Ok, this is a VERY sensitive topic and I do want to share my honest and humble opinion. First of all I'm white and I lived both in slumber and horrific conditions and I was blessed enough to be able to move significantly up and let's just call it for what it really is, a Rich, Safe, occupied mostly by whites Neighborhood. Now here comes the honest and full of truth part. Ones you reach a certain wealth statues, regardless if you are white or black or anything in between. Race issue disappears, DRAMATICALLY. And the higher you climb to the top of a food chain, the more invisible and none existent it becomes. Why? Because, I know for a FACT, if a person of any color lives in that type of neighborhood, he/she worked her Butt of to be there in the first place. You cannot live in those type of neighborhoods, unless you are a Very Smart + Very Hardworking person, PERIOD. There are no short cuts, there is no easy way to get to this level of living. So, when I see any type of nationality or race in this neighborhood, I have nothing but a HUGE Ass respect and Pride of them living in our neighborhood, because They Have Made It!! through a lot of sacrifices, a lot of hard work, a lot of shit taking from other people. Everything that you have experienced to get where you are now (upscale neighborhood), most people in that neighborhood experienced that too. They know what it took you to get there. And if you climb even higher, like much, Much higher, you become a Family and in a family no color or nationality exists anymore.

Not at all. As long as they're nice, civil people. And the same goes for ANYONE of ANY other colour!! If you're green with purple polka dots and you glow in the dark and have 3 heads, 5 dicks, 7 tits and 2 pussies, why would it matter, as long as you're a nice person and aren't intent on hurting anyone else? I've had several black people in my band over the decades! In fact, the guy that started the band and was in it the entire time was black. I don't see how the shade of someone's skin colour could make ANY difference other than to themselves!

I'll be honest with you...
I had a negative opinion of black people based on how they behave in city centre (I didn't have contact with them otherwise). Loud, obnoxious and borderline aggressive. So I was a bit apprehensive about moving into an area that had a lot of blacks in it.
But these blacks completely changed my mind, they were literary the kindest, most chilled people I've ever lived around. And that includes teenagers and we know how teens of any race can be. In fact their kids were angels compared to the locals that my friends had to deal with in other parts of town. It's just the ones in city centre that are crazy but not only blacks, somehow in my town that's where you'll see the worst kinds of people.
Though I have to add that I live in Ireland so there's no racial tensions and black people are here for a short time. So unlike in America, there are no street gangs etc. Probably if I were moving into a black area in America, I'd be a bit worried for my safety. Is it generalising? Yes, it is. But I will absolutely generalise when it comes to my safety and I encourage everyone, especially women to do the same.
Also, being white I'd naturally prefer to be in a majority white area... and I'd understand that people of other races feel the same. We want to be surrounded by people who are most like us, not by strangers. And it's not really a skin colour problem, but culture.

Neighborhood in my state are a mixed bag, always have been. We had a Haitian family who lived across the street ten some odd years ago. Aside from friendly waves, holiday greetings and smiles they kept to themselves.
My elderly mother still had her faculties about her at the time and had gone out to water plants, it was after dark. She tripped on the hose and hit her head on the curb. She would have bled out. The only family that heard her cries was this family. They had already called the medics and was holding pressure on my mothers gushing, bloody head wound before getting to our door. I don’t give a sh-t where someone comes from. Good people are good people in my book.

The color doesn't matter. I have some black families on my street.
The type of people they are is what matters.
I like them. They are middle class with kids... both work, nice family.
I wouldn't like black neighbors who were from the hood and had rap music blaring 24 hours a day, had groups of 20 year old guys hanging out in the yard smoking all day, screaming and yelling at kids... I wouldn't want a WHITE family to move in that had cars in the front yard on blocks and kept junk in their yard and cooked meth and kept 5 dogs with no leases that roamed the neighborhood. It just matters if they are good neighbors or not.
I live in a diverse neighborhood (compared to the rest of my upper Midwest city). I've had no issues with any people of color, but my car was broken into and a checkbook stolen by a white male, and a white male attempted to break into my house just a few weeks ago.

You know in my neighborhood it's mostly Latinos and whites. There aren't a lot of black people in my neighborhood. I think out of the 15 years I live here there has been two black families in the area. I've been friends with them. So no i don't have a problem with it. I am mexicans by the way. But, why do you think there aren't a lot black people in certain areas?
Most likely, if a neighborhood is already mostly white or other races, blacks people are hesitant to move there because of thinking they might feel out of place or experience racism.
That does makes sense. I live in northern California, I have visited some cities nearby. I stopped by some places where there were abandoned buildings and there are still signs of segregation on these buildings. There is history of racial conflict between Hispanics, blacks and Hindu and middle eastern people in the town I live. Sometimes I am hesitant to visit some neighborhoods because their still is tension. Although this tension stems from the 80's
But i was fortunate enough to have the experience in school. As I met a diverse group of people. I was able to make friends with people of all races. Especially in college.

I don't really care what color you are as long as you're happy and you can smile then I'm happy I just have the new neighbors that moved in and she's older so she's quiet and she can smile a bit that's all that counts to me I just want a happy neighbor

Have several black families in our neighborhood and can't say I've noticed a difference between them and any others. So if I even noticed another person or family in the neighborhood, it wouldn't bother me in the least.
Around here, the loud and obnoxious are the bigger problem. Rentals with college students, partying late, not taking care of the yards. It makes things hard when the neighborhood is mostly families with school kids to get up in the morning, or to go to work early.
Not really. I live in France, and except for the illegals, most black people here are well integrated and nice. Wouldn't mind at all.
In the US I'd be more wary, mostly because I wouldn't want that neighbor trying to change and boss everything and everyone and cry racism every 2 minutes.

In history that has shown to happen but I don't believe appraisers use race of owner anymore... but if you look back 50 years ago, it did happen unfortunately.

I grew up in a suburban white supremacist soft nazi enclave. (Didn't know it at the time). Later, a bunch of professional black people moved in. And guess what? The real estate prices went UP. Home is now worth 7 times more than what we paid for it. Go figure you racist twat nockers.
