A man has been released from prison after serving 43 years for a crime he did not commit. Your thoughts?

Kevin Strickland served 43 years incarcerated for a crime he has been exonerated from. But Missouri law does not allow compensation unless he was exonerated by DNA evidence. The judge ordered him released because there was NO physical evidence linking him to the crime. That ruling was supported by the prosecutor. One of the admitted killers had admitted that Strickland was not at the scene when the victims were killed.
Since he was not there, there could be no DNA evidence. Yet he was incarcerated for 43 years. He could not work so without a work history no Social Security. And he is weak enough that he cannot work now.
A GoFundMe has been established and so far 1.4 million dollars has been raised. That is not likely to last a man with no income with a lot of medical problems and not entitled to Social Security.
So why are donations having to support an innocent man that the state of Missouri ruined?
Missouri sucks for not compensating a man that has been proven innocent after serving 43 years.
Nothing wrong with that. I would not mind serving all that time for a crime I did not commit.
Missouri sucks for a lot of things.
