Fines will be incurred if men have waists over 33.5 inches or 35.4 inches for women.

I totally agree with it. On the surface it sounds kind of mean, but just look at the 10 million diet books are on the market, and all of the plethora of magic potions out there for weight loss.
People are struggling to find a magic cure for this, and I think the Japanese may have just found it.
Not a good time to be a sumo wrestler is it. If they brought those fines to the uk we could probably cut taxes in half.
i mean obesity should be taken more seriously but having the government fine you for it doesn't sound like the right way to do it.
If the government is paying for your healthcare, then it makes sense to me.
@DaisyJones nah it reeks of fascism to me. We should always highly encourage but never require this by law.
I had a college teacher from Hong Kong. He said where he's from, college is free!!!
But the government picks your major, NOT you.
I think that makes sense. We don't need to be giving out government money for Toxic Masculinity majors, and if the government pays for your healthcare, they should "motivate" you to stay healthy.
They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions... I'd add that there's probably a thick layer of "encouragement" paved on those roads.
@DaisyJones ok well requiring it by law still isn't the answer in my opinion lol. Nor sure what else to tell you.
You don't have to tell me anything.
@DaisyJones cool. well i don't agree with you then.
When I go to Walmart, I see people as big as a house. The first thing they do is look for a motorized scooter. I feel bad for their eating disorder, but these are the people driving up healthcare costs.
If the government is going to pay for these costs, then I think their should be strict guide lines.
I get that you don't agree, and that's fine.
@DaisyJones its been proven that if we implemented universal health care we would actually SAVE money though. but im sure you'll conveniently ignore that huh?
What the fuck are you talking about?
I saw a giraffe on TV today. But I suppose you'll ignore that.

just read all those. hopefully you'll get it.
This will explain why fat people shouldn't be fined? Isn't that the topic?
@DaisyJones ok are you for or against universal free healthcare? if you are then good but obese people shouldn't be forced to pay a fine for it.
I'm for universal healthcare, but it would work better if people did their part to make it work.
And I bet you that fat people would LOVE a law that discouraged them from getting fat.
@DaisyJones if you have data to back up that bet then id be on your side there. But as it is i still dont like or agree with it.
by the way what happens if they just flat out refuse to lay the fine?
Pay*
I have no idea. You're the one who asked the question about the fine.
@DaisyJones not me the question asker mentioned it. and i just disagree with it.
Oh, sorry. I got you mixed up with the asker.
How could they collect the fine if you don't want to pay? Garish your wages. If the government wants the money, they'll find a way to get it.
@DaisyJones its not right... i can't support that
Then don't move to Japan.
@DaisyJones ok then lol. i guess we're done.

Being obese can cause health problems and I don’t like lazy people.
I understand some people might be obese to health problems though and not because they are lazy.
Anyway I agree with it though. I think it is good
makes sense, obesity costs all of society

All Sumo move to NYC where no one bother the fatties
