hard work of a self made man
