He didn't do that well when the economy was going well, he just continued the Unemployment, economic growth trend that was going up during Obama's last years. He didn't payback any debt or anything.

People are just morons. Trump was a guy who withdrew funding from the WHO during a global pandemic, is a climate change denialist with unsustainable ideals and labelled covid-19 a hoax while the mortality rate for it in the US was over 7% (not 0.007% like the fucking moron hellionthesagereborn falsely states) - that's almost 7 deaths for every hundred cases. He ridiculed the use of masks and downplayed the importance of social distancing to try and gain popularity among the morons and the ideologically deluded.

His economic plan was based on short term gains. Things like lowering taxes for the high end of town has short term effects which end up being wiped out by the national expenses which are caused by corporate greed. His economics were based on being reelected and not on improving or even sustaining the nation.

As someone who studies economics all day, there’s no deniability that trumps unconventional approach to expansionary policies had a huge benefit to the American people. What you’re saying is factually and equivocally untrue. You don’t have to like Trump to acknowledge the economy did extremely well. There are some things that I didn’t like, and things I did like. Application is subjective, but the data all showcases that Trump had a great economy pre covid, and he had an entirely different approach.

He added 6 trillion to the debt and most of the success was based on policies put in place that he rode the coattails of. Later successes were done out of tax breaks for corporations.

His politicization of the pandemic is still having a negative impact on our economy as a lot of places could have been opened sooner had he actually taken it seriously and encouraged mask usage.

The stimulus checks and unemployment checks under Biden, while mired in good intentions, only further exacerbated the issue with employers finding it harder to bring in employees again. This just goes to further show that people are just genuinely stupid in taking the short term gain instead of the long term one of steady work. They are thinking good jobs will be available when the checks ended and everyone else is banking on the same thing.

Also you linked an opinion article which sort of taints it as a fact based article. Even if we take it at face value and look at what forecasters predicted, it just goes to show they were wrong just as they were about Biden's first job #'s forecast.

Heck, if we even look at how polls for the election were done and how Hillary was expected to win and the predictions for certain states were anticipated to play out it is clear the whole presidency was an exercise in going against the expected norms. Nobody had ever seen a president like him (and hopefully never will again) and it messed up their predictions. We need to see how this plays out over the long term and see what effects these 3 presidents, along with a once in a lifetime pandemic, had on an economy before making a fully formed decision on how good any of them truly did.

@Ez-Bri-Z Do you understand that there’s good debt and bad debt? Good debt and running a strategic trade deficit has so many benefits. The idea is to leverage debt towards growth and then repay the debt. His approach towards expansionary policy was great in my opinion.

Had that money gone to keeping smaller business afloat then I may have agreed with you, however it didn't and even the relief plans that were supposed to go to help legit businesses ended up being a slush fund for his friends and supporters in some cases.

Economics can be consider a dismal science, and it’s extremely easy to manipulate public sentiment when the mass public doesn’t even realize the different types of unemployment and how they measured it.
