I do agree that I should added a third option C) Pro-Russia but Anti-Putin.

In fairness in large part Putin is Russia. Putin has been the head of an authoritarian regime in Russia for almost 20 combined years and he's not going any where. So honestly the Russia people have to take some responsibility for that fact.

I would love to say on the international stage there's a way to separate the Russian People from Putin... but realistically there is no way to do that.

So reading a lot of these responses I have come to a some type of equilibrium on the subject of Pro-Russian People, but Anti-Putin. The simple fact of the matter is that the Russian people are not innocent in this matter to the degree of their level of complacency of the status-quo with their government. If they want change they have a opportunity if they choose to take it. If they fail to act out of fear of retribution then they are guilt by association.

A lot of the Russian troops were not even told they were attacking Ukraine.

There is zero justification for the attack.

It is obvious the leader of Russia is unhinged, does not care about his own people.

He has pretty much achieved the opposite of what his bollox was to start of with.

Example, NATO spending by country was very much under sustainable requirements, NATO, US, UK had commented on the level of commitment.

He now has EU and NATO countries reviewing their defence expenditure.

A huge one is Germany rearming.

A Germany with Tempest, F22 and Next Gen armour with a population seeing what is happening to Ukraine is far worse than Ukraine joining NATO.

Sweden are pushing ahead with Tempest.

Pretty much every country is against Russia, apart from its usual suspects.

Then there is the track record on Russians raping and killing civilians.

How it treats its own citizens.

I think many people of the West do not understand that the Russain people have never known true freedom... from the time of the Czars throughout the Soviet Union to modern day Russia. The west does not understand that under Putin Russia today might seem much better than how it was under the Czars or the Soviet Union. Well best we can do is put max pressure on the Russian people (non-lethal) and hope that destabilize the Putin regime. If Russian never want control of thier country again then nows the time. Back in 1980s nobody ever thought the Soviet Union would collapse. So its really not that much different today, if Putin fails in the Ukraine.

A NATO where Germany was taking a backseat.

He now has a very aggressive NATO, EU, UN and pretty much every country in the World against him.

He has Germany dramatically increasing their defence budget, the EU and NATO working together, also both increasing spending.

He has Sweden who were pretty much going their own way, now moving far closer to NATO and looking at even closer cooperation with Tempest.

Georgia fast tracking EU membership and far closer ties with Europe.

He has the globe putting together an International Brigade that even pacifists in Japan are signing up to.

He has air space denied, all the major shipping companies have stopped any Russian trade.
Companies such as Ford, Boeing, Airbus, Apple, semiconductor manufacturers, countries etc have stopped all trade with Russia, no products and no spares.

If he had of kept thing as they were, a low cost NATO would have had the odd exercise in Russia, there was never a risk of NATO invading Russia, would be stupid before the Ukraine invasion.

Now he will have US armour back in Europe, a fully functioning NATO from Baltic to Turkey viewing Russia and a full time enemy.

It was the move of a crazy person, even his conscripts were not briefed by their officers.

The worlds hackers have United against Russia and been given free access without prosecution.

Given the current world situation, I imagine I'll get down-voted to hell here:

I'm pro-Russia. I certainly condemn the ongoing invasion though, because I believe there are at least three alternative, and arguably more effective ways Russia could have responded to the NATO/US threat to the country (without war). However, the security concerns presented by Putin (NATO missiles close to Russia) are very legitimate (even more so when you recall that the US was also ready to start WW3 over Soviet missiles in Cuba). This issue should have been discussed seriously, which the US refused to do. I also don't believe that any one country has the right to dictate policy to another independent country i. e. whether Ukraine can join NATO or not. At the same time we have been seeing instances of the US dictating policy to other nations e. g. Germany over Nord Stream 2, the entire EU over trade with Iran, etc.

In the end, I'm not sure whether I'm even pro-Russia. I think I'm simply anti-hypocrisy. The pot has no business calling the kettle black. What is happening in Ukraine is terrible, but I can't help but wonder if the world would have acted and reacted anywhere close to how it is doing now if it was the US invading some other country for bogus reasons. We certainly didn't with Iraq. And there aren't any sanctions on the US for illegally being in Syria, or for Israeli annexation of the Golan heights and parts of Gaza since 1981 (to the point that Netanyahu even used further annexation in his re-election campaign last year or so). I even wonder if the world's nonchalant reaction to the illegal Iraq invasion in 2003 set a precedent that led us to this. I am vehemently opposed to selective justice, and tend to side with the victims of it, even when they aren't exactly "good". The law should apply to everyone without exception, otherwise there is no point in its existence.

Back in 2013 the Ukrainians revolted against government corruption and tyranny of Putin's puppet Yanukovych.
They fought against the police and his lapdogs and won a fight for democracy despite the risks of imprisonment and violence.
Millions of Ukrainians protested for months, hundreds of them got shot and they rioted back.
Like everyone else in Eastern Europe, they were once part of the USSR, subjected to the same communist propaganda and brainwashing of Russian puppet governments.

Meanwhile, Russians haven't done a thing against Putin in 20 years.
There is no excuse why they couldn't do the same as the Ukrainians did back during Euromaidan.
The few thousands of protesters in Russia today (a country with 3.5 times the population) is a total joke compared to that revolution.
If they can't pull it off, the Russian people are simply just cowards and Putin's accomplices.

They want to raise their children in peace, they want the freedom to speak openly without fear of reprisal, and they access to clean water, shelter, food and clothing that they can afford. Who can hold that against them?

I’m definitely not anti-Russia and as much as I disapprove the attack on Ukraine, Russia was pushed to the limits by NATO potentially admiring Ukraine. Just imagine what would have happened if Canada or Mexico suddenly had entered into a defense treaty with Russia that’d make them allies? The US would’ve been extremely threatened and would’ve responded in a very forceful way. That’s what happened between Russia and Ukraine.
