No. I generally avoid killing things. I usually catch things like spiders and wasps that get in the house and put them outside. I definitely kill bugs that annoy or try to feed on me. Sometimes I have no choice but to kill ants, spiders and certain other bugs that get in the house.
I've even had to set traps for the rare mouse that got in the house, but I felt bad.
Outdoors, the only bugs I eliminate are yellow jackets when the build a nest in our yard. They beneficial bugs, but they are also little ass holes. They can live somewhere else besides my yard.
I also wiped out a paper wasp nest that was built in an inconvenient spot because my wife got bitten/stung twice when passing by. Usually they aren't aggressive at all. But I had to get rid of that particular nest.
The only species of rattle snake in our region is non aggressive and fairly small. Nothing like a big western diamond back or some species that are particularly dangerous.
Occasionally one will accidentally make its way into our garden. I catch and relocate them to another place on our property away from the house and garden where they'll be happy and safe. I love snakes and appreciate the fact that rattle snakes help keep the rodent population down. They are good guys who mean no harm, so I don't harm them. I just can't have them around an area where I might accidentally frighten them and get bit.
Not accurate, would be a better response.
I will not harm animals, with the exception of poisonous snakes, spiders and scorpions.
Even then, I will try to avoid harming poisonous snakes etc. unless it cannot be helped.
Animals know. I hand feed a range of wild creatures every day. When animals are sick or injured, they approach me for help.
Yesterday, while I was working a security shift in a big botanic garden, I spent 2.5 hours carrying a sick ring-tail possum in a baby blanket, while she and I waited for the RSPCA Animal Ambulance to arrive. The wild possum let me pick her up, wrap her in the blanket, and carry her as I patrolled the garden.
I do not have a problem with doing all manner of harm to people who have it coming. This former soldier has been there and done that.
I am a friend to animals. People. . . not so much.
I kill flies, spiders, ants... and not gonna lie, if it was legal, I'd probably maim certain humans that annoy me 🤣
Nope, definitely not true for me. I'm that person that keeps insect spray readily available to kill any bugs I see in my house.
I used to hurt flies, but now I don't have to. My brother bought me a salt rifle. (Biden has threatened to ban them, but they'll never get mine.)
Once the word got out in the bug kingdom that I was packin', flies avoid me look ke the plague.
@molonski2
Flies and bees don't stand a chance. LOL And the ammo is cheap.
Thanks for the MHO
@molonski2
Thailand?
@molonski2
Where in Thailand?
@molonski2
OK, right across the water from Pattaya. Yes, I know Thailand pretty well. I briefly taught English there.
Yes Kimmy , I have a condo over there also ( Bang Saray ) , although now I can travel the Kingdom again ( vaccine ) right now its a LONG drive as you know.. Sadly the high speed Ferry has now been officially cancelled. But yeah Hua Hin is pretty kool , you wouldn't believe how quiet :(
Funny going back to these guns ( back in the day in Aussie ) this well known sports store I worked in , expensive on rifles etc , so we'd rarely sell , but kids loved Air rifles / Salt Guns / BB Guns , which we'd sell heeps of , piled up on this mass display.
We used to have competitions with the BB guns , back wall was Solid brick , maybe 40/ 50 metres ( yards ) and you had a big Polly styrene MSD on this back wall , you had to hit the middle of the D , of course smashing into the brick , and Rick Oshey , back out the front door at pace.
Dont try this at home kids ! hahahaha
Sadly when the guns went we had to utilise other sporting endeavours :)
@molonski2
My nephew told me that they had BB guns in the Olympics. I was shocked.
@molonski2
Chiang Mai was my favorite city. Have you been there?
Hey Kimmy , yes I have , bit cooler and inland , some horrendous pollution there , just prior to CV , not sure of Status now , my sister loves it there , she won't go anywhere else.
So , Im just kind of hanging around , HH is my perm base , then I have Bang Saray , Ranong ( South ) and a mate in Phuket , so Im looking forward to travelling again.
I've been here around 4 years full time.
@molonski2
I think Rayong is South of Pattaya. I'm shocked to hear that Chiang Mai has pollution. It's such a beautiful place. I loved riding my bicycle in Chiang Mai. I bought it at a shop that rents bikes. Thai bikes are total crap, but my used bike was a Japanese bike. I loved to ride it to the open markets that sold fruit and vegetables in Northern Chiang Mai.
I bought fish from guys on a canal in Northern Chiang Mai. They made spears out of bicycle spokes, and put them in their air rifles, and had a string on the spear. Food was dirt cheap if you don't mind doing your own cooking.
I hated Bangkok. Way too crowded for me. And I hate the fucking Songkran Water festival. LOL
Kimmy , there is Ranong ( on way to Phuket ) and Rayong which is Sth of Pattaya , easily mistaken.
Yes , some wonderful markets everywhere , there is a joy for sure in living that way , I've done bits of that.
Id say to you ( Bangkok ) takes a few trips before you will get it , look Im well out of that mix now , and I've been twice to visit , or organise things for others. There really is a joy there , its suprisingly localised ( you tend to stay in your own patch ) , but completely understand what you are saying , Chalk / Cheese Bangkok to Hua Hin , I say to Aussies we are their Rosebud ( costal town in Vic ) 1 hour Melb CBD.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh COME ON KIMMY ! You are no fun , you gotta enbrace Songkran festival , its all about colour and water , and its so very much fun , sure you going to get a little wet , just think of it as trying to explain Halloween to an Aussie ! All is fun , high spirits..
No harm done. Really miss Songkran :( last two years , when it comes back it will be HUGE !
@molonski2
I'm off to bed. Songkran is awesome if you're in a city without farang. Farang fuck the whole thing up.

I swat fly's. On the other side of that I do tend to leave house spiders alone. Just keep their webs from getting too out of control and that's it. Because the spiders do very much help keep the population of bugs in one's place to a minimum. So I think its odd how people go after all the both bugs and spiders in place. Then wind up with with a lot of fly's and nat's in their place.
i kill some bugs an have rats, i do feel bad, but on the other hand sometimes u just have to... but i wish i never had to do it... i mean it gets one life an u kill it... I don't know seems wrong yet.. seems to u have to do it sometimes, its hard. i dont like to hurt anyone, i dont do it, an wouldn't unless i had to in defense, even then id feel bad.
I take it as a metaphor this sentence. And that means "I am so innocent that I do not harm even the smallest living thing". But otherwise instead of killing the fly, you open the window and let it fly away. It is never acceptable to kill a living thing, even a fly. God gave that life to the fly, not you.
I murder flies all the time. But if we are talking figuratively, I wouldn't say I wouldn't even hurt a fly but rather I would try not to hurt anyone unless it was entirely warranted. Some times people need a good punch to the mouth.
I don't go out of my way to hurt flies. However I deliberately let spiders, dragonflies, and praying mantises live because they DO deliberately hurt flies... and mosquitoes also. I also deliberately don't hurt honeybees.
No, I will kill it especially the mosquitoes. If killing insects is a crime, I would definitely be in jail for the rest of my life haha lol.
Nope. I have an electrified "tennis racket' to prove it, too.
Excuse me now: I have to go out and spread our weekly dose of ant killer around the house and garden.
Fuck no! I kill any fly with reach, and other annoying bugs too. I'd also not hesitate to kill a human if I deemed it necessary, and of course, that's very situational.
I have a bug zapper that looks like a tennis racket. I love zapping flies with this. It makes them sizzle.
Depends on the situation. If I'm protecting my kids- that's definitely not applicable
Yes I save insects🤣🤣🤣I don’t want to crush them :(((
I won’t get physical, but I can be brutally honest. I’m gonna tell it like it is and speak my mind, and people don’t like that. I have no filter
No. Live and let live for the most part but I will not be a doormat for your petty whims to walk over.
No. I hate flies. I enjoy killing them, because they piss me off.
Yes, given half a choice.
Rare to get that choice though - lots of aggression around
True enough. I don't hurt flies, I kill them. They don't even know what hit them.
I will hurt a fly. I don't have a fly swatter in my
room for aesthetics
No, I hate flies and love killing them, especially with a Bug-A-Salt.
I also hunt and fish.
No, violence is an answer not necessarily right but it is effective
The flies stand a better chance than the humans do around me
Hmmm, are you an INFP?
Not that I know of.
i have hurt many flies. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
For the most part. Unless I get pissed.
:O :O
Definitely not. I'm a sociopath.
I've killed many insects!
No i'm a serial killer of bugs
I hate flies so I'll definitely hurt them
I looooove flies, magnificent bastards.
No cause I dislike flies 😒
Hell no, I love swatting flies, lol.
Insects are all I have killed.
I've hurt mosquitoes
Nope.
