I'm all about police reform because I believe power needs to be put in check, and I believe the only laws that are actually real are the ones the police themselves obey.
So I was all about them when it was peaceful protests in favor of police reform.
But when they started singling out and targeting officers, and when "ACAB" became super common, I started losing interest. Like, if you are punching someone because they say you are violent, you're not really making your case.
Most of the police reforms I would want would also revolve around the idea that they are human. You don't train someone in riot control, have them see action daily, and then send them to de-escalate a tense situation. These need to be separate specialists, and "defunding the police" isn't exactly going to get you that. It's more about shifting funds away from military gear and more towards more specialists.
So like, I can certainly relate to their anger and frustration, and argue many of their points. But I can't align myself with the movement as a whole.
They are not revolutionary. Although they are correct that Black Lives do in fact matter. Which is completely opposite to the dumb fk hick redneck BS artist hoochie hillbilly morons I grew up with. So I tolerate them even if their founding leadership went corrupt. I know plenty of honest black people who support them, and I respect my friends, so I support it too where they are involved. Much like many other leftist organizations, they rely on thing that they claim don't actually exist. BLM in particular rely on the fact that the vast majority of people in western countries aren't racists but they rely on their sympathy to bring across the idea that the west is teeming with racists.
They then use this rhetoric to get the state to pass legislation to take action against things that aren't happening, at least not at a large scale, leading to things like affirmative action where some skin colors can get into colleges or workplaces easier than others without any evidence that that individual in question actually needs it.
Obviously there are people who say that's racist but groups like this will just say muh systemic/historical oppression and "you don't think black lives matter, do you?" until you shut up.

All I am saying is that those who think using a collectivist approach can solve an individualistic issue (yes, even if such misfortune happens more to one group than the other) is not only wrong but immoral because it enables people to judge by race/sex/whatever instead of character or merit.
I mean look at the core issue they have. Unarmed black men being shot by police. They present no legit data to back up their claims. They do make claims but they as far as I've seen haven't seen them putting out peer reviewed studies and things like that one could possibly use as evidence. So when you go to places that actually have real data, none of blms claims are shown. More unarmed whites are shot. When you look at proportions of police interactions more unarmed whites are shot as well. So to me they appear to be nonsensical in terms of their purpose. Then add on top their methods leave much to be desired coming out against legislation for more police accountability but supporting riots that result in injury death and property damage... even if they had a coherent message id still not be supportive of them.
All in all i think they have no redeeming value and in fact are a negative influence to the country as a whole and black people specifically.
I love the argument that more white people are shot and killed. There are more white people, period. I'll exaggerate the percentage to make it clear. If there are 20 white people, and 10 get killed, 50% died. If there are 10 black people, and 9 get killed, 90% died. So yes, more white people were killed total, but a higher percentage of the smaller population is getting killed.

@Chthou95 I never denied more white people get killed, I think there was a miscommunication. But a higher percentage of black police encounters end fatally in comparison to white encounters. Not sure where you get your information about whites resist less. Maybe suburban whites, but SOME redneck whites are vicious and will let shots off just as fast as SOME black people in impoverished areas.
