Would you host a Ukranian refugee family?

I'm not resourceful or strong enough to take care of "the world". I might have entertained the idea when I was younger and single but I have my hands full with my family, and I still fall short sometimes; I could give them an even better life if I wasn't so lazy (ex: using this site so much in my spare time). If it's a matter of like we take them in or they die like some Gestapo situation, I think I would have to take them in regardless of the costs imposed on my family. But short of that, I have to prioritize better.
If my answer sounds so ruthless and callous, I wasn't wired that way originally. I once gave a homeless man more than an entire software engineer's monthly salary in Tokyo on a whim seeing him without shoes, and he didn't even ask (actually I felt more strongly motivated because he didn't). I've always been at bad prioritizing this way as one who seems to be what some call "empath", and I don't wear that label proudly. I see it as a form of neuroticism with hyper-responsive mirror neurons.
But I've had to learn to prioritize who I help better the hardest way. So I start with family, then friends, then community, and I don't know if I can even do a good job with just those three without becoming too spent.
Some Germans did this with Middle Easterners that came when Merkel threw the Schengen Area‘s borders open in 2015. seems like a very bad idea to me. Governments should provide them shelter and other necessities in nearby countries with whom they have a cultural affinity.
I rather not to be honest like helping them and giving some food yeah but in my house I rather not though if we were to do this then I would help them, there's actually place in my house and all but I rather not have any stranger in my house honestly.
Provided I had adequate living space for them? Sure.
But I live in a shoebox with holes punched in the top so we can breath.
So, no.

"You pay" I pay what? I can't even afford a pet turtle, dawg.
But they can stay here if they get a job.
our country is really screwed up, there's the highly secure and wealthy, the stressed middle class, and the wiped out, and those on the streets. some people could host a family no problem, others not sure what they can eat tomorrow. Those who can help should, those who can't must focus on their own lives and get to best place they can.
I'm sorry to hear and hope you are able to overcome and get to a better place. I see lots of jobs and believe in down times, that is where opportunity exists to grow. it's not easy though... never is.
@lightbulb27 Thanks, man.
I have sent over almost 2k already. Started a gofundme and I imagine I will be traveling to either Germany, Hungary or Poland within another month.
Sure, I just let a girl I don't know that well move in with me, so probably couldn't host a family but a few single women I could.
The way prices are rising and I am still unemployed and my benefits have run out. I will be lucky to feed myself in a few months never mind feeding another family.
Yeah sure if my Parents allow! We have enough rooms and money to keep 2-3 families more in my home.
Not if they support the current Nazi regime and are fleeing from the Russian advance. Russia is helping those who truly need protection. So I guess I wouldn't host a refugee family.
No. I don't have enough room or money to spend on feeding them.
Under (my family's) normal situation, I would,
But my daughter is in the processor moving, and will be using our guest room for a couple of weeks/month.
If they're young, 20-something single Ukrainian females, then sure.
Perhaps I can but base on needing I think the way is like commune.
hopefully some fit 18 yr old Ukraine woman needs a warm place to stay. She can stay forever
I live in a two bed apartment, so I don’t think I would be able to take any more than two
I don't have space for a whole family but I can host one Ukrainian, preferably one who can cook and clean.
Can't say yes or now, because I'd like to, but I don't even have enough room for one more person here.
I can't afford it and my house isn't big enough. If I could, I would though
Poland and romania are nextdoor, why would they want to come to brazil?
No they’d just choke on the sweet freedom of American air 🇺🇸💯
I don't think I owe Ukranians anything.
I would but not because I feel I owe them.
My landlord doesn't even allow pets.
Definitely not enough space
Never
Yes they help.
