Why do people often say “I don’t care about race.” Do you realize being colorblind to race is racist and shows your privilege?
I recognize different races - Caucasian, African, Asian - just as I recognize different ethnicities. But I don't stereotype people based on those things. The biggest thing that divides people is culture. But I assess each person as an individual.
I am well aware of what people from different parts of the world have endured throughout history. Colonialism, for example, was, and still is, monstrous. Horrific things happened to people in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Americas, Ireland, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, for example.
There is still a great deal of injustice in the world. I am all about correcting injustice. I despise any kind of bigotry. But I also have little sympathy for people like some Jews and some blacks who whine about history in order to make their plight seem extra special. They display their privileged lives by whinning. Fuck them. Boo hoo hoo, holocaust. Boo hoo hoo, slavery.
I have come to despise BLM because it is racist as hell. White privilege is such a stupid addage. At the same time, I have the greatest respect for the civil rights leaders throughout history and through the 1970s. Those who oppose civil rights are my enemies. I believe in liberty and justice for all. We all need to act like brothers and sisters and unite against our common enemy - the global banking establishment and unimaginably wealthy and powerful elites who are bent on global totalitarianism and play us off against each other in order to accomplish that.
Not recognizing race requires you to basically ignore statistics and scientific data. So, someone that "doesn't see race" is just engaging in willful ignorance which is must worse than being racist. If they actually weren't sticking their head in the sand they'd have to acknowledge unpleasant realities. An example of this would be the only "white privilege" that exists, which is the fact that we have higher IQs. Something that they would need to acknowledge to even logically discriminate against blacks (aka be racist) unless they're going to use their feelings or something retarded like that.
Saying "I don't care about race" is not the same as saying "I don't see color." You can acknowledge that people have different ethnicities without being affected by it in the way you judge and treat people.

On the one hand the left tells us that race is just a social construct and doesn't really exist as a valid biological category. Then on the other hand these same people embrace bogus doctrines like Critical Race Theory and are themselves absolutely obsessed with race. When I hire somebody for my department I usually get a pile of applicants. On the back of the application there are questions about race, sexual identity and disabilities. I make it a rule to not turn the application over and look at any of that stuff. I just go with the person's qualifications. Does that make me racist?
I don't care about race and I am not going to treat you differently just because your skin tone is acclimated towards a warmer climate lol.

We aren't talking about "someone" we are talking about a group of people who have been disadvantaged which (on average) makes it harder for them to succeed. And this is attested by higher poverty and incarceration rates among African Americans, disparities that CANNOT be explained away by individual choices.
Would it be wrong to assume that someone is in prison because they're black? Yes, BUT when 34% of the prison population is black when they make up 13% of the population, that tells you that something's wrong.
If that’s the case then you are forgetting about all of the African American individuals who go on to live successful lives. I know many who are doctors, accountants, HR reps, computer scientists etc. and chances are, you do too. You are essentially telling them that they were never meant to succeed and fulfill their life dreams because of some sort of vague barrier that’s keeping them down.
This is why I would argue is a class issue and not a race issue, cops are just as big of an issue with everyone who lives in poorer areas because poverty breeds crime and keeps that area poor.

No one is saying that it's impossible for black people to get ahead, the argument is that it's more difficult for them to succeed. Why? Because white people have an income that's on average 1.6 times that of black people. And as for some black people succeeding proving racism isn't an issue, well I guess since some people born into slavery became millionaires, Jim Crow laws weren't really holding black people down:

@Ad_Quid_Orator You are right, I forgot that you put on average on there. Even still, how do you know that they have it harder? I'm doubting the income part because feminists make the same argument with the same weakness: they look at the average and say that sexism is the ONLY cause of it. Sure racism might be there but it could also be the types of jobs, hours worked etc. You can't know for sure and the reasons might differ by the person. Didn't we make that illegal?
I can see the argument for rich African Americans in the Jim Crow laws because iirc, not every state state had them like how slavery was.
Finally, I'm doubting the "real racists" arguments you got here unless the literacy tests were applied to everyone, otherwise the critique makes no sense.
The "real racists" in today's context refer to those who want diversity quotas and affirmative action arguing that it is racist to make entry to the employment or school easier for some races and harder for others.
I know it's harder because black people have lower education and higher incarceration and poverty rates. Either there's something impeding them from succeeding or there's something fundamentally inferior about black people. As for Jim Crow laws, there were successful black people in those states as well.
If we are talking about the black people who live in the inner city then sure. The schools there probably suck because they can’t find any teacher who are willing to work in a dangerous area. Incarceration rates are as high as they are because poverty breeds a lot of crime and since they live in the city, the cost of living is insane compared to more rural areas.
The rich blacks in the JC law areas I guess makes sense because the most noticeable effect is that blacks and whites were “separate but equal”.
Being colourblind to race is not racist, as is clear by the very definition of what racism is. It may be racially insensitive or even ignorant but it's not racist.
Not seeing and not caring are very different. I couldn't give a rats arse what religion colour or sex you are. If you are nice we can be friends, if you're a moron we can't. It's that simple for me.
