Well California is 100 democrat controlled and has been for decades. It has the highest taxes, highest housing costs, highest homeless population, highest illegal immigrant population and second highest crime rate after Chicago. That’s what your democracy has to offer no thanks

More capitalisic And democracy is a horrible system when you allow every once a vote. There's a reason why the founding fathers called democracy ruled by the mob and considered a horrible system and setup our system As a constitutional Republic with limited voting
The US is a constitutional republic. As flawed as capitalism is, it is far better that the theories of socialism and communism that when tried, failed. Human nature fits the capitalist system best and every time you try to bend people against their will, they will resist. Human nature is very powerful.
See what you don't understand is you are only seeing the shadows on the wall and you are only perpetuating a self fulfilling prophecy doomed to go in circles forever
I am saying that you promote and propagate all the flaws in capitalism and in every economic system there has ever been with the thinking and belief you have about human nature. Thus becoming a self fulfilling prophecy running around in circles
Yea people are incredibly brainwashed or retarded and masochist to like and support capitalism because it is the very definition of corruption but they keep on worshipping capitalism as they are being raped... 🤦🤦🤦

Democracy is a political system, Capitalism is an economic system. You can be both Capitalistic and Democratic. The opposite of Capitalist is socialist. When Socialism goes past the available resources it becomes communist. When Capitalism starts over regulating the competition it becomes Fascist. When the government starts controlling the production and the labor you have totalitarianism.
I literally never claimed the US wasn’t a republic, that was something you assumed. Democracy has always been a fundamental goal for the US, it’s a fundamental American value.
I’m saying that democracy should be put first before capitalism in order for the best preferred outcomes for the future
That’s inanely divisive. Considering the fact that so many billionaires have done their best to make the individual average person to think stuff like global warming, income inequality, etc.
is their fault, when in reality it always comes down to the rich, they’re the ones using countless amounts of our resources so it’s pointless for us to cheery pick individuals when we should be putting the blame one the actual problem: corporations, corporate frauds, the wealthy elites.
In other words, participating in capitalism in no way makes me incapable of critiquing capitalism.
If you genuinely believe that voting with your dollar is going to make the big enough impact, it just isn’t realistic. That’s not going to work on people that have accumulated so much wealth they could single handed lay end homelessness , poverty, and hunger in America while still have trump change to spend.
Once both the consumers and workers unit than actually change is able to happen, once people know where the actual problem is coming from. That’s when change can happen.
Definitely more democratic, for a country that constantly says they are the best country in the world they sure don’t treat their citizens well unless they are rich and or white
It’s impossible for them to be perfectly balanced. Theirs always going to be conflicting issues cause democracy advocates for the equality of all where as capitalism contradicts that in many ways as it inherently promotes the exploitation of at least someone in order for the free market to reward billionaires and keep consumers happy
Imagine a system that chooses what system is best for the economical sectors.
If capitalism is becoming damaging, then it slowly drifts to the left, and if socialism is failing, then it slowly drifts back to the right. Like a mediator to make sure both sides get their time to shine, and so that one side doesn't get too much power without being mediated.
Id say smaller government. If we didn’t have such a long shutdown buisnesses would still be open and unemployment wouldn’t be so bad but everyone wants a free check now and not to mention all the people that refused to pay rent because it was illegal to be evicted. If they are kicked out its only right.
Thank you! Finally someone with some common sense and observation skills! Whoever actually believes in infinite growth is seriously lacking mental faculties
Capitalist; even poor people in America are richer than the rest of the world. Also the richest people didn't start out that way. 250 years ago everyone was a serf.
That’s a poor excuse. There are countries that have improved poverty, America’s done absolutely nothing to improve it. Instead it’s just made it much worst by criminalizing homelessness and commodifying housing leaving a bunch of houses empty since people are unable to afford them, the builders are more willing to build luxury houses for the rich than affordable housing for the poor since they can make a bigger profit doing vice versa
Poor excuse? America has been sending aid to most of those countries that have improved poverty. Have you never heard the saying a high tide raises all ships. Even poor people in America are wealthier than 90% of the rest of the world.
@disgustingweebtrash Would you like to switch your life with that of a serf? I actually work 40 hours a week. I would work more; but we have a progressive tax rate that takes my hard work for the benefit of the government.
Slave, society has surpassed the need for labour with the potential for automation yet you willingly become tax cattle for the state whilst the class above you pays 0 tax vs you
Well, this country is one of the most right wing in its politics than the other developed countries. We rarely get any democratic bills passed in office
We get legislative lag in general. It’s one of the worst in the world. Government is cyclical, but during this season we have a blue sweep. Part of the issue with our economy is the debasement of money, and deadweight loss in regards to price controls that are often so heavily influenced from the left. The left often promotes contractionary policy as well, even at in opportune times. Right now, we need expansionary policy considering all the money printing. Contracting the circulation is a bad idea. I’m actually in school getting another degree in economics right now. I study macro all day. If I recommend a book that teaches you about economics, would you read it? It’s not politically based. It’s a college styled lecture series. Might open your eyes away from the cheerleading of left and right. Left and right policies have their place in the economy, central banks run most of the show though.
You see this a lot in the younger adults. There is a real disconnect in understanding how our society works, how it succeeds, and what really causes parts of it to fail. Many liberals become conservatives after they have to work to put food on the table, pay taxes, buy homes, put children through school, etc… capitalism gives everyone even footing to succeed IF THEY WANT TO.
Considering the fact that the majority of boomers are holding all the wealth and boomers hold conservative viewpoints on average. I’m not sure which universe that’s remotely true?
You probably won’t like to hear this, but the richest people in America fund the same right wing propaganda that republicans eat up like junk food so much.
Of the 50 richest families, 28 mainly donate to Republicans and only seven contribute mainly to Democrats.
Also it’s not surprising tech billionaires are finding democrats considering the fact that a conservatives biggest fear is being attacked by kpop stans on Twitter 😂 - Fox News’s words not mine !
Conservatives believe they’re being targeted on every social media platform? Why tf would a tech billionaire support that, and either way it’s not like funding democrats means they’re progressive. Bill gates still exploits his workers and profits from wage theft so him donating doesn’t change that at all?
If i was a rich man and worked hard for the money i earn, do you think it's fair that i should be told by the governement that i have to share my earnings with people who don't work their success or as hard as me?

But you're cool with "fixing our homeless problem" by giving free housing to unvetted Afghanis and illegals coming up from Mexico, rather than our citizens living on the street, so that's all I need to know about your opinion.
All democracies end up with a dictator. It would be nice if we had capitalisms in the USA instead of fascism--the combining of government and corporations.
@goaded How long did the Pharaohs rule in Egypt? How long was the areas known as Korea ruled by kings? How long was China ruled by emperors? How long did kings rule in Spain, France, and England? How long has Turkey been a dictatorship?
@goaded Per National Geographic: "The first known democracy in the world was in Athens. Athenian democracy developed around the fifth-century B. C. E. The Greek idea of democracy was different from present-day democracy because, in Athens, all adult citizens were required to take an active part in the government. If they did not fulfill their duty they would be fined and sometimes marked with red paint. The Athenian definition of “citizens” was also different from modern-day citizens: only free men were considered citizens in Athens. Women, children, and slaves were not considered citizens and therefore could not vote."
Yeah, I thought of that after I posted it. Silly me! It's still a stretch to say "All democracies end up with a dictator", though. There are a lot of modern democracies, often wrested from dictators, and I hope they can keep would-be dictators at bay.
Democracy and capitalism aren't opposites. They can both function together perfectly. Democracy doesn't mean everyone ends up with the same amount of stuff.

It's none of my business that someone else is lazy so they ended up homeless. Don't use my taxes for bs like that.
Yeah ok wait until you get sick like my dad did working 80 hours a week and the having his heart restarted 3 times to bring him back. He now lives on welfare so he doesn't die.
The idea that you got from homeless people being lazy is laughable. Most homeless people aren’t able to get jobs in the first place because they’re homeless and employers discriminate if you don’t have an address to call home?
And please, it’s not going to be “your taxes” funding them, you’re not that rich.
Its ruled by corporate interest and banking interests.. money buys all and it is issued by the bank. Corporatocracy has been the way for so long. Globalism is evil.

Ever heard of Plato's cave allegory? I was making a reference to that lol

First of all, the USA is a Federal Republic. Not a Democracy.
Second of all, capitalism is based on "utility theory".
Utility theory basically states that the free market will best allocate scarce resources more effectively.
I literally never claimed the US wasn’t a republic, that was something you assumed. Democracy has always been a fundamental goal for the US, it’s a fundamental American value.
I’m saying that democracy should be put first before capitalism in order for the best preferred outcomes for the future
The consumer votes will his dollars.
@doopayo Just curious. Either your are using a smart phone, tablet or laptop to post on the forum.
Do you realize that whoever paid for the device you are using made some billionaire a little richer!!!
Now that irony is funny as fuck!!!
That’s inanely divisive. Considering the fact that so many billionaires have done their best to make the individual average person to think stuff like global warming, income inequality, etc.

I believe that we shouldn't choose either, and should make a system that balances both.
No system is perfect, and so there should be nothing wrong with switching when things get bad.

That's true, until the powerful put their thumbs on the scales. Like, by passing laws that enable them to overturn elections, for example.
@goaded Yeah, economically good, and flawed due to human and bias intervention.
Yeah, capitalism is great for things people don't need to have, but socialism is needed for things they do, like police, fire, water, etc.
@goaded Yup, if only we had a system that gave what was needed, and not what some random biased leader wanted.
Ever heard of Omnism? Or at least, Political Omnism?
I have now. Sounds a lot like humanism.
@goaded Yup, sounds like a wet dream for pure Humanism to be possible.
@goaded agreed.
Id say smaller government. Capitalism has shown its unsustainability. It’s time to back down, and care a bit about preserving the planet for future generations.

Serfs worked 20 hours a week now you work 60 casually, you've been swindled hard

There’s so much more to what you’re saying. The answer to end poverty in this country isn’t just a blanket sweep into democratic policies
Well, this country is one of the most right wing in its politics than the other developed countries. We rarely get any democratic bills passed in office
We get legislative lag in general. It’s one of the worst in the world. Government is cyclical, but during this season we have a blue sweep. The book is an audio book. Misspoke there.
The overwhelming majority of billionaires are LIBERALS as is most of Wall Street.
Pull your head out of your ass.
Can't talk logic to a Karen
@BillyBalls So true, and she is a baby Karen, imagine when she is grown up?

You probably won’t like to hear this, but the richest people in America fund the same right wing propaganda that republicans eat up like junk food so much.
Of the 50 richest families, 28 mainly donate to Republicans and only seven contribute mainly to Democrats.
I could list the names of billionaire CEO's such as Bill Gates who espouse and donate billions to leftists causes.
I assure you it will longer than 7 names.
If you actually read what I said you’d realize I’m specifically talking about the top 50 richest in the US
Also it’s not surprising tech billionaires are finding democrats considering the fact that a conservatives biggest fear is being attacked by kpop stans on Twitter 😂 - Fox News’s words not mine !

@doopayo That's 50 out of how many wealthy families in the U. S? 28 out of 50, so 22 of the wealthiest did fund stupid liberals.
If i was a rich man and worked hard for the money i earn, do you think it's fair that i should be told by the governement that i have to share my earnings with people who don't work their success or as hard as me?

All democracies end up with a dictator. It would be nice if we had capitalisms in the USA instead of fascism--the combining of government and corporations.
Every other system starts off with one.
@goaded Other than a few exceptions, that is true and most dictatorships survive much longer.
I don't think so, they usually last at most two generations.
@goaded How long did the Pharaohs rule in Egypt? How long was the areas known as Korea ruled by kings? How long was China ruled by emperors? How long did kings rule in Spain, France, and England? How long has Turkey been a dictatorship?
Fair points, but when was democracy invented?
@goaded Per National Geographic:

Capitalism doesn't exist, it is corporatism. Capitalism died when the first company got bailed out by the state
The US needs neither of these.
Reps and Dems are both two sides of the same coin
True!!!
Can you go into more detail about what you mean
In regards to what
What you mean by corporatism
Its ruled by corporate interest and banking interests.. money buys all and it is issued by the bank. Corporatocracy has been the way for so long. Globalism is evil.
Ooh ok, I agree to some extent
