Should euthanasia be legal everywhere regardless of condition?

My post got removed the other day by some obviously religious "pro-life" people on here.

But I still want to know why is making euthanasia legal such a taboo subject for most of the countries out there?

Why is it immoral to force people to die, but not immoral to for regular depressed people to live and then die in horrific ways when they commit suicide

Why does no on feel that it is wrong to force people to live miserable lives?

Because suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem

How do you know what what's considered a temporary problem to another person?

Because a blood panel and a few other tests will prove if they’re in good physical health

What about mental health? Do you believe that those with a mental illness should be allowed to do euthanasia

No because mental health can be treated. That is a temporary problem

Why is it that other people get to define what is a temporary problem is to someone facing a mental illness, and not the person who has to deal with that pain.

Again mental illness is very treatable. You just have to seek it

What if it's not treatable? Like Bipolar disorder?

Or what if they don't have a mental illness but just want to leave

Bipolar is treatable. I know the biggest thing with bipolars is their refusal to take meds. EVERYONE of them say the exact same thing. “Meds make me feel like a zombie.” The reality is bipolars love the manic high. It’s like the greatest drug ever invented. They suffer the lows to experience the highs. What the meds actually do is they knock off the high peaks and fill in the low valleys so you’re more even. Psychiatrists want you feeling ALL normal human emotions. Bipolars emotions are extreme and they feel too much

If they’re in good health but still want out my question is why?

Because of the simple fact that they don’t want to be here

Since when do you get to decide what is a good enough reason for someone who wants to die?

Also what if the meds genuinely don’t help, and what if they don’t genuinely want the meds but want to leave?

They really do help. But bipolars will not take anything that takes away that manic high. Here’s the truth. Normal people don’t experience highs or lows like bipolars

I still don’t think that it’s a choice that Other people should decide for them though - That’s their choice to make because they have to live and deal with that constant stress or with feeling that they are a burden on their loved ones and others

If they want to leave it’s not our place to force them to stay

Here’s the good thing about bipolar that’s worth living for. They are as a whole very creative. Some of the most brilliant minds have been bipolar including Mozart, Ben Franklin

I just don’t understand why if someone wants to leave the planet and not be here why other people are so insistent and feeling that they have the right to force that person to stay here and keep going

A lot of people think it’s immoral to force someone to die but it’s not immoral to force someone to live a miserable and degrading life that they don’t want to live.

I find that other people are very insistent on wanting to change them even though some of them are set about their decisions.

It doesn’t have to be miserable and degrading. A couple of other famous bipolars was Mark Twain and Edgar Allen Poe. I’ll bet you can do something creative really well

Again this is my point if someone wants to go why do you other people keep feeling the need to insist on them staying Even though they’ve already made up their mind about leaving?

Why is it that everyone else but them gets to choose whether they get to die or not.

Because dying is permanent

And if that’s a permanent decision they want to make?

No. Life is worth living

Again that’s your opinion but you don’t necessarily have that right to force that opinion on someone else who doesn’t agree with you and wants to go. If someone doesn’t see a point to living this life you shouldn’t have the right to interfere with them leaving this place in a dignified manner.

In my opinion a lot of the reasons that people fear euthanasia is because they think of suicide when it happens - sucide through normal means is naturally unsettling because it doesn’t give the family or loved ones a chance to see their loved on off in a dignified way - they can’t have the choose to go in that dignified way because society goes out of their way to force them to live and take away less unsettling methods of euthanasia from them, So as a result they have to resort to messy methods like gun shots to the head jumping off a bridge or drowning in the lake.

But the thing is my reasoning is they told you that they didn’t want to be here and now you’re upset and concerned only now that they are gone in a way that you did not like - If you were allowed them to just have. That option of euthanasia then you both would’ve had more choice in the matter

Sucide is tramatizing for people to see, because it’s been done by people who have been pushed to the breaking point and have to die in less appealing undignified ways — that end up being used a fear tactic to scare people.

Honestly I feel like if you gave the choice of euthanasia then it wouldn’t have to be such a bad experience
