A man should have a say...*IF* there are genetic disorders /high risk factors that are likely to be passed on to the child.

Also, if a man was used as a "sperm donor" without written consent and a mutually agreed upon arrangement for paying child support (or not) then he should not be forced to "take financial responsibility" for a child he did not willingly conceive.
(not applicable to accidents or the informed) If I use a condom, don't expect me to not demand an abortion if the condom fails, my bloodline has too much crud in it for this world. And sure as hell don't expect me to pay child support if you didn't ask me to pay for an abortion first and or you plan to deny me full time or at least 50/50 custody.

I wholeheartedly disagree. How is it fair that a man would be forced to take care of a child (directly or just financially) if he doesn't want or isn't ready, to begin with?

So a woman carries the child 9 months in her belly, which give him no right of saying, but somehow we are supposed to spend money on the child until they are 18 (or even 21 here in the Netherlands)? Money we work for each month that is. Now compare 9 months to 18/21 years. How is that fair?

I would say, a woman should be able to make the choice to keep the child, but the man should be allowed to distance himself in any shape or form in case he doesn't agree with her keeping the child.

Women should have complete control of their bodies.

But, men should have a say in it too, as some guys want children. Or don't want children. If a woman decides, a man should have options too!

Like how much to pay. Child support is based on an antiquated idea that the woman will be somewhat of a stay-at-home mom. In this day in age no. Most women work, and tend to have more degrees and better paying jobs than guys, for the ones who seek out ambitious careers.

We need to get off the percentage idea at family court, and base on actual expenses. Not 25% off the top of the guy's pay, and then responsible for half of all other expenses. If the woman wants to push her man into fatherhood, he should also get a say in all things related to the kid. No more of this alienating daddy 'Because he is bad' while forcing him into child support to 18-21.

I really don't have a solid answer to this one. It is the woman carrying the baby, but it does seem pretty heartless to the guy to say 'screw you, I'm getting an abortion and any parental attachment you feel means essentially nothing!'
I'm extremely grateful I never had to be worried about whether or not to get an abortion in my life. The only time I had an unplanned pregnancy it was a very happy thing for both me and my husband. I can't imagine being in that situation (and fortunately I personally won't ever have to worry about it)

The man is the father, security, comforter and provider in most cases. The woman doesn't automagically get to the end of those 9 months without input of the father. Sure if the father is feckless or deadbeat then that is a different issue, but legally that would be in the decision anyway.

However, just as in divorce a women is started at being entitled to around half of the assets, regardless of what she's done. So is the case of a child being born, for the father.

Yes a man should have a say as to whether a woman gets an abortion or not. See here's the rub, women, according to the law, do have the option to not become a parent, men on the other hand do not. American women have 19 means and methods to terminate and/or prevent pregnancy. Morerover they shit tons of government programs to aid them in pregnancy and paternity. Basically, that is true. I consider the right to abortion as the right not to be obligate to give more than first-aid. If someone is injured or in immediate need of medical help, you are obligated to provide first-aid, to call 911, or take him to a hospital. However, you are not obligated to pay his hospital bill; let alone pay for months of rehabilitation.

If it were technically feasible to go to a hospital and there was a simple procedure to remove the fetus and place the fetus in some incubator, after which you had no further obligation, that would be like giving first-aid. That is, like first-aid, it is a very short duration--minutes or hours--not days, weeks, and months. However, you are not, in my opinion, obligated to support the fetus for months, pay all the expenses of doing so, have all the discomforts of pregnancy, including your reputation, and stretch marks that affect your appearance which can decrease your desirability with some men.
