Why is Usa less democratic than Europe?

Us claims to be the beacon of democracy but it falls behind northern and western Europe when it comes to democracy

-We elect our leaders; you elect your parties.

-Our government has an elaborate, dedicated system of checks and balances built in to it; you awkwardly stumble through.

-We have freedom of speech and the press enshrined in our founding legal documents as a necessity; only a handful of you have anything close.

-Consequently, we know the misdeeds of our government almost as soon as they happen; you languish in the darkness for decades.

-Ours was designed as a democracy from the ground up; you had to ADD democracy to your governments, or collapse them and rebuild; fully a third of your nations are still monarchies.

You're more democratic in WHAT way, now?

Personally , I think you are overstating Western Europe , there is little doubt economically and opportunity wise USA beats any part of Socialist Europe hands down , now the process may have been hijacked to a degree , and USA is certainly not without its issues , but man , what it does well , it does really well , that could not be achieved without the democratic right , free will , free markets.

Now , this clown at the moment , is in some form a creation of what happened previously , which went too far the other way , thats true democracy at work. Its not perfect , but its better than the alternative thats for sure .

Well part of it is that its a young country with a flawed origin which has remained ever since and tainted its discourse to this day where as countries in Europe are generally older and has gotten their shit together at some point. Secondly, power corrupts and USA is the world super power with both the power and the money to attract the greedy and people wanting to exploit said power towards the top.

Democracy is code for socialist democratic which is quite different from Republic. Democracy is mob rule whereas Republic I’d Bill of Rights, Law, and Constitution driven. No one has more freedoms in the world than USA and that plus love of money has led to its demise.

I'm from a constitutional republic myself with a multi party system - a small one but a republic none the less. We're known for perhaps the first and oldest parliamentary democracy. President is voted in by popular vote and there's no presidential term.

& What freedom is it you possess, other than the right to carry guns, do you have over the rest of the world?
