They were appointed because of their anti labor and pro business stances. But it turns out most people who vote Republican wouldn't go for that if thats all they were told, so what they were told instead about the appointments was their anti abortion stances. It's rare a Republican gets a chance to do a destructive thing they promised to do and I expect that they will.
Also, newsmax is fake news. They don't even pretend to have credibility. They function entirely as a campaign arm for the Republican party but by pretending to be journalists they get to lie whenever they want and no one can sue them for libel because they will claim they never intended to report facts thus they have the creative freedom to say whatever they want..
I hope that this is an omen for portends a change in the law about abortion.
Some of the more astute comments refer to the effect of overruling Roe v. Wade. That is alarming only if you have already decided for yourself that Roe v. Wade was correctly decided. And those who have decide that Roe v. Wade is correct have done so - primarily - for emotional reasons.
As a matter of logic, the Constitution does not explicitly address abortion and you can "interpret" it as you wish. The real question is: which position helps out culture to survive and to thrive? And if the anti-abortion position is the best position for our culture's survival, then we cannot become too ensconced in the sentiment that "we can't overrule Roe v. Wade." It has been done before.
Read some commentary about the Supreme Court's decision in Erie Railroad Company v. Tompkins, 304 U. S. 64 (1938) and you'll understand why the Court is obligated to overturn prior decisions when they decide that the prior decision was wrong. And an equally monumental decision, Brown v Board of Education, 347 U. S. 483 (1954) ended segregation is US public schools, overruling the Court's prior decision in Plessy v. Ferguson, 163 U. S. 537 (1896).
My thoughts are that ,,,, I wanna see some more pictures of your brown ass wet , bald in the pool.
Haha
Something is very wrong with Texas
@rcljr It doesn't make the laws good. This law is quite evil. It does nothing to stop abortions it just makes them illegal, which means they are done by non-medical professionals, and more women will die. It's just stupid.
That’s the extent of what laws do, make things legal or illegal, it up to a person or persons to obey or disobey said laws. If you disobey you may not get caught, if you do get caught prepare to face the judge and jury. I personally think it’s a great start, abortion is murder and democrats want to murder babies up to and including as they are being born. Yet they whine and snivel about people having guns…. I wish everyone that is pro abortion had been aborted themselves.
@rcljr ok so I think I understand, you are against abortion because it may lead to someone dying, and you are also against guns because it may lead to someone dying? Got it. That makes sense. If you were anti-abortion and pro-gun then that would be hypocritical and stupid right?
@rcljr lol, nice dodge. I figured I would stump you with that one. Logic isn't your strong suit is it?

Our nation is a dying society running on the fumes of the 70’s and 80’s, when the dollar had the most power, and corporate tax rates were way higher. The tax rates have been lowered over time, and in that period, the prosperity produced by the people has been siphoned to the top 1%.
The fuck are you babbling about?
You really don’t know your history do you… gas lines, stagflation, huge job losses in manufacturing etc. the last time the IS was doing great was under Trump. Remember all the jobs and increasing financing for most everyone? Yeah, not that long ago and it can happen again. Biden has spent trillions in months which led to the erosion of the dollar and he and then far Left will do much more with no results.
Victory for mothers who'd otherwise risk death in a chop shop, being dragged there by POS family members trying to bury a scandal. A victory for innocent human beings who'd otherwise be sacrificed on Moloch's altar. A much-deserved punch in the teeth to the spirit drinkers and adrenochrome harvesters.
My understanding was that it's basically down to a procedural technicality, which means they can't (or at least have an excuse not to) do anything until someone is actually charged under the new law - only then can it be challenged, and after many months of legal wrangling, passed back the supreme court again, at which point they'll be obliged to rule that it is unconstitutional and must be abolished.
It's simply a matter of legal procedures. It's in lower courts and has to go to the SCOTUS through the appeals process like all other cases. It's an absurd waste of their time to even consider a case like that.
This is very good news. I hope and pray that this is the beginning of the end of this terrible and horrifying stain on our nation's honor and moral fabric.
I don't see the back and forth stopping anytime soon. Also what is happening in Texas could simply be the tip of a very large iceberg. So I'll just continue to keep an eye on everything and see how it all plays out.
The Supreme Court didn't deny it... they delayed judgment on it and refused to issue an immediate hold.
Fully understandable, considering that the majority of Supreme Court justices are conservative.
Right because god forbid the crazy purple-haired shrieking bats will ever try to go for a compromise on abortion laws. If they can't slice em up until the moment of birth, they don't want it.
@SlightlyEccentric , absolutely correct ! Having said that I wish pelosi had been aborted, or dropped in a well, fed to the hogs.
The same people that don’t want the government interfering in their lives support the government literally interfering in peoples lives, make it make sense
Troll boy alert!!!
Racist boy alert
Oh no!!!
You called me a boy!
Yeah because that’s what you act like
Good.
Supreme court has it's purpose clearly laid out.
Doing the president's bidding is not one.
There are federal judges and appellate courts.
State vs. Federal law.
It is a state law and the federal government has no oversight. To the ignorant here. We have a federal government not a national government. Democrats are fouling it, but it will be back, maybe at gunpoint.
I dislike the law itself but I also respect the state’s rights to decide their own laws and am happy that was respected in this decision.
It SHOULD be the right of the woman or couple involved to choose if they want to abort! End of story and tell Joe to go fuck himself!!!
Hillbillies allowing hill billy things.
It will take more than Biden to civilise Texas,
Since Bush v Gore destroyed all of the court’s legitimacy, SCOTUS might as well
Be considered a terrorist organization

Lives saved.
Sounds like similar reasoning for them declining to intervene in the 2020 election challenges.
According to the Constitution that is to be left to the individual states to decide.
Only low life trash care if a woman gets an abortion. Sane people care about the real issues such as climate change, economy, Healthcare, etc
They did agree to have a hearing on it during sumpreme court next session. They didn't block it until then is what just happened
I think it's good not just necessarily cuz I'm Pro or I can stop portion just that I think States should have more power to make their own decisions
I disagree with Texas' idea on how to deal with abortion but I agree with the SCOTUS's decision because of the 10th amendment.
It doesn't surprise me. There's a Conservative Majority.
Expected. Republicans were purposely placed.
So, you’re more for pro-choice?
I purposely answer political questions neutrally.
I saw you like another user’s post, which made me assume that you’re more of a pro-choice supporter.
I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just asking.
I say “ LET’S GO BRANDON!”.
I think it’s awesome.
Hooray for the SCOTUS
Go justice Amy! The kryptonite to RBG!
That never happened Einstein.
Them denying it is a preview.
biden is an idiot
Disturbing
How so?
It undermines Roe v Wade
Does it really?
It shows at least a potential shift in the justices’ thinking
Ah, got you.
You personally disagree this?
I want abortion law to stay the way it is. I don’t like the Texas law.
I understand.
You say that like it’s a bad thing?
@MattSherman it's not. You want some cake?
