Obviously it’s a bit tongue-in-cheek, but yes. That’s an accurate telling of events. It touched on a bunch of things while being concise and to the point. It’s a fine piece.
Obviously distrust in the media goes back further than that though. All the sjw nonsense came in the wake of GamerGate, and before that we can see footage of these ideas at protests going back to Occupy.
But Trump brought it all to a head. The establishment miscalculated and their attempt at damage control showed everyone what they were really like, and what they would do to stay in power.
Standard Russian misinformation. Putin hates America. You didn't know?

There is a fundamental difference between the examples cited, and the actual changes in policy and medical advice concerning the virus. The difference is that things like gender or the behavior of Jessie Smollett don't change, and the science that drives the advice regarding masks, social distancing, and vaccines is dynamic and changes as we learn more, as it should.
New research and new studies yield new knowledge which in turn yields new advice. If you cannot tolerate that, or see something nefarious in it, then don't take the vaccine, and enjoy your possibly very short life.
And you've missed the entire point of the article. It's about trust, or the lack thereof, and people are now mistrustful after having been lied to constantly (especially by the media) for years now, if not decades.
I voted C for this :)
