For the world has a whole, as of 2020, of the 7.8 billion people on the planet, 50.42% are male versus 49.58% female. That's 65 million more males than females.
Why is that?
My opinion is two-fold:
1. The largest country, China, with a population of about 1.4 billion (8% of the world's population) had for many years a one-child policy favoring boys over girls (often aborted).
2. In poorer countries (which is about half of the world's population) many women die in childbirth.
But the statistics in the United States are the opposite. As of 2019, out of a population of about 350 thousand, 51.1% are female while 48.9% are male, meaning 5 million more females.
I have no idea why there are more females in the US, other than to say it's always been that way, with males dying more often due to disease at a young age and more males than females losing their lives in dangerous jobs and wars.
I'm not sure who wrote it but few years ago I read that some economist somehow concluded that from a productivity perspective 103 men for every 100 is the perfect ratio. It was an interesting read. If there there are more men than that it causes too much of a competition and men get depressed and withdraw from society which isn't too productive in most cases. But too many women somehow also increase depression among men, I can't recall how and I couldn't find the writing eversince. So the gender ratio of most western countries with slightly more men is what indeed considered to be balanced.

Yes, there is. But it's not due to that. It's just due to genetic imbalance, with a little bit of low global birthrates right now, to add to it.
As of right now, in every Western, First World country, there's like 52% adult males to 48% adult females (although more females when you count minors under the age of 18). This means, even if all women were straight (sadly, few seem to be nowadays) and all women could find something desirable/marriage-worthy in men, and every woman sought to marry a man out there, there would still be a lot of men who would just die alone, no matter what they did. ... And we don't even live in a society full of perfect, heterosexual women.
At least Egypt and India has more women than men, and most Indian women are ladylike, classy, and dignified unlike the typical Western chick nowadays. You want to talk about blackpills, though... Yeah, that statistic is one hell of a blackpill.
The ratio is always in flux. There is no guarantee a child's gender. We have came up with ways to increase the chances of a child being one gender or the other. But these methods are still not granted. So the ratio is always changing. It might be more men then women but only for a sec before it flits to more women then men. Simply because people are being born around the world every sec of every day and that has always been a constant thing.

I don't think it's as simple as a ratio ether. This the kind of things that really needs to be taken on a individual bases. So in the end we might be come with some averages. But not a definite answer. Because it creates a situation where a variable will have several variables attached to it. You can send a guy on a date with five women. He gets turned down for a second date from all five and the reason for him not getting a second date with any of the could vary from woman to woman.
Actually it’s social media connecting more people then ever. The ratio is pretty balanced 49% male 51% female. But now women have accept to all men. A random girl from a small town can get flown out on a rich guys dime and treated like a queen then she comes back thinking all men should be able to do this. It’s unrealistic.
But things balance out eventually. Women will learn when men don’t care anymore. “Where have all the men gone” is trending. Did you hear about the woman in Philadelphia raped on a crowded train at 10am and not a single person helped or called 911. Some even recorded. I wonder how long it will take before women will stop trying to be men and will grow the fuck up.
I’m not an expert but I think the gender of the child is determined by the man’s genes. Like my friend told me in her husbands family, the offspring have been 100% male for at least 7 generations. In my moms family, my cousins always have two kids, one male and one female and in my dads family, the children all look like their mother or their grandmother but none look like their fathers. We are mixed, half female and half male among us 8 cousins and me. On my moms side, one side of the brain is larger than the other in basically everyone and on my dads side, there is a history of heart disease and liver disease and we are all ambitious and forceful.
That has absolutely nothing to do with it.
There are actually more WOMEN than men in this country (Canada) and yet I'm still without a mate.
It's just a number of factors: Are you attractive? Confident? Interesting? Are you focused more on studies or work than you are on finding someone? Are you someone like me who finds more purpose and meaning taking enjoyment out of friendships and pets than he does interpersonal relationships? There are so many things that can impact it all it's just as simple as broiling it down to "men now die less and women aren't as numerous".
Also important to note is that men actually DON'T die less now. Blood pressure, stress, stroke, heart disease and all kinds of other factors have still remained painfully relevant as ever to ensure that, nope, your odds of dying before your spouse as a man are still significantly more likely than the reverse even well into the 2020s.
I'm not entirely sure. Some men seem to be in relationships and still having affairs with other women. So just through experience it feels that way.
The statistics do show more and more men and women remain single for longer. They have concluded this being closely linked to financial status.
Apparently the less prospects a person feels they have the longer they wait to partner up.
But the problem as you see is, the longer you remain single the harder it gets to actually 'meet people'.
The current 'degression' in dating is due to low self worth.
That's why we get unsolicited images, it's about validation. People create situations to prevent getting hurt or financially burnt...
So basically, we need regular hunger games on a large scale? :-D
Yes it seems the number of of men will be slightly higher in the long run. There are other interesting characteristics, for example women have a more average intelligence, while men have slightly more hyperintelligent individuals and also more complete morons. Nature is playing it safe with women and experimenting more wildly with men.
Some historians suggest that any moment in history where for any reason (consider polygamy, incels) too many young men can't get laid, what follows is a burst of large scale conflict and internal crisis within empires, and then rivers of blood wash away that problem. Let's hope they are wrong...
All healthy populations of Any Given species have more females than males. You do not want it to be too large a difference, but you do want a higher percentage of females
That's where China fucked up by limiting the amount of female children families were allowed to have. There's aloooot of problems that come from having too many men and not enough women
We do have an imbalance in terms of the actual number, but we do not have an unhealthy imbalance, quite the opposite. Last I checked in America the population is about 51% females to 49% men in 2019
Abso-fkn-lutely. Everywhere I turn on any site has a huge abundance of guys , the groups are always 80% guys, the comments, the girls' inboxes and usually no more than a convention of dickpics.
It sucks being classed among them , I mean, I am as much a freak of intimate interests as anyone but also an artist to approach it as art with some level of class and respect. Usually in the end I'm seen as just a smoother talker. No doubt I can lay down some words, but I at least can and will back them as I am actually quite literal in the things I write and say that often get drowned out by the noise of the common piping of parrots as they all continuously squawk the same word over and over... beautiful, beautiful, beautiful...

That's not quite the way it works. Or worked, rather. The big tradeoff didn't come with modernity, but with sedentary civilization that sent death rates for young men plummeting- and saw the beginning of widespread monogamy. Even the mightiest Presidents don't have hundreds of wives, or even concubines; that's the province of kings and warlords- and not even MODERN kings.
Even back then, though, it's not like women had it all that great in terms of lifespan, either- death in childbirth was a very real risk up until quite recently.

Which means even if every male was paired up to a female, at least 3.5 million women would be stuck single.
Yes , too many males is not good for anyone of either gender. Women being harassed by " thirsty " excess males , and the those same males likely sexually very frustrated , which affects men almost exclusively , as men are typically cursed with much higher libidos than women. There are now around 600 million more human males than females , birth ratio is always male heavy , combined with the disgusting practice of female infanticide from the the Middle East , through to China , which are also the most populated regions on the planet too. Also , add to that , most Western single women , are single & man free by choice , making the " dating market " an ultra male heavy sausage fest.
There are more women than men. One reason we see so many single men now is the increasing abandonment of monogamy. Statistics show women on hook-up sites tend to accept only the top-tier men, who then play the field without offering commitment. As a result, the number of sexually inactive men in their 20s has increased radically during the past decade.

You ever think maybe thats why they sent us off to die in droves in pointless conflicts? Sometimes you just ask if our lives really matter or we're lied to about it to keep us good little worker drones wallowing in loneliness, convincing ourselves there's some point to it all.
Depends on the age cohort. Under age 39 or so (in the US), there is a male surplus (it's highest at birth). After that, as people get older, women increasingly outnumber men.
But there is definitely a shortage of young, fertile women, especially if you exclude single moms.
It's only in China, India and the middle East men outnumber women, and that's only because of their welfare policy, or lack thereof.
Women and girls outnumber men and boys, not only because far more men and boys die than women and girls, but also because women biologically give birth to very slightly more girls, possibly because a woman is more likely to miscarry a boy than a girl.
The reason why it appears from your perspective men outnumber women in regards to dating, is simply because women biologically have higher standards, and because of that a percentage of them are willing to share the desirable men via polyamory and such.
Men still die more early than women or scientifically speaking they love for less person years. You could say that it's lifestyle choices and habitual differences and that is certainly not wrong. But it's not the entire story. Because even if you control for all the variables that predict mortality and life expectancy, then still, men live for less person years overall. This trend is even visible in stillbirth rates and in infant mortality. So this difference exists even where lifestyle can't even logically make a difference yet.
Women don't consider Men and Boys to be human beings, which is why they routinely fight against Mens Human Rights, they fear that by allowed Men and Boys to be human too they will be losing privilege (they will).
Women feel that Men and Boys are less than human, Feminism has accurately catered to this view by calling Men and Boys subhuman "Oppressors". All women believe this even if they won't admit it.
The best thing that can happen to a society is true equality, if a man can't watch a woman die and choose to do nothing then he isn't free. Artificial wombs and sex robots will reduce women's value to zero thus freeing men to be full human beings, women will probably fight this because they are drowning in privilege.
If thats the case, there wouldn't be any society and we won't live life like we do now. The reason why men have to be disposed is because we're not the special gender who gives birth. A ratio of more men than women vs vice versa would doom the population because a single guy can impregnate multple women at a time while women can only give birth only a few times in her life thats why women are safe guarded and men are used as tools also because men dont "suffer" biologicaly like you do unless they stop working getting a t-drop while women just don't which is also the biological trade off.
