One of my main values is respect! I always wore a mask when mandatory during the whole period of high virus intensity, if I'm sick I wear a mask. I'm part Swedish, part French; I have been in both countries during the pandemic and I have seen the two completely separate realities. In France: total lockdowns with hefty fines given to anybody who would be outside to walk their dog and hadn't filled out a form, mandatory masks everywhere (including where one was alone out on the streets) and more... the result is that we are now 2 years later and probably on our way to new restricting mandates like mask and vaccines.
In Sweden: not ONE single lockdown, masks were NEVER mandatory, now 2 years later – not ONE new restriction.
Status quo: Sweden today has far more positive statistics on infection curves...

Now that the mask mandate in France is over since March 14, I have not worn the mask anywhere where it wasn't mandatory; I have only worn it when sick.

Riding an airplane, taking the train, public transportations stay however among the activities where we need to remain masked, and I don't know for how much longer. One thing is sure, science tells us the virus is no longer the threat it has been in the beginning and that masks are not as effective as we were told.
If I can protect others and myself by wearing a mask, everything's fine... if the reality shows in contrast that it's not the case and that we still are being forced to wear it, then it's a muzzle!

On flights I suppose I would... Besides before covid flights have always know to increase the chances of catching something so whatever it maybe a good practice to continue. If im going on vacay I dont want to arrive with a cold or anything else brewing. Perhaps any public transportation that isn't an open vehicle sure ill keep the mask on.
Now if im out doors different in public beach walking down the street I'll go maskless.
I long to toss the masks away but why my partner remains sick in and out the hospital Im being more careful. I can't even afford to catch a common cold.

I might carry one and put it on just to shut up some heathen on board, but I wouldn't put it on for starters.

Actually, considering that people are stuck in an aluminum tube about 5 to 8 miles in the air, the atmosphere in a modern jet is surprisingly clean! The engines, in addition to providing thrust for the plane, also provide forced air to maintain the pressure in the AC system. That system- in turn- blends about half of existing cabin air which is scrubbed with half outside air and injects it back into the air system of the cabin. Studies have shown that people flying in jets today are at no more risk than those on the ground in everyday life.

Not unless they forced me to. Masks are useless in protecting against viruses.
I flew on planes many, many times bc (before covid) and nobody ever wore masks to protect themselves against the myriad of other germs that were circulating inside those closed atmospheres.
It cracks me up that people have been convinced that covid is the deadliest thing in history.

To be honest, I kind of like the mask now. Mask introduced us to a new segment of fashion among the same old fashion styles.

And more importantly, as I guy, I can say that, girls look a lot more beautiful in masks than without the masks.

So... I would not take the mask off. Plus, the others cannot say anything about what I am thinking and all.

I have really blank eyes, and when mask is on, the other person really cannot tell what I am thinking.

I will probably wear masks in public places a LOT going forward. As I had stated in a prior answer, it seemed odd seeing the random person wearing a mask pre-COVID, and now, honestly, my opinion has flipped.

I stopped wearing masks a long time ago since the requirements been lifted here in the UK last summer. I do respect the law so when travelling I wear my mask. But if no law mandates for it, I’d rather not wear a mask.

Nah, I'm tired of them on planes. Planes use engine bleed air through HEPA filters so it's safer than a restaurant any day. You get new outside air in the cabin so often.

I heard about this on the news. It doesn't surprise me since some countries are ending their mask restrictions.
Masks are still mandatory on planes where I live and I would still wear one if I was on a plane.
