What do you think of the Justice system in the US?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_TiXLqW0TXU
As long as the justice system is a profitable business, it will never change. Many members of law enforcement I do believe have good intentions but get drowned out by the power hungry, money hungry greed that rules our justice system. Lawyers cost beyond the average person's pay grade. It's easier to take plea deals then risk facing the higher penalties in a full trial, whether innocent or not. In some cases, the crime someone ia accused of is no longer innocent until provwn guilty. It is more you're guilty until you can prove you're innocent and it's just our word against your's. Large corporations pay prison systems millions for prison labor, yet these prisonera certainly are not being paid minimum wage... if anything at all, it is a dollar or 2... and that is if they are lucky. Plea deals will always be made to look good for the accused so that money continues to be pumped into slave labor from prisons... even if it means puahing innocent people into it.
Yup profit above all else this is what our society has sunken to sadly...
Like politics, we should get money out of the equation.
Perfectly well said!!
Well you could make the prosecutor and defenders for all civil and criminal cases civil servants and get paid the same regardless of the outcome of the case. And remove fines all together so the state and police forces does not get money from giving out tickets or if they have to charge a fine make it so the money goes to a 3rd party that will use the money to to benefit society for example give free transportation to drunk people and help discourage drunk driving.
Hmmm i have never heard of debtors prisons before looks interesting i will have to read up more on that
They cry about guns but plea bargain down any crimes dealing with felons being caught with a gun. They don't enforce the laws they have yet want more. They are nincompoops. Also people who have committed murder they let out on a relatively low bond. Some of these just turn around and kill someone else. This happens in prison a lot where a lifer kills some other prisoner or a guard. What are they going to do, give him life? The whole system is a joke. If you are rich you get a nice comfy cell away from the rift raft - think of the people like Lori Laughlin who got hardly any time in jail while some poor schmuck gets a couple of years for peeing in an alley.
What an incoherent ramble.
@ChefPapiChulo Sorry you couldn't follow what I though about our justice system. How about it sucks? Can you get that?
I’m sorry your brain is mush
@ChefPapiChulo Many people block you? You seem to be asking for it.
The whole justice system needs to be redone and reworked. But in the mean time if they just took out the plea bargain and bail crap out of it it would be a lot better
@ChefPapiChulo Refresh my memory.
it was a question with you claiming to be some chick in panties and someone called you out. you're weird pal.
Crooked as the day is long.

It is broken, look at what is happening in San Francisco, won't even charge or hold real obvious criminals.
It is broken in so many ways, around here... the phone call your allowed from jail. It is a COLLECT call... good luck calling anyone collect, most cell phones or internet Voip phones won't work with collect, only old fashion home phone lines work with that.
How's that for exercising your right to call someone?
It is a business, many prosecuting attorney's don't care if someone is innocent or guilty, their entire job is to win.
On the flip side, many defense attorney's think the same way.
It is rare but possible to find defense attorney's that won't take a case if they believe you actually did it and it is also rare to find a prosecutors who won't charge you if they think you didn't do it.
The system tends to care more, the more serious the charge is about rights, the lower they are the less they care about rights. You can't even get a public defender for most low end stuff, if you do get one they stink. They basically say dress nice, look sorry and see about getting the lowest sentence possible.
I've also seen cases where the court financially threatens the defendant when they ask for a jury trial, rather than a bench trial. Telling them they have to pay X amount of dollars for that if they want it. Trying to discourage people from doing jury trials for minor stuff. A innocent person should not go bankrupt to defend themselves, or if you have no money you should still get a good high quality public defender not some over loaded person barely has 5 seconds for you.
A couple of idea's to fix it though could be no deals allowed, let the evidence show it and get more jury trials. Like the constitution says, trial by jury without making the defendant pay extra for it.
If someone does hire an attorney and gets not-guilty the system should reimburse them for their legal fees (currently seems to only happen in civil matters not criminal.) They should also reimburse them for missed work.
The real problem though is soon as someone gets arrested many people think they did it and must prove their innocence's.
The last fix off the top of my head is to say, all suspects have their identity concealed or not announced until they get CONVICTED. Best way to get a fair trial, must like how victims have their name not released. Stop releasing names of people who just got arrested, wait until they get convicted.
Very good points and ideas i like it a lot!
It's corrupt as hell. Starting with the cops who are legally allowed to lie while doing their so called job. Then the DA who lets cops skate and slide by default. Then the jails which shake down taxpayers for billions of dollars. Where corrupt jailers often get away with torturing and killing. To the death penalty which, as we saw recently, is often purposely fked up to cause as much terror and pain as humanly possible. To the 13th amendment exception clause with legalizes slavery if a person has been convicted of a crime. Read it. Slavery is literally legal in the constitution even today.
Thats an amazing video you linked i saw it before and it was very eye opening
Yea the US Justice system is anything BUT REFORM lmfao they really shouldn't call it correctional facilities and just be honest and can it slave camps or concentration camps
I think law enforcement officials are the biggest criminals out there. Personally speaking from my own experience with my own dad, he's now a retired police officer. He physically assaulted me growing up, and thanks to the police man Bro-code/ brotherhood... if police came over, he would just say I was being dramatic and fucking up the house myself or strangling myself, etc.. they would leave regardless of evidence. Then last year, a judge sided with him against me, for my son's guardianship Regardless of the perjury he committed, and false allegations or slander I proved wrong. He's one of those cops that murdered one or two people, was sent home on paid leave then just came back to work as if nothing happened
Wow holy shit i am so sorry and i dont doubt it for a second police have essentially become an organized mob that were allowed to have a union that are used to heard the sheep to the slaughter and guard their owners.
organized mob that does what a corrupt government tells them to
Oh, I hate it, but for the polar opposite reason.
Many criminals are obviously guilty, there's irrefutable evidence that they're guilty, they admit to being guilty, and all they get are slap after slap on the wrist. Some people get released for pretty much no justifiable reason after committing heinous crimes like rape, murder, etc.
And now it's being used as a political weapon too. Burnt down a couple buildings in a BLM riot? Oh well, the DA will not press charges, you're free to go. Some wahoos stormed the capital? The FBI will hunt you down and arrest you just for being a lookalike of one of these clowns.
Meanwhile people are being thrown in for insignificant offenses such as having weed on them... Ig it would depend on the state you live in too
I would also argue that the fbi is also known for turning peaceful protests into violent riots
Its just an example of an insignificant crime people get arrested for and serve jail time you can use any example you like
It's not the best in my opinion. But I think it's this way because of our culture. For example things such as an open or luxury prison system, or no life sentences would never work in the States.
But I DO agree there are certain crimes they should be more lenient on.
What do you mean by an open or luxury prison system?
In India, after they serve a few years and aren't deemed a threat, even if they killed someone, they can get a job, even teaching children, and they can wonder around within a 2 mile radius of the prison, as long as they come back every evening. And they don't even do more than 10 years.
Luxury prison, in Norway it looks like a regular bedroom with a bed, bathroom, TV and even sometimes a window and computer.
There was a Norwegian singer who murdered his bandmate. They gave him a maximum sentence of 25 years, and during his prison sentence, he continued to record albums from prison, and get record deals and make money from them.
Oh wow didn't know that about India but yea i believe we should look to countries like India and Norway because they seem to be on the right track. The US justice and prison system DOES NOT REFORM AT ALL! It actually does the opposite and educates criminals on how to be better criminals and repeat offenders
That's what I was saying though. Those kinds of prison systems would NEVER work in the States because of our culture.
You really think letting a murderer or rapist work and wonder within 2 miles of the prison would work in the States?
Well we have to start somewhere lol there needs to be some changes in our society and how we look at our fellow humans beings neighbors
Too many communist that rail road people just as they are doing to doctor that have been told not to writ e exemption for COVID 19 or their license would be pulled not a well known fact but of the millions of people who filed how many have you heard of being granted even for children. My grand daughter from birth had brain cancer 2xs. High dose medicine Mono Cloanal antibodies experimental perserved in a radio active suspension 3F8 Experimental plus a genetic problem plus she is an Epiletic Gran moll. I do not know what will happen with an untested so called vaccine that causes heart problems in children The courts just run over our constitution to cover the lies that our leaders push as the truth Im peach liar Dictator Bide and Giggles Harris
Like any justice system, the US justice system is imperfect, but overall, it's pretty good.
Yes, some innocent people get wrongly convicted, and some guilty people are declared not guilty at their trial. Overall, the justice system gets things mostly right, and there are procedures in place (appeals, for example) to try to correct things when a mistake is made.
In the US, a person is innocent until proven guilty, and has the right to a fair trial by their peers. Not all countries give the accused those rights.
Thats what this whole question is about. The way its setup innocent people are coerced into pleading guilty without a trial so they don't get their day in court and are not innocent until proven guilty.
It needs to be reworked from the ground up including how prisons and jail are structured
I agree! Who ever thought privatization of the prison system to turn a profit was a good idea is a complete moron! Lmfao 😂
At least rich people can buy their way out of most crimes
What the hell? Where in the hell was race ever mentioned in this question? Lmfao 😂
It sucks, but is more fair than most other justice systems in the world. The biggest problems in the justice system are how the courts work and the attorneys. Police arrest people, but that arrest does not carry much weight compared to what the courts can decide. All an arrest means is there is probable cause to suspect you committed a crime, it is not saying you are guilty. However, the way attorneys makes their money (especially defense attorneys) prevents them from truly acting in the best interests of the client (defendant).
The US imprisons more people than any other country in the world including China!! How is that even remotely fair to you? Lmfao 😂
@vald9inches At least we give the defense a chance to speak. There are MANY countries where the ACCUSATION of wrongdoing is enough for a life sentence without a trial even being offered. I've deployed to such countries. US citizens do not know how spoiled they are.
@libsaretards thats exactly what this question is about a majority of innocent people get coerced into pleading guilty of a lesser crime by prosecutors and justice system in general by taking a plea bargain. So a majority of US citizens DO NOT get their day in court or have a chance to defend themselves from Accusations
@vald9inches What I meant is in other countries the defendant often does not even get the chance to take a plea.
You said at least the defense gets a chance to speak but in fact they dont they bargain the penalty and crime whether they are innocent or not
No trial at all
It is rigged so the t the rich and connected always skate. Look at the Biden crime family. They are a prime example of people who peddle influence and take bribes and betrayed their country.
Lot of people take a plea bargain because they can't afford a good attorney and don't want to risk a public defender.
If you can't afford a decent lawyer don't commit crime.
Do you realize with the amount of laws that exist in the US it would be impossible not to commit a crime? They have us walking on fucking eggshells! Lmfao 😂
It was designed that way intentionally by the way
Funny how the freest countries always have the most laws
You’re showing your ignorance! God forbid you find out how the world truly works..
It sucks so bad that when it actually follows the law by the books it's a pleasant surprise.
Just too much corruption and money involved
simpler times...
What is that a picture of? Lol
As flawed as the system is it still is the best system. Innocent until proven guilty is the concept but that is changing. Many other systems are opposite, you are guilty and need to prove your innocence.
So if that is the case then why does the US imprison more people than any other country in the world even more than China? Lmfao 😂
Yea thats pretty much impossible in the US there are soooooo many laws it would be impossible to break a law and many do without knowing so its not about being good lmfao 😂
I mean it's not perfect. I'm not a fan of any system where judges are appointed by the government of the day.
Also it's too slow and expensive to benefit anyone... besides lawyers and rich assholes.
Its faaaaaar from perfect lol i wouldn't even consider the word perfect more like very corrupt! Lol 😂
It's a system that caters to the rich and demonizes the poor
its a mostly reasonable system. it gets politicized sometimes. we need better protection for the accused in situations where the trial gets national attention like mandatory jury sequestering.
Yes everyone walking on eggshells is very reasonable... 🤦
no idea what you are referring to
I am saying there are so many laws in the US that it would be impossible not to break any and every penalty even for small crimes are very severe to a point innocent people are too scared to go to court and have a trial so they accept a plea bargain for a lower crime
Thats what i am referring too
yes there are that many laws. but even teh people enforcing them don't know about most of them so it evens out
I highly doubt that but the difference would be a quick phone call and an officer can get in touch with someone in their department that does know and if they want to they can throw the books at you lol meaning they can easily find any number of laws you happen to break to pin on you in court
ok now you're just using satisficion; the idea of not knowing an answer but guessing and then assuming that's how it works because it sounds plausible.
do you even live in america?
I have seen it with my own eyes in America! Yes i live in America fool 😑😑😑
But you saying its plausible means you know its very likely its true but your ego doesn't want to admit that its true
saying plausible is in reference to our # of laws. not that they are actually used
The US Justice system provides the best justice money can buy. No money? No Justice!
its been perverted by liberals and is too easy on blacks now in the name of wokeness even though they claim otherwise. The biggest victim of this is blacks
