He had a facecloth over the kids nose and mouth because she didn't want to wear a mask so the guy got kicked off the plane. I haven't been on a plane in many years. After 9/11 there are too many regulations between the long lines, cavity searches and now masks and proof of vaccination. I would rather drive or take the train.

They are a private company which gives them a large amount of freedom to refuse to give service on arbitrary grounds. Being against the companys right to kick him off the plane would be to limit the freedoms and rights of corporations.

Despite being ostensibly independent companies, airlines and public airports are pretty much entirely at the mercy of the federal government's whims, and can be severely punished for not doing as they are told. @joeldalton no it's just an added precaution. There's been cases that have obviously been passed on within flight. Filtration takes 2-5 min which is good but still plenty of time to infect those around you.

Two examples being a flight from London to Hanoi in March last year, after which 16 passengers and crew tested positive 11 of the 15 passengers were sitting within 2 seats of the person who boarded unknowingly having covid. Masks we're not mandatory back then.

Also a flight to Ireland last summer where 13 passengers on a 17% full flight tested positive most could have been from stop overs but in 4 of the cases the only possiblity would have been on board transmission.

The onboard filtration system does help majorly but masks add that extra layer of protection.
